My fellow Americans,
It is with great pleasure that I announce Pride Month has been officially cancelled. Pride, after all, is a sin, not a virtue, and we will no longer participate in the celebration of deliberate moral inversions.

From now on, June will be known as Confidence Month. Or maybe just... June. We’ll see. Either way, it’ll be a time to reflect on real accomplishments. Things actually worth celebrating.

And look, I hate to be the one to say it, but putting a wiener in a butt doesn't qualify as a national achievement. It’s not brave, it’s not historic, and frankly, it’s not hygienic.

They say "love is love," but let’s not kid ourselves: poop is still poop.

Anyone who voted for Trump in 2024 should permanently lose all voting rights.

Also, before I get banned due to my profile photo, I have to say that anyone who opposes LGBT opposes me.

Radical...

it’ll be a time to reflect on real accomplishments.
Can I even remember any?

Moon-landing, penicillin, defeating socialist empires, wealth of nations, calculus, measuring the circumference of the Earth...

Phew, still there.

And look, I hate to be the one to say it, but putting a wiener in a butt doesn't qualify as a national achievement.
Achieving liberty is an achievement, even if it's liberty to do something that is not itself an achievement.

An honorable mention for repealing a victimless crime doesn't bother me as long as it's not too big next to you know emancipation and stuff.

Well, in his numerous appearances on “The Howard Stern Show,” Trump frequently ranked women on a scale of 1 to 10 and discussed everything from oral sex to anal sex to whether he could get an erection for certain famous women.

Woo hoo. I can't wait to see how my life will get better now that the government has stopped acknowledging the historical struggles of gay people. This is exactly what I voted for my government to be focused on.

Gay people are no longer that interesting. Now the very popular choices are therian, furry and trans. At least on YouTube now.

There is also Otherkin too. I never understood exact difference between therian and furry. I can tell difference when I see them, but it is difficult to put it in words.

Korea... to state the obvious; if you're looking for friends, and you pretend to be a furry to find furry friends, that doesn't mean they're really your friends.

Seems to me, LGBTQ+, professing  to be all inclusive,  by an alphabet soup, ignore F & M, consisting of the high 90th percentile of humanity. So, how inclusive is featured alphabet, really? And why celebrate only it? Celebrate humanity; all of it.  June seems like an adequate month, and it does not need striped colors, for it is all color of the entire spectrum. Being an illustrator, I know the visible spectrum numbers in the millions of identifiable shades, and is just surface decoration, regardless. It's what is in the heart that counts most.

You had me until the,
"but putting a wiener in a butt" part.

Though some doubt remained until I watched the video and read the comments.

I dont see the purpose of fomenting various identities by celebrating such and such while declining to celebrate others. The object should be to foster a unifying American identity rather than to divide us in to groups. Unless, of course, you want to divide and rule.

There sure are a 'lot of Month and Day Observances, not to mention all the holidays.

I don't know about 'other countries, but we didn't have 'that many at the start I think.

I suppose I can understand 'some of them, at certain times in America's history.
Used to be a lot more Christianity I think, people probably thought having some time off on Christmas for their religion was awesome.

Though I gotta say, at a certain point, just seems to be 'too many,
Makes them all feel a bit diluted.
. . .

Though I don't 'think their 'intention was divide and rule,
I think they just thought there are a lot of people and groups who deserved recognition.

Its not even too many. Nothing forces you to celebrate pride month or talk about it. It is your willing participation which you complain about.

Pride Month can still be privately observed by whoever wants to do it, and obviously is still being privately observed by a large number of people/corporations, so to say the whole thing has been canceled is silly.

Easter is neither a Federal holiday nor on Wikipedia's list of observances declared by presidential proclamation, whereas Christmas at this point has been very much commercialized and secularized, and to much of the population isn't plainly connected to Christianity. For gay pride to have an entire month of being celebrated by the Federal government seems sketchy from a standpoint of secularism (re: the principle of government neutrality in matters of religion/irreligion and of ideologies detrimentally impacting religion in general).

Yes, government promoting human rights is "sketchy".

To my view, it highlights the 'error of multiculturism in a nation.
The lack of common bonds,
Even bonds that 'ought be, don't appear too tight to me.

Independence Day for Instance, to 'my view means the most to the 'descendants of those who carried it out and 'lived in such times.

A shift of Demographics, people with their own heritage and venerated pasts, 'above that of their 'adopted country.
. . .

Course I admit immigrants 'can be patriotic, often are, often are 'more than people who's families have been in the country longer.
I couldn't guess statistics though.

JURASSIC JUNE

We can spend the whole month celebrating creatures we'll never see but none the less are pretty cool when you think about them.

I don't 'think their 'intention was divide and rule,
I think they just thought there are a lot of people and groups who deserved recognition.

I dont really think that is the intention either. It ends up being a consequence in some situations though.

The problem with choosing what we celebrate and what we dont celebrate is that it sends a message that such and such groups deserve to be celebrated while others do not. For example, we celebrate Christmas but we do not celebrate the holiest days of other religions. This takes the position that Christian religions are more deserving of recognition and celebration than other religions and it operates to place Christians in a position of superiority over the others.

The same thing happens with pride month. We celebrate these sexual orientations and desires but we do not celebrate other ones. It is to communicate that "This group deserves to be celebrated and others do not." In this case the only sexual orientation that isnt celebrated is heterosexual.

Of course, there is a long history of problems, shame and stigma associated with the lgbt people that have to be addressed. Yet, this isnt really the way I would go about doing this. Rather than saying, you know, that "You should be proud to be this" we should say "You arent your sexual orientation. You are [NAME]; You are an American; You are welcome; and you are one of us."

It was celebrated for 2000 years while it was killing everyone else too. So I think 2000 years is enough.

An "LGBTQ Tolerance Day" would've sufficed to promote human rights. But the framing of "Pride Month" goes beyond the mere promotion of tolerance.

Given that you guys still greatly oppress LGBT+ today and never actually stopped with oppression, your claim is wrong.
