I've given this some thought, and here is where I classify them currently. This list may be inaccurate. In which case, feel free to correct it with your own.

  1. whiteflame
  2. Blamonkey
  3. Barney
  4. Savant
  5. Wylted

To be completely honest. I am not sure who is the superior debater between Barney and Savant. As far as I am currently aware, neither one has lost a debate. And both seem to operate on an equal level and debate the same subjects, but on different sides.
Savant usually debates abortion and is capable of debating either side, but usually defends the position that abortion is immoral.
Barney always sticks to his position of pro-choice. It's difficult for me to compare these two, and I would have to see them debate against each other to realistically compare.

Between blamonkey and whiteflame, this same comparison is very tricky because it's very close. But I'd argue that whiteflame is slightly better enough for the distinction to be subtly obvious.

I’d say Savant is better than me. Not to say I don’t have my moments, but the absolute best thing about my debates is my dedication to entertaining the audience; which is very nice and all, but doesn’t make me right or more logical (in fact, it has turned into unintended red herrings).

And damnit, now I am curious how many times I argued the anti-abortion side, if I did… One of my fundamental pieces of advice is to argue against your own beliefs to grow!

It’s certainly possible. The method I’m using to determine the skill-gap hierarchy is the times I skimmed and voted through all of your guys’ debates. I’m not sure how reliable this is though.

What are your strongest beliefs currently?
Or areas of expertise you pride yourself on?

I hope Best stays up there forever, I couldn't imagine more degrading graffiti to paint onto the idea of treating debate like a sport.

Person would have to lose over 100 rated debates without winning any just to beat that rating. I dont really see anyone being autistic enough to do that.

Wylted has no place on that list.

I will deserve who I think is the true GOAT. I see things a bit differently now. I am a contender for it.

Your list overly glorifies selctive debaters that sit timid waiting for perfect pouncing opportunities on easier sides of topics. I have even been that at times and partly always will be especially as I now even theologically feel uneasy being devil's advocate on some topics (not all, Catholics invente the term DA, it is ok to be it just not on all topics especially direclty against our Lord etc).

You know what is funny btw, Fishchaser has actually improved a lot from his type1 days but he went from one of the worst debaters to just good. So if we rated improvement over time here, he probably is the number 1.

Right now LA is on my mind...

I think masked protesters waving flags from other countries, ought to leave the USA (or you know, at least switch it to USA flags...). The rioters should of course be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Protesters who aid rioters should be punished as well (but to a lesser extent... Like when rioters tried an insurrection, I firmly believe their ringleaders should have been hanged, but people just swept up in the momentum who would otherwise not try to murder our elected leaders could be let off with just some outrageous amount of community service).

At the same time, I think all police involved in the unprovoked attacks on journalists ought to be sent to prison or mental institutions both for weapons crimes and for impersonating law enforcement (ok, that last bit is going into hyperbole), and those surrounding them along with their immediate superiors fired for failing to be police officers when they decided not to intervene against those deranged criminals. Further, the top level leadership which has allowed this to continue, should likewise suffer one or both penalties (given the history of this and lack of reform, it seems like they encouraged it).

Or areas of expertise you pride yourself on?
Really, the best from me is my unconventional analytical instincts. I see waste, and I try to fix it. Like you know those stupid questions on the payment devices at grocery stores? On the aggregate, those cost roughly 7 lives per day per stupid question, and that's just in the USA. When I was a combat medic, I massively improved the training standards, such that even while I was punished at the time, every medic which came to my unit after me had been taught to the standards I proposed.

I agree with the assessment that of current members on site, Barney and Savant are the top two debaters, both with a decent number of debates under their belts, though Oromagi, who has not been active for several months, does lead the leaderboard, even though he has a few losses, but still rates highest by leaderboard metrics. There's another no-loss leader among the top 20 by the leaderboard, semperfortis, but he has only 15 debates and has not been active for a couple of years. I'd say on the whole, the leaderboard is a pretty good gage of debate skill, though it does not give much credence to voting as a top metric, though it is a metric,  and I think voting helps to develop debate skill and ought to have a higher contribution factor of measurement.

I agree that training and training follow-up to assure effectiveness is key to a healthy, organized and successful endeavor in any industry, certainly in medicine, and I consider medics in the military as part of the medical profession. My daughter is a paramedic, and I am so proud of her. She represents a fifth-generation in my family of medicine as a preefession. My brother is a retired physician, a radiologist, our father was a hospital exec-management administrator, and our grand- and great grandfathers in our father's direct line were physicians. My brother is also very proud of my daughter as they two are the only medical reps in our father's direct family now. Poor me, my contribution is medical illustration, when asked, of human anatomic detail, for which I seem to be adept. I don't know how to treat it, but I can draw it.
