Bodyguard normally only protects from deaths that could be prevented by a doctor. He would not have been able to delay GPs suicide for example.

Yeah, they did. There's no way to eat 50 pies before most of them go bad unless you eat nothing but pie for a week, and then you just get sick. Mafia, on the other hand, gets one DP closer to victory. Definitely a win for mafia. Doesn't work well for us townies, though.
