My scumread for now is Pattern. He has shown a pattern that is worrying, and sows discord and confusion when there shouldn't be any. I'm willing to believe Pie for the time being, and an affirmative or negative result on voting Pattern would certainly reflect whether we were right to believe him. Plus, if anyone has an investigative role, surely they could investigate Pie?

not necessarily. if our theory is "anyone against naruto is scum" then sure, kaguya is scum. but if we base it on if they're a good person or not then i don't know if kaguya is scum. however, my pm phrases it in a way that says i'm only town because i was an ally of naruto so you could be right.

Nevertheless, I think bad guy characters and anti-town roles should claim now. We can see there's a couple of folks at least are going to split the theme whether its warranted or not so we might as well sort out any problematic claims right out front. If that's going to be something TOWN will argue about then we want the option of disproving that theme split sooner.

I agree with Water that the theory about good v evil is flawed as good is up for interpretation. On terms of investigating Pie, I don't really understand why he's a scum read besides the fact that he claimed an antagonist when the split was obviously defined. I think Pie is telling the truth and the theory is correct, Pie is telling the truth and the theory is wrong, or Pie is mafia.
If you look at it logically, there is an ok chance that Pie is mafia. This DP, I don't think we should lynch anyone, but determine a probable theme split, based on the claims that are already on the table. That said, Pattern looks very mafia, and if he's not, he'll just be a useless town.
Pie is now more likely town because he has given us the option of lynching him. If we feel like we should prioritize theme discovery, then Pie is an option at least. I for one, don't prioritize theme discovery until one scum and one town have flipped so I have at least one test of theme. In DP1, I like to prioritize information gathering. Quiet players should all be challenged and I find lynching the quietest newbie has a better chance of hitting scum DP1 than any analysis of theme or gameplay. That said, we should totally expect we will likely kill town DP1 and look for at least one certain advantage that we might glean from that loss.

correct me if i'm wrong but he's only been against grey parrot, no? i don't think we should blindly lynch gp if pattern flips town as the only reason pattern was against him was due to hiss lack of activity.
