I can’t think of one. Not one Libertarian has helped this country in over 200 years.

Here’s a list of misfits from google. This is not a great list. 

Prominent consequentialist libertarians include David D. Friedman, Milton Friedman, Friedrich Hayek, Peter Leeson, Ludwig von Mises and R. W. Bradford. Prominent deontological libertarians include Hans-Hermann Hoppe, Ayn Rand and Murray Rothbard.

Let’s remember the most famous Libertarian, Ayn Rand died penniless on welfare.

No, it wouldn’t.

Libertarians are part of a very weak and insignificant political party.

Washington would laugh at Libertarians. Washington was a military general. I don’t see Libertarians serving in the military.

Again, I asked for someone great, like FDR or Senator Henry Clay and you give me guys like Bob Barr and disillusioned Republicans who dabbled with the Libertarian Party.

She’s a terrible hypocrite who spent her life railing against social security and Medicare and then turning to those programs in her old age and poor health.

Ayn Rand was a corrupt capitalist. She argued for greedy selfish society. The fact she was on welfare, the system she despised the most, the social system of government payment, that is incredibly inconsistent of her. Maybe she finally changed her mind. Of course, government should be big. That is the best government generally. Small governments cannot compete and fail, or need protection from big ones.

So it’s confirmed. There hasn’t been a single important, great Libertarian in the history of the United States. 

What are these people who identify as Libertarian thinking? Are they thinking “I vote for mediocrity”?

Are they thinking, “if we could just get a chance in the White House, a Libertarian would magically rise to the occasion”?

Do you define great as a guy who unsuccessfully ran for Lt. Governor?

Or Bob Barr who prosecuted the impeachment of Bill Clinton for lying about a blowjob in a civil case?

Most of the people you listed weren’t even elected politicians 

Most people know how great is defined -  of ability, quality, or eminence considerably above the normal or average.

If it was true it is not hypocritical even in the slightest.

Her theory is that they stole from her. If someone steals from you, it's not hypocritical to get some of it back.

If your metric for success is getting elected, then you could say the same thing for basically any third party. It's essentially impossible to get elected right now as anything other than a Republican or Democrat. Ronald Reagan was a great leader by your standard because he was successfully elected to the highest office in the US in a landslide. He called himself a libertarian, though it's disputed how close his views actually were to those of most libertarians, and I'm pretty sure he's not someone you would support.

He and Thomas Jefferson are two of the more libertarian presidents we've had, economically speaking, and both are ranked very highly by historians. We've also had highly-ranked libertarians on social issues, such as Lincoln. Name pretty much any mainstream libertarian position, and we've had a well-respected politician who held that position.

That's to be expected in a two-party system. Politicians like Rand Paul and Bernie Sanders are completely open about their support of libertarianism and social democracy, respectively.

Yes and no. While I do understand her point, she was still a participant in that which she had condemned as an immoral welfare system. Her collection of social security checks is not akin to filing a grievance or conscientiously objecting. Yes, the government stole her income, but since the government generates no (morally) legitimate income, she was essentially remunerated with stolen funds. It's like being robbed and then accepting installments of repayment using money the robber stole from someone else. While receiving some of the stolen amount may have been a conciliatory resolution to her dispute, she was definitely a hypocrite, morally.
