Missed this earlier:
However, when it comes to what we should be focused on and how much attention should be paid to it... That's a different thing.
The problem here is one of your presentation it seems. Instead of disagreeing more agreeably and honestly, such as:

“I don’t agree with the memo being sent, but I think we as a nation have bigger fish to fry with the prospect of another Biden/Trump matchup in 2024.” Etc…

You felt the need to begin aggressively and dismissively with “Your view on the matter is biased because [assumption] and can be disregarded because [fallacy].” (Paraphrased, not actual quote)

If there were a significant number of people on the left that truly believed Trump was a Nazi Fascist, then wouldn't they have a  a clear motive and a moral obligation to cheat in the election to prevent Trump from returning as president? I thought that was a pointed take, and it seems to line up with your response.
It doesn't line up with my response at all. I never in any way suggested what Biden did was fine, I even stated that it was in fact problematic earlier in the thread, so you are clearly misrepresenting my position.

If you want a simple line to sum up my point it would be this; "you have to pick and choose your battles". Choosing to neglect issue A because you are busy focusing on issue B cause you find it far more pressing does not mean your position on issue A has changed. It is a simple recognition that we as a society are limited in our capacity when it comes to what problems we are going to solve. We cannot address every issue at once and if we try, we're just going to fail at solving any of them.

History is rife with explanations and justifications for the collapse of previous societal norms and moral codes. The familiar pattern tends to unfold with repeated selections of the 'lesser evil' within the framework of a false dichotomy. Gradually, step by step, with each "lesser evil" embraced, societal values erode until, by consistent and incremental degrees, the metaphorical 'frog' is ultimately boiled in the pot. It's the pattern that is observed in all fallen and failed societies.

The long-gone Romans eventually embraced Dictatorship, the defunct Wiemar embraced extremism, and the former USSR embraced totalitarianism. Trading liberty and morality for security ensured that all those empires had neither.

We should become knights with moral absolutes instead of consequentialist lesser evil.

We dont want any evil, greater or lesser.

Left leaning media tends to be unbiased and objective because reality itself is left leaning.
Ok, so what does that say about conservatives? They are not grounded in reality. They want the nonsense and the conspiracy theories. How can a party continue to exist under those circumstances?

When the press is meant to hold power accountable, it is generally understood to mean power which is not pro Democrat. That goes for corporations, unions, and the DNC.
And how do you explain this post of yours? The real press reports on what happened. They don’t pick favorable stories for Democrats and unfavorable stories for Republicans.

Perfect. You say reality is left leaning but then you insinuate the press is left leaning and biased. Which means the credible press (not FOX News) is biased towards reality.

You make no sense.  But that is the role of conservatives. - To make no sense. That is their lodestar.

Some people are able to use sarcasm. Others are too dumb to do it effectively, especially when they don’t recognize they are making a true statement when they think they are being sarcastic.

If I said, MAGA MORONS tend to be college educated, someone like yourself might think I was stating a fact.

If I said, OH YEAH, those MAGA MORONS tend to be such geniuses, even someone like yourself would probably understand I was being sarcastic.

15 years ago I saw Steven Colbert say it on his show.

“Reality has a well known liberal bias”

Apparently he had used the line a couple years before at a WH Correspondents Association Dinner

He was being ironic. That was the joke. His character was to be a MAGA MORON. He made fun of conservatives by acting like a typical, stupid, conservative.
Like the  Archie Bunker character. Create a stupid, racist guy who doesn’t know he is stupid to illustrate for people how dumb it is to be an Archie Bunker.

So when he said that as that character, that was the joke. The MAGA MORON had the opinion that reality was biased to liberals. It was an ironic statement because MAGA MORON didn’t realize how foolish it is to complain about the media reporting reality. Get it?

Colbert played that character to illustrate how dumb conservatives are.

But dumb conservatives watch it and think, hey I like this guy, he thinks like me.

You thought the joke was about liberals when in reality it was a joke about conservatives. Now that you showed that you didn’t understand the joke, the joke is on you. Perfect!

It's not the people who love Trump that you really have to worry about. It's the people who hate both, (the majority of America btw,) who find it palpably weird that MSM is taking marching orders from the Whitehouse. Those people will then make a snap decision on the impropriety of that most recent action.  A situation that could have been easily averted if not for the many Trump haters believing it is necessary to defend those actions.
There's no need to virtue signal your Trump hate by supporting the behaviors of Biden! To do so is simply going to create a massive army of Trump haters that will end up voting for him solely because there is no accountability for Biden's bad behaviors. The ultimate tragedy unfolds before our eyes.
You are missing the point completely.

Trump and his followers are a clear and present danger tothe United States, they represent a direct attack on our Democracy and its protectiveinstitutions of Justice and law enforcement, they are deliberately underminingthe Justice Department, the FBI, the military, the Constitutional system of co-equalbranches of Government, and the democratic process itself, using the weapons oflies, deception, misrepresentation, subterfuge, conspiracies, and allianceswith foreign enemies. This country has values worth fighting for, when the countryis being attacked the right thing to do is support our leadership and standbehind the president. It’s what real Americans do in times of war or othertypes of threat to our country.

The idea that we can just hate both sides is nothing, it’suseless and irrelevant, it makes you part of the problem and offers nothing ofvalue, contributes nothing to the solution.  Lies, but everybody lies, corruption, but everyone is corrupt, immoral, but everybody is immoral, blah blah blah, at best it is meaningless drivel, atworst, it is aid and comfort to the enemy.

To hate Trump doesn't mean you have to love Biden, it just means you have to love our country and take a stand, get behind our leadership and support our President.

Incorrect. You are making assumptions. Emphasis on the ass. As a reminder, you are the one who didn’t “get” my post 15, Captain Reality.

In any case, feel free to start a thread about reality having a liberal bias. I will contribute, and that is a promise (or is it a threat?)

Yes, I didn’t “get” post 15 because you were stating a fact, (reality has a liberal bias) which you just conceded, but you thought you were being sarcastic.
