Biden: total failure
Blinkin, Biden's Sec of State, says now that "We gave Americans every opportunity to get out" of Afghanistan. Does he forget that just two weeks ago - Aug 16 - DOS told Americans in Afghanistan wanting to get out to "shelter in place," the same words used a year and a half ago to advise the best, then, advice to protect against Covid?

Biden, allegedly the President, promised just four days ago, to evacuate all Americans from Afghanistan.

Leadership is not a power trip. Leadership is not a privilege. Leadership is an accountability. It is an obligation to do as promised.

Joe Biden, and his team, are a total failure.

You may now wear your mask for another reason: To muffle your blind opinion that this is a capable presidency.

oops.

1} AL Queda in Afghasnstan >> Bush invades Iraq is most unprofessional
If you mean Bush 43, did you miss the FACT that in late September, 2001, elite US forces were already in Afghanistan "looking for trouble" as a neighbor's son told me after the fact, the next spring. He was a Navy Seal medic who's team went there in response to 9/11, and could tell me no more as it was top secret. This was well before going back into Iraq as Bush 41 had done in "Desert Storm."

Because you missed that, off on the wrong foot, the rest of your diatribe continues down a crooked path.

And what does god actually `say ` concerning "how our creation is supposed to be understood"?
Genesis 1, 2, 3, inclusive

John 17: 3

Romans 8: 16- 26

Just to highlight four of many passages answering your question

When did he say it?
As noted, at various times and places as noted

Who does he say it to?
To whom it is revealed, but more importantly, to all children of God.

none of them  have anything to do with adaptation
since when is contingency planning and execution not adaptation? Saint Darwin did not say adaptation had to be entirely biological. Why do you think we're the most adaptable of all creatures? You don't use your big toe to think.

I am no longer in school at any level.
I have children who are no longer in school at any level.
I paid for my higher education personally, with a little help from parents & scholarship, which I earned by effort, it was not entitled. I paid my student loan debt before it was due, but at least I paid it all. I paid for most of my children's higher education, less their contribution and scholarships, also earned by effort.

I am already still paying for education K-12 and state colleges through property tax, levied at approx 62% of those taxes.  My duty to society is paid and being paid.

So, why do millennials feel they are entitled to their education debt forgiveness? Leeches. Lazies. The rest of us will pay for your free education. You get what you pay for. Go ahead, justify yourselves.

There are controls against virtually any human activity considered illegal, yet we have filled prisons. Observe the results of attempted control. Do I advocate abolishment of law? No. I advocate common sense and law. Guns do not kill, so why control them?. That slippery slope leads to control of spoons. In the wrong hands, they can kill.

atheists have a stupid theory about people hallucinating elaborate afterlife stories when they die
-->
@EtrnlVw
However, the alleged NDE experience has scientific study opposition, such as https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fnhum.2014.00070/full

The former acknowledged people undergoing fMRI sensory tests, and some of those people do report feeling out of the body, however, they also report only the vague impression of being out-of-body, and that "other body," is reported as the soul or spirit, that other body is reported by the test subject as "motionless," i.e., not traveling in the out-of-body experience.

The second completely discounts the claim. of out-of-body experience as being simply a "mind trip."

Seems to me, death is merely a door that opens into another room to explore. There are some who, by circumstance, open the door, but remain in the previous room, so their perspective is more influenced by the present room than by the next room. Only by walking through the opening is the vista beyond fully appreciated. So-called after-life experience isn't really fully after life since we're still here in body, and the mind can take on any flight of fancy it can conjure.

Where control is localized, regarding education, the better and more efficient that education will be, because it will concentrate on matters important to the locality. There are many such concerns, not just education, that were specifically missing from the Constitution because the Founding Fathers did not believe Congress ought to legislate every facet of our lives. There are really only eighteen specific subjects outlined in Article I that Congress should legislate. If only they would deal with those restricted items, and let the States and local governments handle the rest, but, Congress is greedy.

I take God at his word about how our creation is supposed to be understood. I'm just trying keep hair-brained ideas out of the context of true religion.

You have to remember that...
I don't have to do anything of the sort. I don't believe that, myself, and, apparently, I'm not much of a follower of the predominant crowd.

One god with three faces? Absurd
Three gods of one body? Absurd.
Three gods as three individuals. Common sense, but not many believe it. I do.

A god we euphemistically call "father," but we, his children, will not grow to become like him? Absurd, but most believe that. I do not.

Jesus, a mortal man, literally begotten by God, who is a spirit. That Jesus died and was resurrected into a new, perfect physical body many saw and touched, yet is now disembodied because his father is just a spirit? Many believe that. I do not. God, the father is a physical embodied holy man, as is Jesus Christ, and as we will ultimately be, after death and resurrection. Common sense. Not religious mumbo jumbo that is supposed to Christianity.

"...but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit." (2 Peter 1:21)
Your own citation admits that God, himself, did no writing. There was no desk, no chair, no writing implement, no paper, and no written words  distributed from the HQ of God. God revealed - inspired, and men wrote. Have I say any different? No, and neither have you demonstrated any different by your bible-bash.

Show me one word God has written. Not revealed, not inspired to man, but himself, writing at HQ.  That is not the origin of the Bible, my friend, but believe what fantasies you will. It does not, by the way, discount that the Bible does contain the word of God revealed to man, but that's all it is.

No religion having any holy writ whatsoever makes the claim that deity wrote the words. No need of big boy pants to get that concept, but then, things a child understands are often muddled by adults. It's what we do.

Begin.

your study is only about whether political biases change results.
Not my study, and that study's result absolutely support my cSe, which is that there appears to be exactly as the study concluded:

A new study finds no serious evidence of a liberal (or conservative) bias with respect to replicability, quality or impact of research
That is precisely my point. It is you who appears swayed by an inconsequence oromagi mentioned that science is influenced by political right/left.

At conception, a zygote's cells resemble a cancer cell.
At conception, the zygote contains the full, compliment of a DNA molecule contributed by mother and father, each contributing one-half of their respective full DNA molecule. That half-molecule condition of each ovum and sperm is not consistently the same half in all potentially resulting children, meaning there is still variation between children of the same parents, so, nothing like a cancer cell. The human. body is made up of approx 37T cells, none like a cancer cell - and that condition  is from conception.  https://www.technologynetworks.com/cancer-research/articles/cancer-cells-vs-normal-cells-307366

It throws serious doubt on the claim that it was inspired and or written by a perfect all knowing god.

the claim is that it was inspired and or written by a perfect all knowing god.

Who claims the Bible had a single word written by God? You? Pardon my laugh.
What is preached from pulpits is what it is. We are left to agree or disagree by personal freedom of choice.

for every "good word" or verse you may find in the bible, there will be others that contradict it.
A claim that will require citation. You offered four examples. Is that all?

Biden's new white flag: "I was instructed"
Twelve marines were killed today in Kabul. After reading his statement response - written for him by whom? - and his moment of silence, Biden declared he was instructed to take media questions drawn from a list of journalists compiled by his instructors. Instructed by whom? Maybe the Taliban, since they seem to be calling the shotes the last few days. What, the President is incapable of taking his own advice on which journalists to call on? Better he walk away without answering questions, but that begs a question: who is instructing him to do that?

So, let's hear from apologist Democrats.

A fetus's cells specialize at 6 weeks into pregnency.  At that point, it's no longer unspecialized cell matter.
But, the human genome is understood well enough to determine from DNA what those cellular specializations will be, so what is so magic about 6 weeks? This stuff can be determined from conception, so there is no excuse for a delay in prevention from that point, even if specialization ought to be a factor.

The contradictions found in the Bible are legion. So what?
1. Most books contain contradictions, so why should the Bible be singled out for criticism?
2. And it's not as if the volume has a single one of its 66 books for which, to our knowledge, an original document [scroll].
3. Nor can it be assured that those who translated knew enough of an original language - even if #2 were not a huge issue.
4. Nor can it be assumed that biblical cultures were understood by 12th, 13th century translators, even if #2 were not a huge issue.

We're lucky the Bible is as well off in good words to live by as it is,  in any modern language.

The Right-wing gets its truth from church and country, the Left-wing gets its truth from consistent results.
Sorry, but I find that analysis shallow and is, itself, politically biased. Scientific American disagrees,
They find no support for your claim.
I believe your claim is entirely based on media reporting of scientific exercises, preferring to cite scientists aligning with media sensibility; not exactly an unbiased industry, itself, so why wouldn't it appear that science leans left?
Bunk.

A white flag signifies to all that an approaching negotiator is unarmed, with an intent to surrender or a desire to communicate. Persons carrying or waving a white flag are not to be fired upon, nor are they allowed to open fire."
Let's look at all of that statement:

A white flag signifies to all that an approaching negotiator is unarmed, with an intent to surrender or a desire to communicate. Persons carrying or waving a white flag are not to be fired upon, nor are they allowed to open fire."

Do we accept all of the statement, or ignore the bolded underlined portion as an optional specific meaning of a white flag?

So, according to you, we can ignore stupid Americans? Am I missing something that I don't see that distinction as a dismissal of the fourth amendment?
So, it isn't discriminatory to ignore stupid Americans? Seems we educate today with the intent of growing that population.

Can be, not must be.
Obviously, "can be" implies a lack of consistent necessity, or it would be "must be" as I originally corrected based on what you said, yourself. But, since you also insist that I must always show evidence in forum of statements made, that's your schtick, and you're welcome to it. I happen to disagree that such is always a necessity, again, counting on "can be" as the guide. That's the open season of a public forum.

Whereas debate, which might as well be a different site, and is absolutely a different page, follows different rules of which you are obviously not adept with out of hand since you almost never engage it. Although I have not had an opportunity myself, on this site, I plan to make greater use of it than the forum.

@oromagi
I have recommended:

  • auto-loss on first forfeit (to save voters time and effort)
  • setting debates for a minimum number of votes before closing- 3 seems reasonable
  • Make voting the price of  initiating a debate: something like writing 3 votes earns you 1 debate
I support all three suggestions, however, the second may be a bit extreme. I would certainly argue for more than 1 vote, but min two votes at least offers a broader perspective than a single voting member. Three may have trouble gathering sufficient support, but what do I know as the 3-day member with no formal debate experience other than in high school some time ago.
