Since poker is highly reliant on reading tells from nonverbal cues and this setting does not allow that to happen automatically I think it is only fair that everyone post their poker face for everyone to see. Here is mine:

What we should go with his 25% bet, 75% fold. That way we still can have action, but with less consequence. All bet would catastrophic.
With a wild card in the flop there is no chance of any bad consequences from betting.

At least, not with town's role set...

Somebody looking at a different role set that the rest of us can't see?

Are you ok with RationalMadman being in the game?
What the fuck should I care? Does he have a history of trolling games or something? If not then this is a stupid question and you should just let him in.

Debater spectrum

@PressF4Respect
It indicates the need for an EXTRA DIMENSION YEET

That would potentially be a step in the right direction, though now that we know that something as simple as how someone argues needs more nuance it kinda makes the people that insist on using toddler words such as left and right to describe something as complex as politics seem rather silly doesn't it?

They do though, because it is a spectrum meant to encapsulate people that are "debators" and there ate debators like that.

What about people that dont focus on voth highly or focus on both not at all but instead focus on both a little bit? Those that focus on both a medium amount?

So if two completely opposite trait sets are on the same point of the line (center) then does that not indicate a flaw in the premise?

That's exactly my point. Those who do both are 'centrist'. Now tell me what those who do neither are.

Thoughts?
I don't see why the two are mutually exclusive. I could just make a line with any two traits at either end but if if the two are unrelated to eachother then little in the way of a meaningful result can be obtained. Say for example that I make a line looking at the "reddishness" versus the "greenishness" of colors according to their color decimal code. Highly different colors would appear side by side, such as black and white or brown and pink, while other colors that are different but more similar to eachother than those examples would appear further apart such as in the case of blue and magenta.

Similarly in the case of this op you would have people that focus highly on both (who would generally be considered the best debators) in the same spot in the line as people that put little effort into either and just spout a stream of consciousness (generally considered thr worst debators).

I will have to pass on that category for the same reason I passed on one of warrens categories then. In other words I don't think it's an inherently bad category but I don't listen to rap. I could easily just go and find a rap that fits the requirement if my goal was to win but that really isn't my goal.

Well. You make North Sentinel Island sound like a Zoo.
That actually isn't a bad analogy. It is about as close to a human zoo as anything I have ever heard of, and as close to an example of the prime directive in action in the real world as I had ever heard of too given the laws regarding contact with the locals.

They really are pretty unaffected by technology. No vaccines, antibiotics, etc. No climate control... water sanitization...

So for number 8 if it is supposed to be a rap then by "the genre it is in" you mean the genre of rap or something else? Or was the word "rap" supposed to say "song"?

Part of the scoring is "obscurity", which I like a lot because it increases the chance of introducing people to new music they have not heard before (which I assume was your intention)

I feel like all the songs I have submitted so far will either score very high or very low in that category and not a lot of in between lol

I don't recall making any grandiose one-size-fits-all statements like "tech always good lul". All I said is I don't believe the prime directive is just, and in fact I even said my desire to avoid grandiose one-size-fits-all solutions was one of the reasons for thinking that.

So, why is the prime directive just?

Doesn't "technology" include CRISPR?
You didn't ask if I wanted to apply tech to them you asked if I wanted to teach them how to use tech.

My answer was "no" and my explanation was "because it is impossible to do".

Should we introduce "technology" to the apes?

Should we introduce "technology" to the dolphins?

What about ants?
Well, no because doing so would be impossible to do...

All those examples would require biological uplifting of different degrees before technological uplifting would be possible, the two are very different topics.

Makes more sense to posit that time travel to the past (and therefore also travel at faster than the speed of causality) is impossible, which given what we know about entropy and causality seems the most likely. Any reason to suppose that this is not the case?

Even with the small amount of description you did give I definitely would not have put a Sabaton song in there if I was trying to win. Glad I wasn't trying to win then, the feeling of discovering a new artist and thinking "why have I not heard of this person/group before?!" Or introducing someone to an old favorite they never heard and discovering they like it are good feelings indeed.

I think the main issue in trying to match with warrens taste is that he didn't really tell us about his taste in music. Not that he lied about what he told us, but that he just didn't tell us mich. All he did was list a few genres he liked and a few he didn't. That isn't really anything to go on though. It doesn't tell us what he looks for in a song, does he preffer stuff that tells a story or stuff that just evokes a certain feeling? Does he care more about the lyrics being well written or does he think it is more important that the singer have a good voice?

Overall however I think this vagueness in his description of his tastes improved the experience of the game. Rather than putting too much thought into trying to pick a song that would get the most points and getting a lot of similar sounding stuff we got a larger variety for everyone to experience new stuff.

Not really my thing with their type of music andit having heavy Christian themes but I still liked it a lot. Might end up checkingout some more of their stuff.
All their songs are about historical events with a heavy emphasis on themes of war, in the case of that particular song it's about the actions of the Swiss guard during the 1527 sack of Rome. If war stories and loud noises are your thing you might enjoy them.

Interesting cover. I prefer the originalbut not by a ton. The guitar solo is good, but feels kinda out of place to me.Score: 6.8
I'll be honest, the original is actually a lot better imo. I did warn you I put very little effort into this lol.

Imagine being Bill Gates right now
-->
@TheDredPriateRoberts
do you know if that money was used to produce food,water etc that it would have saved more lives for a longer period of time then the vaccines?  Vaccines are a good thing for those that get them, but once that money is gone, then what?  I've never looked at the stats but how many die from lack of vaccine vs starving or something else preventable.  That's how I look at it anyway.
So you are saying here "there is a more efficient way that money could have done more good".

GP would agree with you on that, though he would prefer it be diverted to fund a UBI check. Do you think it should be diverted in some way or do you think Billy should do what he wants with it because it is his money?

Imagine being Bill Gates right now
-->
@TheDredPriateRoberts
He disparagingly remarks in post 3 "Gates decides how that money is spent, not the world." We see by looking at the context of the post he is responding to that when GP says "that money" in post 3 he is referring to Gates' own personal money.

He says in post 5 that "charity controlled by one man's ego" (in other words Bill Gates choosing what to do with his own money) is "not a free market initiative" and that Bill Gates' money should instead be used to "give block payments to all people on the planet"

Later he goes into more detail regarding this proposed redistribution of wealth in post 8 saying "It's a set amount of money given per person [by Bill Gates]. Think of Yang's UBI."

In other words that Gates should not choose which charities and causes receive his patronage but instead that any wealth he wishes to part with should fund a UBI where the recipients of the checks so funded choose how that money is spent.

So, do you think the portion you quoted in 19 is an inaccurate summary of GPs statements? Because when I prompted GP himself numerous times to say whether it was inaccurate he did not do so.

Which of the two statements is false?

That is all that really matters, what is true and what isn't. Facts don't care about your feelings.
