And of course if offence is marketed cleverly there is bound to be money to be made.
Could you go into a bit more detail on this point? If there is money involved I would like in on the action.

He sees himself as a knight on a white steed tilting at the windmill of Christianity.
Oh, so an athiest version of Mopac then? I don't really see the point. BrotherDThomas is much better at filling that niche in a way that is actually entertaining all by himself.
In Salixes case, he's thinking, "That'll teach those traffic cops!!"
Now that's a punchline.

if the mod says there is a jester
But as scum in that game:
Step 1: Act as scummy as you want (counter-claim the cop, hammer the popular when town tests their role, etc.)
Step 2: Let everyone assume you are the jester
Step 3: Profit
I just can't imagine any situation where jester is balanced. Bastard role is bastard.

Ouch. Yeah, I just ran through the possible scenarios iny head and that does not look good for your chances of winning in a game this small.

are you better than a cow?
At some things yes and at other things no. I would outperform the smartest of cows in an intellectual test but in something like a methane-production contest I would certainly lose in most cases unless I cheated (such as if I consumed large amounts of Mexican and Indian food the night before).

Lol yeah I'm going to call bullshit on that one.
Take it again and this time transcribe your answers so I can point out where you lied on the test.

I was an alien and didnt really joint with the town.
Description of wincon? All I found on mafiascum under "alien" was a jailkeeper role variant. I remember reading something about an alien TP wincon from long ago but... well that was long ago.

Most of your jokes range from "I almost didn't even realize this was a joke because it was so unfunny" to "I see this was a joke and it was almost funny". Occasionally you drop one that elicits a chuckle for a few seconds and that's it, but even those are short-lived successes when one is forced to notice all the unfunny jokes you have made (and we are forced to notice because you continue to spam the "new threads" section with them rather than waiting for a good moment to present itself).
Now it is clear from the theme of your recent threads that you are either trying to be funny or you are trying to be a dick. Due to your ineptitude however it is not clear which of these is the actual case. I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you are trying to be funny and offer you some advice (note, this advice will be useless to you if your goal is just to be a dick):
1) Make less jokes.
Spamming up the forum with OPs is counter-productive (unless your goal is to be a dick) so stop doing it. Eventually even the click-bait effect (which is already what your threads are strongly reliant upon) will wear off due to people associating your name with a simplistic poor sense of humor.
2) Timing
Randomly posting any joke that pops into your brain is something that one can only pull off well if they are very adept at the art of humor. You are clearly not at that level yet. For now you should focus less on creating funny situations and more on adapting your humor to a situation. With enough practice this will become second nature and you will find yourself in situations where people are laughing at your jokes before you even realizing you are trying to be funny (kind of what you have going on here except the exact opposite).
3) Make better jokes
It's all about quality vs quantity. Like I said before less quantity is good, but more quality is even better. Take the joke in this OP for instance. This is one of those cases where you almost made something. On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 1 being "was that even a joke?", 10 being John Cleese, and 5 being "heh, I get it") this one was about a 4.5, but it easily could have been a 5.5 or so at least if you had changed just one or two minor details. Consider the following possibilities:
Hopefully they got my message in time or it will have been a waste of a postage stamp.
The same message but with less words. With "joke" style humor the point is to be as to-the-point as you can without sacrificing the setup. Long-windedness can be a useful tool in other styles of humor but when telling jokes it is almost always detrimental.
Another possibility:
Hopefully, they got my message and did something to help otherwise it will have been a waste of a prayer.
This changes the message entirely of course, but definitely for the better.
The message in the original is "Churches are not really all that useful so I don't really care if one burns down" whereas the message in my version is a parody of the silly idea that prayer is remotely useful. Both can be funny but the first just kinda makes you sound like a dick while the second is pointing out that some other people are dumb (pointing out the obvious flaws in others is always funnier than just being a dick, all else being equal).

Did you not put forth that even hardcore anti-socialists would agree that Communism "looks good on paper" while simultaneously arguing that it's "stupid"?
I might have misunderstood what you were saying. This quote:
I understand what you are saying. They ought not to be as "appealing" because they are diametrically opposed arguments.
Seems to imply that I find neither communism nor capitalism appealing [on paper] which is not the case.
This quote, however:
I've never conflated "inequality" with oppression, bigotry, prejudice, or unfairness.
Is something I do mostly agree with.

@Speedrace
If roles weren't random, then he hand picked roles for certain characters, that means there is some point to theme right?
Roles were not random in speeds last game either, for example GP was suicide bomb because his character "turned himself into a bomb' iirc (still have not seen the movie, just going off of my memory of the PMs) - but alignment was random.
According to Google my character sided with the captain so I have no direct proof that the "side with captain=town" theory is wrong but still see no evidence in favor of it.
@Speed you mentioned the roles are tied to character, can you confirm whether alignment is tied to character?

That is 100% not my point. I have no idea how you got that out of what I said.

Oh wow ignore post 59 please. I thought that was Alec making post 58, didn't realize it was you. Naturally I was pretty skeptical when I thought he claimed to have a Y axis score of less than 8 lol.

Mine was around +4/+4 ish iirc. That was years ago so I probably am not remembering correctly. I'll take it again soon when I have time.

It's Cap (Town) vs. Iron-Man (Mafia) with probably Black Panther or Zemo as TP.
All of Speeds games so far have had no divide between town. Unless I missed something again there is no reason to think this game is different.

Communism seems pretty appealing on paper.
But it's actually pretty stupid.
See, most people agree with both of these statements. I disagree with the first one though. It is a subjective opinion though so I can't really prove it. Meh.

Actually I never posted the proof that 234567 is not a valid set but I did run through the proof myself (and double checked it after I noticed my rule 8 interpretation error) and it is very much an invalid set.

Just double chacked. 258374 was not said yet at the time I said "the last solution has not been posted yet"
As noted in post 81 the fact that it is the mirror of zeds answer makes it less original (and probably the source of your confusion, I suspect you already knew that the mirror of any valid solution is valid and seeing zeds answer just subconsciously regustered with you as both answers for that reason) but still technically new.

@ethang5
I would find that less interesting as the rules would be arbitrary instead of based on the mathematical relations between numbers.
Hard to disagree with that.
Created:
Posted in:
Okay, the number 8 then.
Firstly the only set we can draw solutions from that contains an 8 is 234578. The set 234678 is invalid because it contains 4 even digits and even digits are not allowed to be adjacent. All other sets containing 8 are invalid due to rule 11.
So. 234578.
We start again with the truism that any solution containing 8 must have 8 in one of its 3 digit halves. The possible 3 digit halves list starts a bit larger than when we worked with 9 because rule 10 is less restrictive on 8 than it is on 9:
238
248
258
348
Four starting possibilities rather than two as there were for 9 yet we already know that there are more solutions with 9 than with 8. I suspect the filter will be when we start applying rule 8 in earnest, as 8 has more factors than 9. In fact we can already see this when we remove the '248' pattern due to it containing all even numbers.
After removing the 248 pattern we go to expand upon the permutations of the remaining patterns. Each has exactly one odd number which must be kept in the middle to seperate the two even numbers. Thus we have:
238
832
258
852
438
834
Of course rule 7 cuts most of these out immediately and we are left with:
258
852
Remember that the only set we can work with is 234578. At this point I get the idea for a little shortcut. Because we have only one set to work with let's put the 8 side on hold for a moment and look at what the other side must look like. Firstly we know its numbers must be 3, 4, and 7. The three and 4 cannot be adjacent however so we have only 374 and 473 as possibilities for the other side.
So one side must be 258 or 852 and the other muat be 374 or 473. The only legal ways to "glue" these two sides together are as follows:
258374
473852
And thus we have our only two possible solutions containing an 8. One of them was already posted by zed and the other is just the mirror opposite. A bit disappointing then that we found no new solutions (we already knew that the mirror opposite of any valid solution is itself a valid solution) but it still serves as a logical proof that no such new solutions exist so at least we know not to keep looking for more, this is all there is.

357294 and 492753 are both valid answers.
