I didn't vote for Biden dependency on foreign oil. Did you? Then you are part of the problem.

Ukrainian virtue signaling.
Lately there has been a large push to dump out Russian Vodka. I did some research on this and discovered most of the Vodka being dumped out were actually produced from NATO countries.

Is this deliberate misinformation from Putin to weaken NATO, or is this typical dumbassery from people seeking immediate gratification through convenient virtue signaling? I don't see anyone siphoning out the gasoline in their cars even though almost all fuel in America is tainted with Russian oil...

Don't you have some Putin Oil to buy while faking actual support for Ukraine?

Oh yeah, that's right. Raging on behalf of the machine is the only acceptable action.

She's a political prisoner plain and simple. Refusing them bail has shattered my faith in the judicial system. How can anybody still deny the police and now the judicial system have become political is beyond me? Political prisoners in a 1st world country is truly frightening.

When they start detaining civilians without due process is when you have a serious problem in your government.

Absolutely they are political prisoners in Canada. Canada taking a play out of the DC J6 indefinite detention on trespassing.

It is purely to make an example of Tamara Lich and Pat King. To frighten anyone who might consider challenging the government - even peacefully. It is short sighted and will backfire. Treating peaceful protesters in this way will encourage others to think that "you might as well be violent" as you are going to be treated like terrorists anyway, peaceful or not. It's insane.

Canada debunks the myth that Truckers were terrorists.

More clarity is emerging around a series of scandalous decisions Canada has recently made in an attempt to suppress a civil protest, organized by truckers.

Among those decisions was the one trying to directly deprive the protesters participating in what is known as Freedom Convoy of their livelihoods by freezing their bank accounts. Another was to block their access to donations on crowd-funding platforms.

To justify these moves that were radical enough to might have just reshaped the face of democracy as it had been previously known – Canada’s authorities invoked the Emergencies Act.

And, anti-terrorism financing laws.

But now it’s official – it was never about any sort of “terrorism.” It was just a regime looking, rather chaotically and unnecessarily, for a way to sustain itself. Those who put their money where their mouth was during the trucker protest were simply citizens who identified with a cause – something that should be perfectly admissible in a true democracy. And that cause happened to be seeking to end the highly disruptive to everyday life, and ongoing for too long Covid mandates.

In the words of Barry MacKillop, deputy director of Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Center, who spoke before Canada’s House of Commons finance committee on Thursday – the money the organizers managed to raise was not only NOT “cash that funded terrorism or was in any way money laundering” – it was simply a way for people living in what they thought was a democratic country believing was a safe way of expressing their position on an issue.

These citizens – subsequently, evidently treated by their government as potential “terrorists” and “money launderers” – were in fact “fed up with COVID and were upset (…) and just wanted to support the cause” – as MacKillop phrased it.

Whether making things worse, or better, this official also said that these acts of support happened before Canada outlawed them.

Why did Canada even “outlaw” this, though? There’s another question for another committee. Or not.

Eventually, the thing seems to come down to people entrusted with power coming back to play mind-games with their constituents, to force them to behave in a certain way.

Canada’s Minister of Finance and Deputy PM Chrystia Freeland pretty much spelled it out: it was all about “convincing” those donating to the cause to “listen to reason.”

No, my obsession is with the phenomenon where otherwise intelligent people suddenly lose all sense of reality to pretend that this man and everything he has brought to the table is not batshit crazy.

There are literally zero people on this site that believe everything Trump did was good. You are having a virtual battle with yourself and tilting at windmills like Don Quixote.

There are a few people on this site, however, that can not acknowledge ANYTHING Trump did that helped America. Some have this irrational dogma that anything bad, no matter how severe, must be attributed to Trump and nothing good no matter how slight, must not.

That is what true TDS is. Beliefs reduced to mindless absolutism.

And we have seen exactly what this TDS dogma put into political power accomplished. Biden wasn't elected to lead the country. He was elected to reverse everything Trump did, good or bad. Which he did spectacularly during his 1st year.

Now, as the failures of such actions mount up, Biden has been recently doing steady walk backs. Lifting mandates, refunding police, lowering gas prices by relaxing restrictions on domestic oil so our enemies stop holding us hostage. Slowing government spending before inflation hits double digits. Turns out "Not-Trump" isn't objectively a sound direction for the country.

But it's probably not going to be enough to salvage the nation in time to avert the 2022 insurrection against the Democrat party.

Which US politician do you uphold as having been tough on Russia, then?
Pretty much every one except Trump
So Obama allowing Russia to take Crimea was "tough on Russia"
And Russia invading Georgia under "Bush" is also "tough on Russia"

Mkay...

And, I guess recently, "tough on Russia" today looks like a complete capitulation of Ukraine...
Doublethink working overtime here.

I’m responding to those who claim Trump was,
Whose fault is it that Trump can claim Russia took no territory under his watch? Who do you blame for that fact? Do you blame Putin for not taking territory under Trump?

It appears to me that the people who hate Trump the most seemed to secretly want Putin to prosper if it meant Trump could be removed.

Putin's Perfect U.S. President
"hmm, what does that country on the other side of the world think?"

Anything else I am missing from the list?
1) Things the country can DO to support your conquest such as purchase billions of dollars of oil and issue promises to continue to do so.

2) Blame Putin to ensure USA citizens don't realize how bad NATO leaders fucked up by supplying said oil money to Russia.

3) Pledge support and other similar platitudes for Ukraine while watching Kiev fall in real time with no action.

These are the things Putin requires from a USA President. Oh and to look good in their local State media for doing it: that's a big help. Also having a USA president that stifles journalists that ask the questions exposing the oil connection with Russia is a bonus, blaming USA oil companies for buying Russian Oil instead of explaining why those companies are forced to in order to keep gasoline from being 10 dollars a gallon.

Cause what Putin really wants are not just empty words. He needs MONEY.

And he needs assurances there will be no military reaction after he conquers more territory. That happens when a President says he can have a minor incursion and that's okay.

America is more worried about Putin sanctioning their Crude Oil Supply to lift a finger in any kind of military response.

So yeah, you are missing a LOT here.

A whole lot.

Putin's perfect president? You are watching it in real time.

Face coverings are now optional for President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address Tuesday, as Congress is lifting its mask requirement on the House floor after federal regulators eased guidelines last week in a rethinking of the nation’s strategy to adapt to living with a more manageable COVID-19.

Congress’ Office of the Attending Physician announced the policy change Sunday, lifting a requirement that has been in place for much of the past two years and had become a partisan flashpoint on Capitol Hill. The change ahead of the speech will avoid a potential disruptive display of national tensions and frustration as Biden tries to nudge the country to move beyond the pandemic.

A pair of new polls released Tuesday indicate Americans are deeply frustrated with Biden’s leadership, rising inflation, and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic mandates— as well as fearful about what may come from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

A Gallup survey shows that a whopping 78 percent of Americans say they are dissatisfied with the direction of the country, with only 21 percent saying they are satisfied.

While the percentage of satisfied Americans has improved slightly since January, when it was at 17 percent, it’s still near its lowest point since Biden took office more than a year ago.

WASHINGTON — The Biden administration will significantly loosen federal mask-wearing guidelines to protect against coronavirus transmission on Friday, according to two people familiar with the matter, meaning most Americans will no longer be advised to wear masks in indoor public settings.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday will announce a change to the metrics it uses to determine whether to recommend face coverings, shifting from looking at case counts to a more holistic view of risk to a community. Under current guidelines, masks are recommended for people residing in communities of substantial or high transmission — roughly 95% of U.S. counties, according to the latest data.

Looks like the USA Truckers won without having to honk a single horn.

While the party out of power typically gives a rebuttal to the president’s State of the Union address, it is unusual for members of the president’s own party to offer an official response. It is not the first time that the Working Families Party has done so, however: Last year, Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.) gave such a speech following Biden’s first joint address to Congress.

Who needs Truckers to fight Fascist Biden when we have the squad?

A member of the liberal “Squad” is delivering a formal response to President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address Tuesday.
In the speech, given on behalf of the left-wing group Working Families Party, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) is expected to hammer moderate Democrats who have stymied Biden’s social spending and climate change package.
Tlaib will praise Biden’s stimulus bill and make the case that liberals have pushed aggressively for his agenda, according to a summary of her remarks shared exclusively with POLITICO. She is also planning to argue that Republicans and a handful of intransigent Democrats have blocked progress on lowering the cost of housing, health care and prescription drugs.

Russian oligarchs suck huge amount of money out of Russia and give it to Western democracies in exchange for castles, yachts, private school educations, etc which is why these sanction have political power.
What a joke statement. It's the reason why sanctions with teeth will never be applied. Once a western democracy is bought, it stays bought, which is why there are no sanctions on Russian Oil among other things. If some upstart tries to meddle in that flow, Russian misinformation will be used to impeach that person.

All the sanctions right now are cosmetic to make sure the payments flow as intended.

"Number two, we’re in a situation where Vladimir Putin is about to — we’ve had very frank discussions, Vladimir Putin and I.  And the idea that NATO is not going to be united, I don’t buy.  I’ve spoken to every major NATO leader.  We’ve had the NATO-Russian summit.  We’ve had other — the OSCE has met, et cetera.

Well Biden was right about that by saying the quiet parts out loud. NATO and the USA are united in keeping Russia supplied with Oil to keep the war going.

then we end up having a fight about what to do and not do
Seems like the fight on whether to sanction Russian oil is over. That is on the not to do list.

Regarding Biden's "minor incursions" remark, it never ceases to amaze me how the political right will forever hold onto every dumb comment and misspeak coming coming from the left while completely ignoring the asinine, batshit crazy, and revealing things said by the last republican president without a peep.
The video I posted came from CNN. There's also a much more critical video calling out Biden's idiocy on MSNBC. The commentary after the clip from CNN talkers had much better points than you have in this thread, but I guess that makes them "far right" because they criticized Biden.

It wouldn't surprise me at all that you would evolve to start calling CNN and MSNBC "far right"

But you would have known that had you bothered to click the link rather than spout nonsense about "mah right wing"
There seems no limit to the flat-earthing required to defend Biden these days.

And if you refuse to help other countries until you've sorted out all your own problems, you'll never help anyone.

That's objectively not true. Cleaning your own room before saving the world isn't just a Jordan Peterson meme.

If you look up the 5/25 rule, you will see that without priorities and saying NO to things that are not priorities, it's near impossible to get anything done.

Of course it's a "feel-good" project. You pick and choose who to help out of the 100 million that die every year on the basis of "feel-good"

Or are you myopic enough to think Ukraine is the only war going on right now?

"Priority" does not mean "the only thing we can do,"
That's exactly what priority means. It says do this BEFORE this. Otherwise it isn't a priority.

For instance, if you say securing the southern border takes priority over securing Ukraine's, then if you try to do both, it becomes clear that Securing the southern USA border clearly was not a priority.

Yes, the first priority of the American government is American citizens. That does not mean that we cannot help others as well. It is not an either-or.

Either domestic spending is a priority or it is not. Our country has plenty of things to work on internally that clearly take a priority over feel-good projects.
