From what I saw in the interview he said the situation is complex. At no time during that interview did he say all of them were guilty.
If the interviewer asked him if he still stood by his 1989 opinion, you would have a point.
But Trump probably hasn't given the matter much thought past 1990, just like 99% of the country.

Why should he apologize? People have opinions based on facts at the time. If people were required to apologize every time new information is discovered to the armchair moralists, the world would never stop apologizing. It's not as though Trump said a goddamn thing about the case in 2016, only race baiters were concerned about what Trump said in 1989. I guarantee you and I held some whacked out opinions 10 years ago, but I would never hold you accountable for your opinions 10 years ago.

KKK consists of less than 3000 members and declining. Pretty sure whether or not they support any political person won't make them any less relevant than they already are.
BLM whose stated mission is to:
1) Demand cash payouts from white-skinned people to black-skinned people.
2) Fund public teachers and public teacher unions MORE while defunding the police.
3) Let convicted criminals out of prison.
4) Affirmative action hiring of the police force and firings based on what the local community demands, specifically skin color.
BLM has 16 chapters and 38 regional communities with even more who support the cause financially, and they continue to grow annually. While no one has a concrete number, judging from the protest sizes they are at least 400 times more numerous than the KKK.
That makes them WAY more relevant than the KKK ever will be.

you can call it a coincidence and side effect but the helping of black people was not unintentional at all. Who suggested, initiated and succesfully implemented affirmative action? Which party?
We have over 30 years of data showing direct correlations of the breakdown of families due to rewarding single mother households with welfare and over 30 years of data showing Affirmative action in colleges led to increased dropout rates as students could not handle the accelerated curriculum.
Whether it was well-intentioned or not, there is only one party responsible for that.

Then we are back to the problem of having law enforcement assets revolving around superficial traits rather than merit. I thought America wanted a better trained and more competent police force? It's the areas that have the most violent, uneducated cultures that need the most protection, especially considering the urban poor need the police far more often than people with the means to secure and relocate their own interests. That's not the area you pull competent police from. It's an area you recruit thugs from.
Cities don't recruit their urban police workforce from the suburbs because it matches a skin color card. It's because that is where the cultural talent is.
Instead of requiring the police force to wear superficial costumes to appear less threatening, perhaps it would be better for the country to not be so skin color sensitive. We are the most skin color sensitive nation on the planet right now, and there are plenty of political leaders saying we are not skin sensitive enough. It's ridiculous, this skin culture America is so fascinated with embracing.

I know, it's just going to encourage more people who want to start a business and play fair to leave those poorly managed cities and those Democrat states. As if the Democrats don't already have a serious problem winning the Electoral College due to having supermajorities in their states. Trump is a heartless, wannabe tyrant who also happens to be pretty much incompetent. Before he was president, alot of people knew what an asshole he was, but alot of people didn't. His name brand was worth alot of money. Once he became president and most of the world realized what an asshole he is, the value of his brand plummeted. The free market decided his brand was worth alot less and people stayed away from it. Therefore, his wealth declined.
