Because when the mob can define what is peaceful, you can experience the new American tradition of mob tyranny. Cancel culture on steroids.

crony capitalism?

Duvos isn't Trump.

influence peddling?
the most famous case would be the Ukraine scandal. Trump asked a foreign government to give him dirt on a political rival at the same time he was holding up money for Ukraine.

Trump Never got the dirt. Influence peddling is normally used to acquire wealth, not dirt. You can easily just pay for dirt, especially fake dirt. Trump had more money than Hillary. If he wanted dirt he would just pay for it. An investigation isn't dirt, it's a request. And an investigation request also is not money.

Like I said if Trump actually did anything wrong and made money off of it, CNN would have been all over it.

Please try again. Link a CNN article that showed Trump got MONEY from any of those 3 sources I listed.

Attempts are laudable, but I want to see where Trump actually made money after 2016. Please use CNN sources this time.

they've reported lots of cases of him doing these things. You simply only pay attention to trump ass kissers.

Could you link some CNN articles showing influence peddling, insider trading, or crony capitalism?

Is gathering in a crowd the only way to protest? Mindless drivel. Uncreative lot, these protesters, and, well, if the shoe fits... so too their supporters who stay home. Like someone in this conversation???

I read a social media post about a Black Mother proud of her son that stayed home and studied for his college exams instead of rioting to promote real change.

I always say trump is a great con man. He wanted to sell himself enough to get in the spotlight and boost his brand. Unfortunately for all of us, his lies were too convincing and he managed to get elected. Thus permanently damaging his brand as well as doing serious damage to the country.

That's a nice conspiracy theory: pretzel twisting the logic of 4d chess with the stupidity of Trump, But Occams razor suggests Trump actually doesn't care about losing wealth as president.
He cares about something more than just a Forbes spot.

Honestly, I don't think you understand why every career politician in DC accumulates wealth 10 times more than their salary.

It's mainly 3 areas, and both parties have career politicians partaking.

1) Influence peddling (which Biden is the master of, even moreso than Hillary.

2) Insider trading (Hillary is the master at this.)

3) Crony Capitalism where a politician gets kickbacks for either subsidizing companies or regulating a company's competitors out of the market. (Obama was the master at this)

Trump has been under the micro micro scope, so there is NO chance Trump could possibly get away with any of these 3 methods without the MSM going batshit crazy.
Instead the MSM only has fake scandals to cover since they cannot show influence peddling, insider trading, or crony capitalism.

Believe me, CNN would let me know the moment it happens. I definitely believe that.

like what? he cut taxes, which made him tons of money. he's been slashing regulations, which makes him tons of money. What exactly is he doing that helps others?

Pretty sure other people pay taxes, and other people make money and create jobs from businesses allowed to operate.

He's literally solely out for himself.

Have to disagree here.

He donates his salary, plus he went into the campaign knowing his brand was going to take a Billion dollar hit just running for president, forget about winning. While he certainly enjoys the spotlight and the fame, he is definitely not president to make money, and that's a nice change over Barry O who earned 100 million as president.

Passed a ton of legislation that affected and helped people other than himself.

Sure he is narcissistic, but every president is that.

Even if the mob wanted to take control of the situation, the way to do that in a democracy is with the court system, not street violence. If the police were in the wrong, the mob had the means to get justice.

Back up and take the police to court. If the court fails them, go to the ballot box. Do neither of those things and you choose to live under a lawless, undemocratic country where the rule is by the mob and the fist. That is tyranny. The tyranny of the lawless mob.

which is a police state.

There is no false dichotomy about what you are proposing. The absence of a policed state with police authority is anarchy and vigilantism.

Believe me, the last thing a soft SJW needs right now is an atmosphere where the people who gather together in mobs have the authority to uphold the law as they see it, and that it's okay to physically resist the police if you call yourself a "peaceful protest"

Conservatives own a LOT of guns.

@HistoryBuff
so just to clarify, you want the police to have the power to shut down any protest they want, whenever they want, and to have the authority to shoot anyone who resists?

I want one entity to have the authority to enforce the law. No vigilantism. If a protester wants to specifically protest the police, they can do it in the courts, not on the streets with bodily violence.

but that you also want the police to have the unquestioned power

Better them than a violent mob. I don't want the security of the nation to be in the authoritative hands of mouth breathing CNN sheep along with frozen water bottles and bricks.

If they want to assert their right to protest, they can take it to the court, not to the face of a policeman in the form of violence.

I don't want a fundamentally transformed America where people have the right to assemble a violent mob and protest.

I want an America where people have the right to peaceably assemble, you know back when America was great.

@ILikePie5
When a mob has the right to physically resist police, it has then become a nation of mob rule where the authority to wield violence lies solely in the numbers of the mob you can assemble. That's what most immigrants are fleeing when they come here. Defunding the police isn't popular with people who cannot afford private security arrangements.

we would have a nation where no one has any rights and all power is in the hands of the police and state. basically, you want a police state.

The alternative is a state of anarchy and vigilantism.

Ignore the sycophant of the media. He doesn’t understand laws and lack of absolute protection under the 1st Amendment.
Yep.

It's sad really because if the students in Marxist schools and children of the 77% fatherless households were taught to comply first and take the police to court after, we wouldn't have nearly as many cases of people killed by cops.

It's not just the bottle-throwing. If people torch buildings the night before then the police need to move in to secure them, regardless of other people.

The police fired pepperballs when the police moved forward and the protesters resisted the police. Resisting the police is unlawful and violent. If you think the police are wrong, take them to court, don't resist and fight with the police. That's how you become youtube famous and dead.

were you wearing riot gear? I kinda doubt it. Also, presumably that mug hit you. There is no evidence any police officer was hit by anything, let alone injured.

I tell you what. put on a helmet and get hit with a full force 20 ounce mug. You may or may not get a concussion but you also might get a neck vertebrae snapped out of place.

There were peaceful protesters out there being hit with the water bottles and luckily the ones I saw on the video it only painfully hit the torso, but there may have been plenty of head impacts caught off-camera. Why do you talk about violence like it's some Hollywood movie you watched yesterday?

I used to work at a lumber sawmill and wore an OSHA hardhat, and I can tell you it did NOT make you immune to impacts, especially sudden heavy ones.

wow, freedom really means nothing to you does it? you will sit there and clap as the soldiers stomp on the constitution.

There were plenty of people pissed at Lincoln for ripping up the constitution, but he was posthumously forgiven of all his transgressions because of the unarguable point that the constitution isn't worth the paper it is on without the rule of law to enforce it, which means eliminating anarchy by any means possible, even if you have to kill 600,000 Americans.

of course they do, because an average pitch is being thrown at 90 miles an hour. That is nothing like what happened here and is therefore completely irrelevant.

I think everything you are saying about these water bottles is irrelevant. I have personally suffered a concussion from a 20 oz mug thrown at my head.

You don't know what the fuck you are talking about.

I would have liked that too...like maybe have small squads patrolling and getting suspicious people...the problem is they can't just arrest someone for holding a frozen bottle of water. It's also insanely risky for the cops because mob mentality throws logic and reason out the window.

What about the ones landing near Barr? Oh yeah...

If it was a peaceful protest, police wouldn't HAVE to wear riot gear. It was mob violence and was dealt as mob violence.

And riot gear doesn't protect against all impacts. Many baseball players had concussions THROUGH A HELMET from a 5 oz ball.

You are talking like you never experienced a violent moment in your life, and that's scary because you are pretending like you know what the fuck you are talking about.

Why are liberals so lazy and take the words of the news as gospel?

Because MSM appeals to emotion, so the viewer will be too distracted to notice the person speaking to them is being paid 50,000 dollars a day to say those specific emotional words.

If a person is able to shake free of the emotional appeals, they can then see that the corporate journalist actually does not personally care at all about your welfare, neither does the person paying him 50,000 dollars a day.

Most people want emotional lightning rods, not answers.

Exactly. The argument that a small minority is doing the violence therefore the police should allow the violence won't hold up in any court.
