Tyranny at Lafayette Park

@ILikePie5
I read one of the complaints filed in the BLM lawsuit vs Trump. One of the charges was that Trump in the process of denying federal rights conspired to injure plaintiffs to the point where they would be unable to attend court and testify. They said one of the plaintiffs had a swollen jaw. (suit did not specify how the damage occurred though) although it was implied the irritants in the air, the crowd pushing her into a fence, and being allegedly struck with rubber bullets caused the swollen jaw and lips.

The whole lawsuit reads like a CNN manifesto with no actual legal grievances. It's like they filed a lawsuit just to go through the motions so people could donate and lawyers could get paid.

This doesn't answer my question. Were the public's health and safety directly adversely affected by that specific protest?

Dude watch the video. Fucking waterbottles and bricks are flying everywhere, even hitting their own protesters.

I read the intro to the lawsuit against Trump. It's total garbage and is probably going to be tossed out. I'll try to follow what happens with it.

Especially considering Joe Biden though Bill Barr was a great guy...

Yeah, I really don't think anyone was paying Biden 50,000 dollars a day to lie about Barr.

Yeah...it's going to take a LOT more than allegations from anonymous sources parroted on MSM by reporters making 50,000 dollars a day to lie to the public for me to lose faith in Barr.

If it takes defunding the police to destroy their work unions, I am all for it.

If it's to replace it with another similar police department that's shielded from accountability, I pass.

Then take the POTUS to court. Explain to the court why it was so vitally important to "peacefully" block the president from protecting a church from vandalism and arson. I would love to look at the opening legal arguments on that one.

People who got their guns confiscated by rogue presidents win in court all the time, and nobody calls that tyranny.

I watched a ton of CNN clips of highly paid reporters claiming the protests were largely peaceful as fires raged in the background.

It's that kind of bullshit that tears the country apart. The deliberate censorship of anything challenging their narrative, I am actually surprised they didn't edit out the fire in the background or cut to some gated backyard.

I'll believe Barr any day over MSM reporters getting paid 50,000 dollars a day to spin a profitable tale.

It’s funny how all of this is happening in cities controlled by Democrats for decades. poLiCE bRUtAliTy

Trump is actually exercising immense restraint considering the tools he has at his disposal to get Democrat governed areas back under lawful control.

He didn't have to limit the level of force to just pepperballs and smoke canisters.

1) Biden has dementia. <---Agree
2) Many Democrats are unlikely to forgive the breaking of a promise to choose a female VP.   <---Agree
3) It is a terrible idea to pick a VP based on recent events   <---Agree
4) Choosing the VP based on the colour of their skin is a terrible idea.  <---Disagree. Most Leftists believe skin color is extremely relevant.
5) Competence is a virtue. <---Agree for a president but a VP isn't as relevant. FDR didn't give a crap about Truman's competence.
6) Endorsing a candidate is not a good reason for the candidate to pick them.  <---Disagree A VP pick is all about focussed pandering and signaling, like a banner.

 Without evidence, we cannot believe what the police say.

There is evidence, but even if there was not, it doesn't remove the obligation of the government to protect property.

Those links give me hope that people actually cared about their community.

It's a shame that the same protesters in DC didn't form a protective line around the burned-out church like they did the Nike store, prompting the government action to protect the church.

 In many cases they have fought against the looters.

I don't see this being reported, can you provide a link?

This topic is specifically about the illegal assault on peaceful protesters

Brick and Icebottle throwers are not peaceful. The police can't just wade into the crowd and pick out the bad apples.

Protesters didn't give a fuck about the church, so we needed someone who did.

I already said the 3 officers standing around "peacefully" while Chauvin murdered a man are no better.

If the protesters will not condemn violence, then we need someone who will.

And another thing that's being glossed over. Park Police reported bricks and frozen water bottles being thrown at them. At that point, the peaceful protesters LOST their right to protest. Forget about the efforts of the police to protect life and property by attempting to protect the church from "peaceful protesters"

A peaceful protest would have Karened out the rioters and gave them up to the police as a symbol of solidarity against violence. Instead the protesters encouraged or at least passively tolerated the violent brick-throwing and frozen water throwing. That's NOT a peaceful protest.

The "peaceful protesters" are as complicit as the 3 officers watching passively as Chauvin killed a man. If they can't or won't protect the church, then we need the government to do it.

I'm so sick of the "not my problem" attitude. Rioters need to be condemned BY THE PROTESTERS, not encouraged and coddled. This isn't a time for armed revolt.

 If you care about a rule of law that applies to everyone, then you ought to be appalled and outraged at what happened on June 2nd at Lafayette Park.

As someone who lived through the riots of Katrina, you can go fuck yourself with your "rights".

I for one welcomed the National Guard in New Orleans. I was able to sleep peacefully when I saw them rolling down my street in armored humvees. The Constitution allows for peaceful demonstrations, not for riots and church burnings and widespread looting.

Minnesota Prosecutors fuck it up, Chauvin probably going to get off
-->
@Danielle
I'm telling you the fact that you're making this sound so easy is honestly just a reflection of pure ignorance.

I never ever said it was an easy case. I only said if the prosecution could get a white jury from the affected area that there would be bias against the cop. You brought up the change of venue that makes that point I had irrelevant. The OP claimed a Minnesota jury of whites would acquit him, but it REALLY depends on which whites you are talking about. (for example, the suburban whites you brought up vs inner city whites shown in my video link)

You actually reinforced my point that skin color was not the factor. The cultural location was though.

@Danielle
Can you honestly tell me that a jury composed 100% of these whites depicted in this video would even think about acquitting Chauvin?

How about a jury composed of 100% Candace Owens?

There's no WAY you can tell a goddamned thing about what a person believes in their heart just by looking at their skin.

a LOT has happened to the social climate since the OJ and Rodney King Cops trial, so those comparisons are not very accurate.

Just comparing the crowd sizes in the BLM era for police victim protesters and crowd sizes for victimized police protesters, it's overwhelmingly against the favor of the cops. You can see oceans of white people protesting against the police. We never saw ANYTHING like that in the Bill Clinton era.

The fact that one person can decide to vote a cop not guilty isn't indicative of a problem with the color of the skin of the other 11 jury members.

@Danielle
I agree. Floyd's past has absolutely NO BEARING on the events directly leading up to his death, except possibly to corroborate a bias the police had toward him because of his history. Nothing in Floyd's history is relevant, only Floyd's actions on the day and the moments near the time he was killed are relevant.

@Danielle
In that case, it would be a problem, changing the venue, but my point still stands. The ideology of the jury is far more relevant to whether or not the cop gets an advantage than skin color, and current polling shows across the board among ALL demographics that the number of people sympathetic to a murdering cop are far and few in between. There are many reasons to show why a cop won't get convicted, but the skin color of the jury aint one of them. You have whites on social media literally kneeling in subservience whenever a BLM supporter asks them to, with no hesitation. It's not a skin color thing, it's an ideology thing.

This is an incredibly dumb statement. Cops are notoriously hard to convict.

No doubt, but that has nothing to do with the skin of the jury.

The protesters are, for the most part, peaceful and are regularly being attacked by police and the military anyway.

If I was having a peaceful protest, and a hooded man in black garb stepped up next to me and threw a frozen water bottle at a policeman, I would immediately go home before I got arrested for another idiot's actions.
