Should Ireland and Scotland have votes to secede from the UK?

@HistoryBuff
WTF are you conflating a state with a nation for? UK is way bigger and more culturally unique than any one US state.

How ethnocentric thinking is that?

Members of the council are usually cabinet ministers from the country they represent, so they would be elected.

Not by the UK you authority lover.

There is no reason to think the US-UK trade deal would be better than the current trade deal they have with the US, via the EU. In fact many suspect that it will be much worse.

Why? Cause 28 unelected authoritative bureaucrats know what's best for UK more than Boris Johnson?

Whatever would give you that idea? Some smarmy highbrow supercilious propaganda perhaps?

@Swagnarok
Right. The EU is overwhelmingly favorable to the smaller GDP countries, so it's no surprise for Ireland and Scotland to want to remain. They would have to petition the EU for membership anyway as a new nation, so "remaining" is not actually an option.

The largest trading partner (USA) is ready to broker a trade deal immediately with Boris Johnson, so Ireland and the Scots should at least wait till that is done.

Just like the American People elected Jim Comey. What an authoritative tool.

You do realize 27 of the 28  of the total EU ministers were not selected by UK Parliament members, right? And you do realize there are appointees somewhere in the middle of a 5-year term long after the PM was voted out of office, right? It's a fucked up authoritative system totally unresponsive to the average UK citizen.

But dem socialists luv dem some good ole authoratee yeehaw

The EU is an unelected body governing the UK. If UK wants democracy, they cannot remain under the control of Brussels.

I really don't give a fuck what words are in it.
They called the president of Ukraine a liar and compared him to a battered housewife.
They equated the possible denial of welfare to a foreign nation to a catastrophic breach of National Security.
Democrats are some sick fuckers.

Nope. Those words do not appear at all.

They are impeaching him for <seeking to> opening an investigation into Joe Biden.

The polls are also the reason no crimes are listed in articles of impeachment.

DOJ is an executive branch used to facilitate communication between the executive branch and Courts of law.

1/4 of Congress isn't so fucked up yet <we hope> to believe that they must go through an Executive Branch administrative department to make a case before a US court.

You should be furious at the lack of spine and competence of the 1/4 of Congress.
How could they fuck up so badly when they had 3 years to prepare?

If you believe that a president can't be charged criminally, and there can be no consequences for blocking an impeachment inquiry, you are essentially arguing that every president should be completely above the low and never have to face any consequences for any actions. IE, a king.

Clinton was found to commit crimes in a court, not Congress.

Except Congress did not take the role of investigator. One man did. That's not Congress and Trump can obstruct one man who was abusing power.

@David
Remember, Bill Clinton's impeachment was pretty much on party lines. Trump's crimes are far worse than Clinton's.
The charge of Obstructing Congress is a totally bogus one, as it is the constitutional duty of the office of the president to serve as a check to the Congress. This charge is blatant wordplay focus-group tested among their partisan base to confuse the word "Congress" with "Justice," The Congress is not a body of Justice. Anyone with a basic understanding of civics and what the Congress actually does isn't going to be fooled by this obvious wordplay.  Additionally, technically Trump "obstructed" about 1/4 of Congress since the issue has yet to reach the Senate floor. It's the weakest, most divisive, and most dangerous to democracy impeachment charge ever cooked up to remove an elected president.

The charge of Abuse of Power is absolutely subjective, and can be applied to any person the Congress deems superficially "Sketchy"

Neither of which are crimes as you stated.

Luckily, this is not a partisan impeachment. We are 100% certain that Trump has committed crimes and abused his office. The fact that the republicans are too frightened of trump to admit it just shows how weak they are.

It absolutely is not a partisan impeachment. It's looking like about 10 of the 30 Dems elected in Trump country will cross over and vote no.

If the UK can vote elite socialists out, I am sure America can too after this fails in the Senate.

I really, really hope most of the 30 congressional Dems in Magaland vote yes to ensure their replacement.

Yah, the moment you decide NOT to register as Independent is the exact moment when a politician can write you off and not care about you. The politician will predictably go about catering to get the independent voters by listening to their needs. The politician then ignores your needs as a registered party member by playing superficial partisan lip service. This goes for both parties.

Any "well informed" person already knows this about politics.

As an aside, I find it HILLARIOUS that all these "well informed" Democratic voters have purposefully pushed a sham impeachment upon their party that's 90% toxic to independent voters through polling and focus groups. They might be "well informed" in regards to their partisan party talking points, but they have no clue what is going on outside of that bubble. To an outsider, it almost appears as if the registered Democrats are trolling their own party!

It doesn't matter what most unbelievable utopia you can fantasize about. There are always people that are going to live there that make poor lifestyle choices. The poor will ALWAYS be with you.

The only way to eliminate the poor is to eliminate choice. Is that what you want?

Blaming poor people for being poor while more and more of the wealth is being moved to the top. It must be the lazy poor person working 60 hours a week.

People who make poor lifestyle choices will invariably end up with less wealth. That's not even debatable.

I think much of the problem is with corporate America raising most of the children through TV and I-phones.

Only the immigrants that brought strong nuclear family beliefs with them like Asians seem to have a chance.

I think Jesus had it right when he said "the poor will always be with you"

You can't force some people to make good lifestyle choices even if you bombard them with sin taxes and law enforcement.
Those people will be poor forever no matter what you do.

The state already taxes the poor in almost ALL Democratically run cities with Lottery tickets.

Bloomberg suggests taxes make people aware of proper personal choices like a soda tax, but it doesn't seem to have any effect at all on the destructive gambling problem the poor has in his city. Most of the revenue from sin taxes like cigarette taxes still comes from the poor. Taxes don't seem to affect their behavior and bad choices much at all.

Disgusted is one of those Milgram study monkeys who will keep pushing the buttons that Authority tells him to push and vote the way people in power tell him to vote like a good "well informed" person.

Colleges were purchased long, long ago to prevent people from questioning authority and questioning the government. It's an elite club, and you aint in it as George Carlin used to say.

I for one am totally happy with the discrediting of the word "University"

Perhaps this will lower tuition costs as people realize all higher education isn't verifiable. The Ponzi scheme of "Universities" validating each other's worth has to end at some point.

Higher education used to be a school of skepticism to counter the Milgram effect inherent in the human condition.

Today, Higher Education mandates a totally opposite mission with a plethora of mindless regurgitation of doctrine from "Authority figures"

That's pretty dangerous for a Democracy.

The cost of accommodating cultures without proper assimilation is extremely high. Hospitals and Schools are shutting down in sanctuary cities because they can't afford the extra staff to speak Spanish. Housing and infrastructure can't be built fast enough. Law enforcement can't explain the local laws or the constitution to the cultural enclaves, and that has a huge social cost. More unassimilated migrants make the problem worse, not better, and there's not enough money to fix the problem, especially when the only capital coming in from most of the migrants are their bare hands.
