I don't recall ever seeing evidence that Hilary committed any crimes. And if you meant Bill, then yeah he likely did, but it was about a personal issue. So it was stupid to impeach over.
I was referring to Bill who was impeached for a felony process crime. But yeah the same applies to Hillary. Doing shady dealings and hiding the evidence on the personal server really didn't affect my life much or anyone else's.

Not in my eyes. What does it mean to "betray your country" anyway in an age of peace and prosperity?

We aren't at war with anyone, so nobody's lives are at stake. We aren't losing jobs, wealth or opportunity to illegal foreign invaders so there's that.

Nation is pretty secure right now, to be honest. It's like people need something to bitch about to get out of the bed.

As far as other nations influencing our elections, Hillary Clinton had glowing endorsements from world leaders all over the globe...and I think that worked against her.

That's what elections are for, so the people can pick between the least corrupt person assuming both are corrupt to some degree.

I really don't mind the mudslinging "you're corrupt...no you're corrupt"

Gives the voter something to think about.

Not really. I wasn't upset that Clinton committed a felony. It had no impact on my life at all.

The problem actually isn't the number of humans it's the density of humans in places like India, Africa, and China. Those are the major contributors to global pollution.

If the american people want to punish congress for doing it's job, then they deserve having a complete moron as president.

With a Congress willing to codify his agenda into law lasting long after 2024.

What was Zelenskys (informal) motive for bringing up Guliani and corruption?

Why would Zelensky (informally) state many times he was not pressured by Trump?

That isn't a parody.
Adam Schiffs quote was thus:

"My summary of the president's call was meant to be at least part in parody," Schiff said in response to several allegations that he misquoted the transcript. "The fact that that's not clear is a separate problem in and of itself. Of course, the president never said, 'If you don't understand me, I'm going to say it seven more times.' My point is that's the message that the Ukraine president was receiving, in not so many words."

This is what the independents see.

Pelosi is worried that this is all going to devolve into a circus. Starting up an impeachment with a parody skit is really bad optics for a Congress losing street cred.

As far as the GOP turning their back..it's pure bait to get an actual vote on the floor.

Do you understand that resolutions have to be voted on? This is sad.

The process was formally initiated on February 6, 1974, when the House of Representatives passed a resolution, H.Res. 803, giving the Judiciary Committee authority to investigate whether sufficient grounds existed to impeach Nixon[1] of high crimes and misdemeanors, primarily related to Watergate. This investigation was undertaken one year after the United States Senate established a select committee to investigate the 1972 break-in at the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate office complex in Washington, D.C., and the Nixon Administration's attempted cover-up of its involvement.

Do you even know what the 4 resolutions on the table are right now?

As of now, there are 4 tabled resolutions for an impeachment inquiry, and theres no guarantee that the house has a majority for any single one of these resolutions, of which they will have to get consolidated around one of them. They cant have 4 resolutions open at the same time and expect to get a majority consensus on one of them.

I would be really worried about a House flip in 2020. The Dems got really lucky in 2018 because there were quite a few congressional never-Trumper GOP candidates that lost to Democrats in districts that Trump won. Many of the never-Trumper old guard GOP that refused to advance healthcare to spite Trump (McCain et alia) paid the price for it. The GOP is not going to field those kinds of candidates for congressional races in 2020. The Dems are looking at a much, much more difficult path to maintain the House. We know how harsh the electorate can be when Congress fails to pass critical legislation like healthcare and MCA trade deals. They don't want to hear excuses "well the other guy..." it certainly didn't work for the GOP in 2018 and it won't work for Dems in 2020. Most of all, the GOP is starting to understand why the people voted Trump in office despite his ridiculous showmanship over statesmanship. The people want the government to work for the people, not as a power-grabbing circus.

That being said I find it very likely MCA will be passed and perhaps an attempt at a bi-partisan effort for healthcare, but McConnel has already been firm about bi-partisan support going out the window as long as endless impeachment inquiries are in effect.

It's still hard to believe the Dems are serious about this when they have yet to take a vote on the house floor over impeachment inquiry. (after 3 years mind you... that's one hell of a filibuster)

It's very likely Pelosi is bluffing to appease people like you to think there might actually be a vote on the floor. Many of the moderates would soon after lose their seats when they are forced to explain their vote to their districts...many districts that Trump won.

Forget an actual impeachment vote, It's highly unlikely there will even be an inquiry vote. Certainly not any time soon as key members have taken 2 weeks off for Jewish holy days. It's not a pressing issue apparently.

The whole Impeachment thing is solely to maintain congressional seats.

We know from history that when it ever gets to a vote as it did with Clinton, the Dems will lose congressional seats like the Republicans did in 2000.

There are economists that will tell you trickle down economics works, with a straight face.
There are also economists that will tell you taxing the rich will create jobs, with a straight face.

You can't force growth if there is no market to buy the product.

Steve Jobs would disagree. He led a marketing campaign to convince millions of people to buy his product when there was none to begin with.

The only time when it is EVER in your best interest to not compete is when you THINK you are incompetent and you have convinced yourself that this is the best you can ever get.

In which case it's time to close up shop and move on.

Unions give workers the illusion they are doing well, but they are self-limiting their potential.
I've been in many worker unions and was disgusted at the number of incompetent workers dragging me down.

I currently only have to work 2 hours a day because I outperformed every person in the teacher's union I quit to join a private corporation.

My biggest problem I have right now is all the free time...

The entire point of competing is to get more than the other guy. There is never ever an instance where it's in your best interest not to compete. That is how people get abused, by believing they suck too bad to do better than anyone else, limiting opportunities for yourself.

This goes for the worker too, not just employers.

If you as a worker join a worker union cartel and they say you can only earn so much and you have to only do such and such job at this many hours... but the union you belong to is filled with fat, lazy, incompetent, overvalued workers that you know you could out-earn if given the chance, then there's no reason to choose to "not compete" with your fellow workers for a better job at a place you want doing a job you want with the hours you want and getting paid a LOT more than your union cartel buddies.

Like the polar bear, man has no natural predators, so the only way nature can balance the population is through starvation.

Every time I see a video of a starving polar bear, I clap for the balance of nature.

Since all companies can benefit by paying their employees as little as possible, they will do so.
This is correct...in fantasyland as Mellon would put it.

Competition drives wages up so you can't just simply form a cartel. All it takes is for one business to offer higher wages to drive the rest out of the market.

You don't seriously think there is an infinite pool of unemployed workers do you? (in the real world of course)

When companies are trying to get people to join their team...why the hell would they waste the time advertising "we offer a competitive wage" if as you put it...people will just choose to work for next to nothing? Nonsense.

Worker greed is universal. Workers will join the place they enjoy working at a competitive wage-price they are happy with.

If all companies were allowed to pay their workers a wage that would leave them below the poverty line, then where would they go?
You're living in a fantasy world. They go to that company's competitor that pays more. Cartels don't exist in a competitive world. (that's the real world we live in.)

his is useless hyperbolic language. America's economy has grown many, many times over since FDR brought in those changes. You seem to be pretending that every single person in the US is unemployed.

Oh, and companies have "free reign to abuse their employees" isn't hyperbolic?

You seem to be pretending that every single contract laborer can't work somewhere else or hire a lawyer for damages.

These were just examples. the intention was to show you that socialism has been a part of american society longer than you have been alive.

Yah but America has been around a lot longer than FDR.

The nice thing about America is that we have the opportunity to discard bad ideas like Slavery and Socialism and Imperialism.

We don't actually have to wait for the entire country to look like California with homeless leaving feces in front of your house.
We actually don't have to wait for a Civil War either.

They don't need to prove that poison is directly responsible for harming people in order to act.
This is the problem though.

Government is incompetent and inefficient. It puts regulations on stuff that isn't proven to be bad just cause feelings and then it fails to regulate actual grievances.

Government isn't qualified to know what's best for the public. Government is largely a bunch of entertainers pandering for votes, they don't know a damn thing about rectifying grievances as tort lawyers can.

The real loser in all of this is Pelosi and all the moderate democrats in contested districts.

Pelosi masterfully orchestrated for 3 years investigations into impeachment without calling a vote for an inquiry, which allowed the far left to be satisfied with investigations and the moderated Dems to legitimately go to their districts and say "I didn't vote for this"

Those moderates will now have to defend their impeachment votes in contested races in 2020.
