@PressF4Respect
I'm basically cannon fodder for town. Attractive target for mafia. Getting me out would progress the game in favor of town.
Simply stating that ensures scum will keep you around to disrupt town.

@Dr.Franklin
Global warming freaks don't really care about the world, not on a macro scale. If they did, then they would care about all the struggling shithole countries that are mostly dependent on fossil fuels to keep their people fed.
What's the death of a few billion residing in shithole countries compared to that smug feeling of satisfaction as an eco-terrorist prig unplugs their Prius?
Man can't terraform the planet, they can only create accommodations. We really do not have the technology to "set" the thermostat for the planet.
Reality will kick in with these supercilious blowhards when they realize places like India, China, and all of the Middle East and Sub-Sahara will choose to feed their people over choosing to reduce fossil fuel emissions while they WILL look at the circus America is morphing into just as we wonder TODAY how Japanese pop culture got so freaky like a carnival show.
Sorry, I just wanted an excuse to use the word prig. (and supercilious)

USA can't fix the world.
Dems are butthurt that Trump is pulling out of the world police gig, so the dems want to enter the world eco-terrorist gig.

This is actually a pretty good point...there are what maybe a few hundred tops killed by illegal aliens a year? Not sure if that justifies 5 billion a year to prevent.There are several estimations of cost. Many estimations exceed 20 billion dollars. Then you'd need to factor in wall maintenance and an increased budget for wall patrols. Of course, this is still fairly small in comparison to overall government budget regardless of these extra factors. Which leads to the question, is the impact of border crossings significant enough to warrant this expense?
As far as the drain on infrastructure services goes, what would happen if we took the entire border budget and spent it on infrastructure like schools, housing, and hospitals? Would that do more to help Americans than slowing the flow of illegal immigrants?
What is the real harm of letting people from shithole countries come and show us how to live?

All of the authority to make lasting changes in the country has to come from Congress. The president is limited to what he can do with temporary executive orders.

@dustryder
A majority of illegal immigrants do not come to the US via land crossings.
How do we know this? Surveys taken from illegal aliens on conditions of anonymity?
Is that data reliable?
Of course, there is always the possibility that we can't possibly know who breaks the law and gets away with it because then they actually haven't "gotten away" with breaking the law... what we do know is how many coyotes are near the southern border and we have some estimates about how much money they make smuggling illegal aliens into the country. The money coyotes make even by the most conservative estimates far surpasses the annual budget for border enforcement.

Elon Musk represents EVERYTHING that is wrong with today's progressive agenda.
He sucks up to just about anyone including the government to promote his visions of space dominance while people on the surface of the planet struggle with real problems that won't be fixed in their lifetimes with a rocketship.
He is the entrepreneurial version of the aloof elite demanding that the unindoctrinated do his bidding as a low caste should.

Case in point. You're convinced. Think about the poor working man, it's a slam dunk that he doesn't come across as professorial to a flyover country voter.

It's not nearly as simple as that. Warren is a professor like Clinton. Her relatability is forced because she has been trained to pontificate all her life, and only now must she pretend to be one of the people.
People can see through the facade.

I don't mind that Warren is another condescending elite snob like Hillary, but there's a chance, unlike Hillary that she could pivot out of that role after the primaries. YYW laid out the things Warren needs to change in her approach to win earlier in this thread.

@bsh1
This reads as sexist; I'd like to think you're better than that.Besides, I don't think that Warren being a weak candidate is actually the case. Warren and Hillary are very different politicians, both ideological and personally. Drawing an equivalence then between them is difficult, if you are going to be intellectually honest about it. And frankly, Trump's position is so weak that he would struggle to get reelected against Marianne Williamson. No, I think that among the major Democrats, Trump would struggle least against Kamala Harris. Warren would probably win.
The very idea that having a vagina is a qualification for leadership is about as bad as holding up a color chart to someone's skin to decide if that person can speak for you properly.
There is no denying at all that this primary is the most intersectional in the history of Dem primaries where value is added from immutable traits like genitalia and melanin. The most popular genitalia and melanin count will win.

Trump already beat a pandering, condescending woman once. It's going to be a blowout as the Dems double down on vagina power.

Actually, minimum wage most certainly means fewer jobs, especially starter jobs for inexperienced workers. Price controls never, ever work historically.
Rent control leads to fewer houses being constructed. Wage control leads to fewer jobs being offered.

@Snoopy
They say Trump mocks the presidency, but perhaps it should be mocked seeing as the belief that a president can solve all the problems while Congress does nothing is the reason why Trump is in the office to begin with.
Congress needs to stop getting a free pass from the public.

Also remember...the more competition the more opportunity...which means more progress.
Economies run by monopolies and governments have very little opportunities and very little room for innovation and progress.
USA is supposedly a bastion for personal opportunity.
Created:

Sure, competition can be a good thing, but, like with all good things, too much of that good thing is usually a bad thing. Remember that. Obviously having competition can motivate people to work harder and boost the economy, but, because we have so much of it, it's starting to get way out of control, backfire on us, and do more harm than good.
It's a voluntary system. You can choose not to compete.
