More including Democrats are raising the alarm about election fraud
-->
@Unpopular
Okay so neither Republicans or Democrats can be trusted. ONLY people who support Trump i.e. only those who stand by whatever he says can be trusted to tell the truth.  Lol welcome to the clown show.
I can’t help you if you haven’t realized the GOP and Democratic Establishments are buddies after all these years. Their enemies are Trump and the left wing progressives. Both of these groups represent a threat to them.

It’s always one sided. I wonder why. I don’t see any Big Tech banning the Ayatollah when they repeatedly chant death to Israel and America

This is not saying the media is perfect; or even unbiased. They are often sensational, jump to conclusions, speculate a lot and assume the worst; but the idea that they are systematically selling a false narrative is unsupported claptrap, sold by a political wing that needs you dismiss any unflattering story.
I wonder why it only benefits one side. I wonder why. Yall’s end goal is political supremacy for the next century through amnesty, court packing, and statehood for PR and DC. It’s painfully obvious. You want to make the nation a one party nation, not me. It’s ok though, before all of this radical shit happens, there will be a Civil War and I’m sure you can guess which side would win.

The goal wasn’t to stop the funds, it was to get Ukraine to *announce* that they were  investigating the Biden’s. Why is that so difficult?
What incentive did Ukraine have to “announce” an investigation. None. So at the very best it’s a request for an investigation into corruption. Don’t see what’s wrong with that.

Wow, how absurd. So to be clear, your position is that the president of the United States is a nobody to foreign countries like Ukraine?
My position is that the Ukrainians aren’t that stupid that the US holds no leverage over them lol.

What’s more absurd, is that this claim is being made in the face of an actual Ukrainian ( the only one who has spoken about it publicly so far) who was an advisor to Zelensky at the time while this was happening saying everything I’m saying. But why let facts get in the way right?
Oh so you’re at Zelensky’s advisors. I have Zelensky  saying there was no blackmail. So who should we believe. An advisor or the President himself? Cause guess what? The aid would be released anyways. It’s not hard to understand.

@dustryder
The point isn't the ultimate outcome. The point is the intent and actions taken with regards to the intent.

If someone does his very best to murder someone else, but ultimately fails, this would still be a crime. In a similar fashion here, it's true that money apportioned to Ukraine must go to Ukraine eventually from a legal standpoint, but this doesn't really address the manner in which the aid was attempted to be used as leverage.
Another false equivalency. If you wanted to murder someone, you have the capacity to murder that someone even if you fail. Here you do not have the capacity to stop the funds because of the law. You can’t try to stop something that can’t be stopped in the first place lol. You can only delay it.

There was no leverage if the money was going to be given anyways. Its just like obstruction. Obstruction of justice when there literally was no crime committed. Gimme a break.

And what about Georgia's Republican Secretary of State and Republican Attorney General both insisting after many investigations there was no fraud?
Like I said, establishment Republicans hate Trump. Kemp and Raffensberger are included with McCain. No wonder Raff isn’t running again. He knows he’s screwed.

What GP said. Establishment GOP also hated Trump. Arizona is establishment GOP country. Such a shame that the state that put Goldwater in the spotlight behaves this way. Although I suspect it has something to do with the Hanoi Songbird - another beauty.

@Lemming
Didn't a number of Republican officials responsible for their state election results 'already check for fraud?
If you’re talking about Arizona and Maricopa County specifically, they were in on it. The Republican dude who won his race against an incumbent barely won. Their “audits” are pretty much shams.

Anyways, we’re talking specifically about Georgia here, although I suspect the same thing happened in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin as well. Breaking into a place where they keep the ballots the judge said should be examined doesn’t bring trust into the institution. Neither does career Democratic operatives claiming something fishy was up. The courts can punt all they want, they’re just kicking the can down the road just like Congress did in the later 1700s and early 1800s with slavery.

It’s really interesting the little hoops these guys are jumping through in order to not address the key central points.
It’s really interesting that fake news stories work one way huh. Russia, Lafayette Square, Russian Bounties, HCQ, Vaccines.

Ukrainian aid was going to go to Ukraine no matter what. Period. End of story. That’s how the Impoundment Control Act works. This is just like the sham impeachment trial at the end of Trump’s term. Unconstitutional af.

Oromagi is under the assumption that all these Democrats are lying or compromised by conservatives because of the fact they saw ballots with perfect markings, which all voted for Joe Biden in the most blue counties in Georgia - DeKalb, Fulton, and Cobb. Also the fact that after the judge, a Democrat, announced his decision, the place where ballots were kept was mysteriously broken into. Ofc officials claim nothing happened and nothing happened to the ballots. The same officials that would have had a hand in this voter fraud.

So if I go into a store with a handgun that’s not loaded, point it at the cashier and tell her to give me her money… I did nothing wrong because I couldn’t have shot her so I had no leverage. Ok.
False equivalency. Ukrainians knew the “gun wasn’t loaded” from the beginning because the President cannot unilaterally stop budget funds already approved by the United States Congress. The worse he can do is delay it, but the money gets there no matter what. That’s how the system works.

You seriously think that the Ukrainians see themselves being extorted by Trump and think to themselves… “well it’s in the US budget so we’ll be fine”?

How’s it extortion when there literally is no leverage. And if they didn’t think that they’re dumb. They’re corrupt af, ofc they knew they’re gonna get their money no matter what Trump says lol.

What are your policy priorities for the US?
-->
@Tejretics
This seems unlikely to me, but more generally, I think political structures should reflect the will of the people. I don’t support direct democracy, but I don’t think indirect democracy should be so detached from what the public wants.
The problem is the public is divided on the issues themselves. They uphold ideas that both parties promote. No party can uphold the values espoused by the voters so at best the party with the most values in common gets voted in, yet they can still harm the same people that voted them in because of values that don’t align. The current system is perfect in that it promotes balance with the system of checks and balances not just between the branches but within branches themselves. Plus you have to consider that these are the United States of America. Foundations do matter because those foundations are what has made America arguably one of the best nations in the world. Changing the way the Senators are chosen to reflect a popular vote will definitely lead to Civil War. One that the conservative side will likely win.

@Tejretics
How is that? Ranked choice voting, for instance, would probably allow for the success of more than just two parties. The system I support would just allow whoever’s supported by most American people at any point in time to have political power – and it’s not obvious to me that that would systematically favor any one political party. At the moment, it would favor the Democrats. Six years ago, it would have favored the Republicans. Four years ago, it’d be pretty close.
I severely disagree. Democrats are going to gain power for the next century with the agenda they hold. If you’re arguing after a 100 years things will change that’s fine, but by that time I argue they will have ruined the nation - if it even exists.

I think there’s a pretty strong case for abolishing the Senate, yeah. Or radically reforming it. Majoritarian politics is not ideal, but the level of small state overrepresentation in the Senate is probably worse, in my view.
If this ever happens I predict a Civil War. Drastically reduces the power of smaller states in political affairs.

  1. Reform the US political system, by abolishing the filibuster, making DC and Puerto Rico states, creating independent redistricting commissions, abolishing the Electoral College, and adopting ranked choice voting for most elections.
You seem to be a supporter of a one party state lol

So what? all of politicking is a quid pro quo. It's just only bad when the orangeman does it and only good when someone with a D does it.

Nothing new to see here. Move on.
The money was given to Ukraine and was going to be given because it was written into the budget by Congress. How are you supposed to have a quid pro quo if there isn’t leverage in the first place. Are the Ukrainians that dumb? Democrats would have you believe they are, even though it is one of the most corrupt nations in the world.

Tyranny at Lafayette Park

U.S. Park Police did not clear Lafayette Park and the nearby area of protesters on June 1, 2020, so President Donald Trump could walk from the White House over to St. John’s Church

Those are absolutely the wrong kinds of insurrectionists. Not only do their costumes suck, but they are really bad at taking a bullet in the neck from a DC cop.

If only q-Anon threw more necks at DC police bullets, maybe Democracy could have been actually threatened.

Correct but no amount of gun laws can prevent them. I person who inherently is mentally unstable will do anything to cause the same harm he’s facing to others

people like to say assault rifles are not that dangerous, because there are only a few hundred murders with them per year out of only around ten or so thousand of gun murders. the thing is though, the percent chance an assault rifle will be used to kill someone is significantly higher than the chance other guns will be used to kill someone.
Who wants to tell him more people died by stabbings than by rifles.
