When Democrats had huge majorities, from 1932 to 1970, they transformed this country. Presidents like Roosevelt and LBJ signed hundreds of bills from those Congresses into law. The Republicans resisted all of it but when they realized they couldn’t stop it and the laws were popular, they eventually joined in.
