To Note, I am not sure how the Hydra will correlate with my normal activity. My goal this game is to help Caspin learn the basics and encourage her to develop and come up with her own reads and support that. We may have different reads, and I will offer suggestions and insight, but I will concede to her choice as final as this is a learning experience.

Not sure if this is a hard town read or a scum slip tbh. He assumes "various things" are "items". He has soft claimed an item. This could be mafia knowledge and him making a slip because he has knowledge due to being mafia about the theme, but I think it's more likely he saw his PM and just concluded everything is "items" because he is one

Yeah it’s functioning for now. Which will allow for debates and forums but now that bullish and savant are both looking at it, prob will tune up pretty nice. Savant did a months worth of work in a week or two. Ideally we get the site passed on and this is just already set up to maintain but there is also a high possibility this just goes dark. Either way we are covered and have an approach to take 

Going to be self reported and then it will get reviewed. You don’t have to bring anything if you don’t want to drag your records over. Giving credit for what people have did and archiving what they want. 

Keep in mind the entire Dev server and feedback from the community is also there to add to this. So it’s a community effort. We just need to get everyone into one place so we hold onto the members we have in case we have to launch. 

I’m sending it all members and encouraging them to join. The idea is to gather debate records and give people credit on the new site (if we don’t get access to this). It will be for DDO and Dart and any debates that are verifiable. Doing anything with this site is largely not possible unless David gets full access but the upside to starting a new one is enough core people are involved in it, we never risk it going black again. Savant and Bullish seem willing to greatly assist and confirmed with savant he is staying around for the foreseeable future so we also have the ability to code and add new features. 

Also if it’s launched, I plan on marketing it to other debate communities and doing some grass roots invitations to try and get more people on it so the community is more active. 

It will mention it in the discord as well. If we need to launch the new site we are looking at giving credit for DDO debates and Dart debates so you retain the effort. Please post your records on the archive debate channel and if you want to save your debates make sure to web archive them in storage as we can add this to the site at some point as well

So I agree with the KKK example. If they are at your yard burning a cross, yes ban them. But you would acknowledge that a belief is different, correct?

Would you consider someone actively in the KKK explaining his beliefs as hate speech? Not dropping slurs, attacking anyone, but engaging in general dialogue to support a position?  Not saying he is a beacon of a member or adds depth to the community but would someone defending that without attacking or insulting someone be considered hate speech because they hold the belief?

Fair enough, if you yielded on the reactionary portion the only part I’d be interested in discussing further is what is classified as hate speech because that is the line that will be used to measure responses.

I don’t think you should get attacked for it and you can see where you drew inferences to hate speech. I think the problem even if people are not conveying it properly is 

1) deleting some of the material or recording it so you can point to the infraction 

2) addressing if there was actual hate speech, attacks, or a call to action. I think this is the larger point. Was he using a dumb belief to harass, attack, or slander someone. Just believing in dumb things does not qualify as hate speech 

3) the general opinion of the community is that more moderation is bad (tend to lean this way) but also think 0 moderation is also dumb as fuck and there needs to be a more consistent way to identify banable offenses. 

Hate to give credence to this but it is just factually inconsistent. This guy got banned for it and Wylted and Mharm are doing a debate about it and they won’t be banned. (They are more active users and they shouldn’t be banned for this as I don’t think the topic qualifies as hate speech). But pointing out inconsistency with applications of it. Which I’m sure is the point of that debate. 

Bro Europe has access to Reddit and 4chan and there is a lot worse on there. As long as you aren’t the one spouting it off, it don’t matter. Also go make a thread and complain. He asked you to stop typing in this already

Should clarify to RM

Trial is more for content, but yeah it moves the ruling to a popular vote if a user was popular enough to warrant a trial and also holds mods accountable to the will of the community. DDO did these and they were greatly viewed and got a lot of attention. 

Not all drama is bad. Conversations and good drama keep people invested.
