Yeah I think you're right actually. I listen to metal and rap, so I guess I inevitably like the angrier side of rap music. The rappers you like are more similar to stuff like Jedi Mind Tricks and Tech, then?
Yeah. The exact topic is "Resolved: A public health emergency justifies limiting civil liberties." but LD topics always pretty much come down to "Judge, you should value safety/liberty over this other thing!"
Yeah I understand where you're coming from. I like the choppy flows, but I also enjoy the smoother and slower stuff too (Like Hopsin and older Eminem). I personally like his voice and beat selection a lot, though.
I like rap a lot actually. I was trying to expose fauxlaw to a rapper he might enjoy (NF). That said, you're right that whenever they incorporate political messages it leans left. I usually just avoid or ignore political references in music. I listen to music to ESCAPE politics, not be reminded of it. BTW, if you want sick flow, Token is where it's at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsLJLCtU32w
Oromagi's right.. Specify the country you mean. I would accept as PRO, but I agree with you on this one. If you want, you can find my old debates on capital punishment for some argument ideas for your side.
I disagree with the vote as well, but as a rational person I can see where Intelligence was coming from. His line of thought is that the resolution states that CON definitely WILL use the letter E in all cases. PRO didn't prove that they will in all cases. In fact, PRO did little proving at all. Instead, CON made a blunder. So despite CON using the letter E, PRO's BoP is still unfulfilled.
Again, not my opinion, but as a rational line of reasoning, it fulfills the voting requirements.
Also, keep in mind our distinctions in race are very arbitrary.
https://www.dictionary.com/browse/racism
"Other forms of bigotry, intolerance, and xenophobia, such as anti-Semitism and Islamophobia, are often considered to be rooted in racism.
The word racist can be used as a noun meaning a racist person or as an adjective meaning “of or promoting racism,” as in racist ideology or racist comments.
What is race?
To fully define racism, we have to define race. Throughout history, the word race has commonly been used to refer to a classification of humans based on various physical characteristics, especially skin color, facial form, and eye shape. But sorting people into such races is truly arbitrary—they’re not based on meaningful scientific differences (like, for example, those used to determine legitimate scientific classifications such as species and genus)."
Ok. Oxford says the opposite:
"prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized."
Wikipedia finds:
"While the concepts of race and ethnicity are considered to be separate in contemporary social science, the two terms have a long history of equivalence in popular usage and older social science literature. "Ethnicity" is often used in a sense close to one traditionally attributed to "race": the division of human groups based on qualities assumed to be essential or innate to the group (e.g. shared ancestry or shared behavior). Therefore, racism and racial discrimination are often used to describe discrimination on an ethnic or cultural basis, independent of whether these differences are described as racial. According to a United Nations convention on racial discrimination, there is no distinction between the terms "racial" and "ethnic" discrimination."
I've created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Marshall no more
They want Shady, I'm chopped liver
Well if you want Shady, then this is what I'll give ya
A little bit of weed mixed with some hard liquor
Thank you for the prompt vote!
It was a good debate anyway, good luck with the classes!
That said, if I can keep my stats from tanking, I will
Not really. I debate because it is fun, not because I want to see my numbers go up.
Our difference in ELO is now 1. LOL
If it's not even a rap, then it is a bad rap.
NOoOOOO
And apparently Nicki lol. I only watch her music videos occasionally for "personal reasons."

Thanks! Looks like we will be debating safety vs. liberty on an LD style topic. Should be fun

Eh... I shouldn't. I have a lot of school stuff coming up, plus the tournament to worry about.
Yeah NF is great. Reread fauxlaw's comment.
you obviously haven't heard NF!
I'd accept but... it's a bit too many rounds and too short time for arguments for me.
No worries if you can't get to it. It was a fun debate either way!
*likes*
For real. And it was by a narrow margin too. I've never seen Speed fight so hard.
It was definitely hard-fought on both sides. Probably the best debate I've had on the site
I might pass Trent without the help actually. I have a debate about to finish in a day or so
To be fair, that should've been clear from the context imo.
Yes, except I think you mean *CON
Do what you do best
You've GOT to talk to BrotherDThomas lol. https://www.debateart.com/forum/topics/4611-when-will-the-hypocrisy-of-the-catholic-church-ever-end
This is a kind of truism. Yes, the contender's definition of Christianity MAY be wrong biblically. There is always a chance.
It's pleasant to see a friendly discussion instead of a flamewar, especially on a topic as controversial as abortion
dun dun dun dun dundundunddundudndundudnudun DUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUN itssssssssssss DAVID!!

that said, if you want to appeal the decision, the voting mods can review it for you.

Thanks for replying instead of forfeiting, it's no fun unless we actually finish! Too many users accept my debates and forfeit half the rounds.
Don't let Bearman hear this but I'm lowkey glad we only made it 3 rounds
Holy shit. my fingers. So many characters
Pretty good case from PRO, but still very much winnable from CON. Looking forward to this
Will do soon

What something is "technically defined as" in social science has nothing to do with how it is USED.

Racism encompasses hatred of ethnic groups
We'll see.
I think
PRO is arguing that Hitler was NOT racist as a joke.
