Alright, I was wrong to start accusing Trump of being worse than Biden. That was unsupported. But focusing on the real issue, you said that the age isn't the problem, and it's Bidens mental capacity. But at least from my point of view, Biden has done a good-ish job as president, and all of my main issues with him is that he is too moderate, which really has nothing to do with his age. He has handled everything non-partisan with the skill that any president should, and I agree with his partisan policies much more than I do Trump's. I think he really has proven that he can run the country, and you can't say he is unfit based on things he did that are against your political views. You just kinda have to be impartial when measuring the worth of presidents without the benefit of hindsight.

@ILikePie5
I think that gives us two options.
1. He's making a desperate attempt to seem valuable
2. He's telling the truth
Whatever it is, we need more than just a claim to decide, so I say we keep probing.

@FLRW
I wouldn’t necessarily agree with that, mostly because IQ doesn’t correlate directly with how well you can govern a country. You do need some degree of intelligence, but IQ is a very imperfect measure of that, and so I don’t think it should be used in such a high stakes situation. You also need leadership skills, and you need to have a good Idea of the demands of the people in your country. You need to be open to criticism, and all of that stuff isn’t really governed directly by intelligence, which isn’t even really the same as IQ.

So many people are turned away from Biden because of his age, but first of all, Trump is only 3 years younger! So why not say the same about him? Also, there is much more evidence that Trump has dementia than Biden does. But to set even that aside, It's stupid to measure a president's worth based on their age, especially in this scenario. We have seen both candidates in the white house, so none of this is speculative. Biden has proven that he can do the job, and that is all that really matters. Sure, you could say his age might have an effect on his policies, but he has proven that it doesn't. You can only really make this argument against a president who hasn't served, and both candidates have. We should judge a president based on his policies, and the work they did. Nothing else.

I get that savant says his is confirmable, so I that gives him some cred, but I don’t want to take it too far. Austin flew under the radar by doing that last game, so it makes me a little wary. You do have much more experience here, and for all I know, I sound like a rambling mad man. I’m just sharing what’s in my head.

@ILikePie5
Did we get a claim from savant? If so, then I think you might be right about Austin. If not, I say savant might take more priority, since we got one from Joebob, right?

@ILikePie5
Btw, I’m willing to claim anytime that you need it. I figure that you’ll probably want to wait, but you know I like it better if more people claim, so I’m down when you need me to.

@Savant
Can you at least say if your hard or soft confirmable?
Created:

@ILikePie5
Not to accuse or anything, but we need to start being a little more wary of “confirmable” roles. Last game Austin used his scum buddy (savant) to fake claim him, and we do have a lot of “confirmable” roles in this game.

I wouldn't jump to conclusions there. Maybe he thought we would get the Emojis faster than we did, and was planning to tell us what they meant sooner, but something came up. I would wait for him to get online though.

I’m not trying to accuse anyone, It’s mostly just PoE
Created:

@Savant
I guess that was more about Joebob. Like I said, it’s mostly PoE. I don’t think you need to claim right now, I want one from Barney and Joebob more.

@Casey_Risk
Process of Elimination. I used it in this context because we have a couple people who are safe-ish for now, and of those remaining, Joebob is the one who seems most convincingly scummy, but again, it’s the first DP, so none of this really matters in terms of who is most likely scum.

@ILikePie5
Joe was pretty late to claim what game he was from. I get that the same could be said about me, but I was ready to claim first, and when you started asking I was offline. Both of them have been kinda skating by with just a little fluff posting also, and we’re a little behind on claiming. All of this is pretty speculative though, and it is DP 1, so take all this with a grain of salt.

@ILikePie5
Probably Joebob? If not, then Savant. I’d prefer the former, but I’m kinda okay with either/or.

The participants of this discussion of the mafia kind, cordially invite you to participle in this fantastic game of mafia of the forum sort. You are also kindly asked to provide a claim as to the nature of the role you have been given by our wonderful mod.

If you want, I’m willing to claim character too. As you know find it easier for the town if everyone claims. I figure it benefits us more than it does scum to know each others role, and it gives us one more metric to decide on who to lynch.

@Best.Korea
You make some convincing points. I’m not saying that you’re necessarily wrong, it’s just that I feel like virtue with ethics kinda misses the point of moral philosophy in general. Creating good people that do good things is nice and all, but (in my opinion) that’s not really the problem that most moral philosophers are really trying to solve. I would phrase the question as, “can you find a rule that determines what a person should do in any given scenario”. Virtue ethics is good, but I feel like it misses the mark on that front. It not good to assume that just by becoming a good person, you automatically just “figure out” ethics. I would say that you become good by following a universal truth of ethics, and the real question is, “what is that universal truth”
Created:

@Best.Korea
I have two main problems with virtue ethics. Don’t get me wrong, Aristotle is great and all, but his lessons aren’t as applicable in our modern times.
My first critique would be how it doesn’t really tell you anything about what actions are good or not. It’s normally considered to be a part of the three main western philosophies on moral ethics, but I find it two be very different than the other two. You said that this makes it a more refined form of ethics, but I just think it kinda makes it not as helpful when discussing certain moral quandaries, such as the trolley problem. Utilitarianism says kill the one person, and deontology (I think) say about the same, but virtue ethics is just kinda confused.
The second thing that turns me off from it a bit, is the whole “golden mean” aspect. It holds true for some examples, but is there really a reason that you shouldn’t be too smart? Or knowledgeable? People often use generous as and good example, and I do believe this one does work. You don’t want to be a miser, but you also don’t want to be a total pushover. This doesn’t really work for everything though.
This is why I prefer some sort of pseudo-utilitarianism or T.M. Scalnon’s Contratualism, but let’s be honest, no ethical system is really perfect.

Scum Wins!
To speak frankly, WOW! I did not see that one coming. I thought that I had screwed the mafia over in the first DP when Best.Korea Basically solved the game. Unfortunate for the town, Korea started overthinking themselves too much.
Korea realized that if the mafia hadn’t been given fake claims that were among the main 6 characters, you could narrow it down to 3 possibilities. I was freaking out, because one of those three was easily confirmable, and I was sure that I had screwed up bad.
I wasn’t planning on giving the mafia fake char-claims, but seeing the dire straights I was in, I thought it only fair. I figured that they would still have to come up with the fitting roles. I had wanted to put either, Impa, Purah, or Robbie in the game, but couldn’t think up good roles, so I gave scum the opportunity to claim those ones. Also, I thought it was probable that they would have already thought to do that, seeing as they knew some roles already, and these three were the only ones left to claim based on what scum knew by then.
It was some really impressive playing on the part of scum, and this one is definitely going down in the history books. Anyways, I’ll just give you all the play by play with some added comments real quick.
Town:
* Joebob- You are Link, Knight protector of Zelda, and the one with the Master sword. You serve your kingdom with unmatched loyalty. When you are almost defeated you are sealed away to heal for 100 years and you come back to face Ganon. You are a Soldier, and are immune to one Mafia kill. You win with the town.
* Barney - You are Zelda, Princess of Hyrule, and the one vested with the power of the goddess Hylia, if only you could unlock your sacred sealing power. So you are a 1x Mafia roleblocker, sort of. Once per game, you can visit two players, and if one of them is mafia, their action is roleblocked. If both are mafia, the. The lethal action is blocked. If none are mafia, nothing gets blocked, but you are not told if your action was successful or not. You win with the town.
* Whiteflame - You are Daruk, Champion of the Gorons. You have the ability to protect yourself and others with a phantom shield. So you are a 100% succes bodyguard, sort of. You can choose to use your ability any NP, and if you do, the mafias kill is redirected on to you. You win with the town
* Best.Korea - You are Mipha, Champion of the Zora. You are gifted with ability to heal any wounds. Thus you are the 2x doctor. Two nights per game you choose one person, and they are immune to any Mafia lethal actions that night. You win with the town.
* Casey_Risk - You are Urbosa, Champion of the Gerudo, and a great fighter. You can also be a bit of a loose canon, and so you are a granny. If anyone visits you throughout the night, they automatically are killed. You win with the town. Tip: I recommend claiming early unless you want to cause total havoc
* Earth - You are Revali, champion of the Rito. Rito are a race of birdlike people who can fly. You also have a keen sense of sight, so you are a 2x Cop. Two nights per game you visit one player and I will tell you if they are guilty or not. You win with the town.
* Lunatic - You are King Roham, ruler of Hyrule. That’s pretty self explanatory I think. You are obviously the King, so once per game, you can throw caution to the wind and disregard all VTL’s to Lynch one person of your choosing. You win with the town.
Mafia
* Austin - You are Ganon, the reincarnation of Ganondorf, and master of the dark arts. You appear at a random time throughout the game, and catch everyone by surprise. Thus you are a 1x Total Role Blocker. On one night per game, you choose to activate your role, and then everyone in the game gets roleblocked. You win with the Mafia, and your fellow mafia man is Savant who’s character is Master Koga (It was so funny watching you guys try to figure out why so many people got roleblocked! You were like chickens with their heads cut off)
* Savant - You are Master Koga, the Leader of the Yiga Clan, and master of disguise. You can change your appearance at will, and use this power to impersonate people. Thus, you are the Stalker. Each night you visit one person and you will find their role and character by impersonating someone close to them. You may also use this power twice at the beginning of the game, as to inform your kills and claims. You win with the Mafia, and your fellow mafia man is Austin whose Character is Ganon. (I really liked the eye of Sauron mechanic from the last game, so I decided to keep it, and honestly, I think it worked pretty well, and could be even better with some tweaking)
DP 1 Actions:
Savant: Role/Char Cop on Whiteflame and Barney
NP 1 Actions:
Savant: Role/Char Cop on Korea
Austin: Total Roleblock and NK Earth
