@Bones
You're a contrarian by nature, not by choice, it would seem. You counter people and sometimes have skirted the rules during certain conflicts with how far you went to get a reaction out of your opponent (in the forums, not in debating). I see that you're very frustrated with religious doctrine being forced on people and that you have similar distaste for transgender politics. I am unsure what to say about your attitude and approach because the truth is I don't think much of it either way.
You're not necessarily my first read on the forums when I get online but every time I see your threads, there's something interesting inside, even due to the others that participate in the topics you create and engage with. You interest others and are a great participant to the website, I just don't feel you and I have engaged enough for me to have much of an opinion on you either way. I am also very secular, as for the other issue I feel you're conflating biology with sociology and psychology.

Well, someone is having a huge amount of free time.
As are you, it would seem. You're a young guy with a whole life ahead of you. I think you're an interesting thinker with many unique perspectives and the site benefits from your participation particularly in the debates section. As a person in China, with me as a microbiologist, I'd have enjoyed seeing more Covid-origin debates from you that defended China. I barely interact with pro-China people in my daily life, let alone online so your perspective would have been interesting.
I'd also be intrigued to read you debating Taiwan if/when the invasion occurs. It is important for us to never totally let go of people whose views run against the norm; that is the very heart of debating (other than competitively, where people can play devil's advocate). I feel you are more of a scientific thinker than a debate enthusiast and that your pull here is similar to my own. I'd love more science topics from you, keep up the good work and I wish you all the best in life. I am proud of you still using a debating website while in China and at your age, both take courage and pushing well outside the norm.

These are invariably entertaining. Go for it. What would whiteflame think of me?
Why are you referring to me in third person? Do you do that to yourself a lot, as well? You're hard to figure out, I would say I find you decently smart in the conventional sense. What I mean by that is that that some people appear less intelligent but are quite smart and/or creative in other ways but you seem smart in a more straightforward manner.
I don't care much for psychoanalysis, I just go with what people present to me and assess that and what you present is a smart, disciplined persona so that's what I think of you. I get that life gets in the way of your participation here often and am happy you return now and again.

A keener eye would predict he is Mall, regardless I always believe that something like this is best dealt with by taking it serious so someone lurking could stumble upon the advice.
I am also curious if he/she/they is/are this user: https://www.debateart.com/profiles/useablepiggy

your profile says you are 15, even if you were over 18 this would be concerning. this is all concerning, if you have access to this website and are sure the abuser isn't finding out, you can access this:
Obviously do not save it or print it if they are accessing your device. You can escape abuse if you live in US by contacting law enforcement in the right way at the right time, that website will help you come up with a tailored plan for your situation as far as I know.

Wylted, Wylted, Wylted... How do I say this? You are one of a kind. I find you entertaining and outspoken and you're great to spend time with now and again but I do understand that what you see as funny and I can maybe chuckle at in one way is offensive and gets people uptight in another. You are probably anti-everything if we come down to it, I don't care about your trolling, I see it for what it is an attempt at a cheap shot for a laugh. You're good at what you do and I wouldn't personally take it to heart if I didn't think other Jews, blacks, women and LGBTQ+ were offended by what you're doing.
I think you're a brave guy, you stand up for what you even don't believe in and I enjoy that but others don't. I'm also not certain where you got the idea we are as close as you say we are and didn't appreciate you dragging me into the presidential nominations for no real reason. Just because we voice chat and DM doesn't mean we're 'besties'. You have your issues, RM has his and honestly until Max ran, I was kind of on the fence about who I'd even vote. I am not sure what you want from me here, I dig playing mafia with you, I dig your wild debating style just behave yourself, keeping within the rules and we'll get along just fine.
You could be a great member of this website if you'd dedicate to the troll persona just that little bit less, I like the real you more than the DART you.

Well, it was surprising really, you went from a very shy and secretive guy who David just promoted out of nowhere to a very outspoken guy I consider a friend on here. You know your limits and respect the advice of others when it counts which counts for more than always having the best ideas yourself, if you ask me. I certainly remember this debate between us where I certainly gained respect for you as an opponent. In fact, I'd say it was one of my most enjoyable debates on the website.
I feel your life has gotten in the way of your activity here and that's understandable, enjoy it. You're a great guy Chris, the site could use more members like yourself. I know you like One-Punch Man and wish we could chat more about manga and anime.

Erm... Wouldn't you agree that your concept of right-wing politics itself makes no sense here?
The right thinks you should be allowed to fire someone for being LGBT because it's a business choice in their view. "There a private company; they can do what they want"(the same thing the left says about Big Tech censorship). The right thinks you should not be allowed to fire someone for being unvaccinated.
Also just for your information your 'there' is meant to be a 'they're' in case you care about that and want to improve it.

Excluding #1 which I feel is strawmanned, 2-6 are... Confusing to me.
Many right-wingers are anti-Iraq war and many left-wingers see Saddam Hussein as this evil sociopath/psychopath (which he was) that ought to have been taken down as he was.
Your question is the bipartisan hacked thing here, not the 'sides' you are dividing.
5) Firing someone for being gay/trans (which I side with the left on)
The right wing don't generally support this, only the far right do.
6) Firing someone for being unvaccinated (which I side with the right on)
Many right-wingers agree with this, what they disagree with is government mandates on it.

I think a lot of people look at me as 'Chief Moderator' of this website and either think 'wow, what a great guy' or 'omg, what a dweeb'. This approach (to me) seems to just happen a lot, I can't precisely put my finger on it but I'd say it's the fact that I care about everybody and yet also see their flaws all at once. People can't quite figure me out, I like it that way because most people get either too idealistic or too harsh a view of somebody when they're too 'real'. When I look in the mirror, I just see me, Dr. P. Who is he? That depends on the situation.
If I had to name my best ability, which if you ask me is difficult because I truly believe that I have to improve at everything and that I am not that brilliant at anything much at all, I'd say that openmindedness is my forte. Don't mistake me for being self-loathingly humble, I'm not saying being a microbiologist isn't great, I have a PhD and what I am researching, alongside my teams, is very likely going to change the world of agriculture. However, what I want you to understand is that guys with my background, what with wealthy parents pressuring me to get a typically good job and all that, with the social skills I had could have ended up in a much more manipulative walk of life and I most definitely wouldn't have ended up with the wonderful woman I have nor interacting with these oddities online. Even if I'd been a lawyer, I don't see myself as having had the same intellectual fire to me that came with what happened with my pursuit of microbiology. I fell in love with that just as I fell in love with debating and later on with my wife and life as I know it now.
I am truly happy with how life played out for me, I think a lot of people first seek achievement and then fulfillment and that's where they go wrong. You cannot be fulfilled until you know for sure that what you're doing is worthwhile. Do you think everyday being the Chief Moderator of DART is fun? Of course not, some days I want to click logout and never open it again because of some personalities that I won't name combining with a stressful day just making me feel 'oh hell, not anymore'. Some days I want to quit my job, some days I want to just party hard, game hard, weeb hard and spend all days on online forums not as a responsible, openminded member but a purely recreational shitposter but that's just not who I am, it's not who I was born to be. I don't know why I get a kick out of being responsible and I certainly never thought I'd end up such an extroverted, charismatic guy at this stage in life, back in my teens, yet here I am and I must say I am so grateful for every step of that journey.
I truly cherish everybody in my life, even the ones that made it unpleasant and difficult. I see it all as a test, in that way you could say I am genuinely Jewish though I'd never deny how secular I am. I truly believe that I am being tested day in, day out and I thrive on proving to myself that I can be an honest, kindhearted, tolerant and generous human being no matter how many people prove to me that the world doesn't reward that and no matter how down in the dumps I feel. That's what being a human is all about; battling your demons and coming out this optimistic, resilient adventurer. I don't really relate to protagonists or antagonists in the mangas and animes I've grown to love, I tend to relate to a variety of support characters... On the other hand, I seem to end up in positions of responsibility and influence everywhere I go and pour my heart into, I think what people are drawn to is that when it comes down to it, I appreciate you as much as the next guy. I genuinely don't care about this whole 'best friend' 'archenemy' concept in Animes, I find it cringe, the reason I watch them is for the character development and art, that's what I love. I don't care much for worrying if Naruto or Sasuke end up with Sakura, I don't understand why Aizen went all megalomaniac when he had a good thing going in the Soul Society, I just do my thing, appreciate others doing their thing and make my way in life.
I would like to end this on a massive disclaimer though; obviously, I do have favorites. The only favorite you guys need to know about is my wonderful wife and immediate family IRL. The rest is my business and I'll keep it that way. I don't 'like' them more than others, I respect them more and genuinely appreciate the type of people they are more. It's different to affection, it is straight up appreciation and admiration. If I cannot admire who you are as a person, you are not likely to be my favorite and that's perfectly alright.

This is the abusive pattern of behaviour that led me to block you in the first place. I will engage your content, but please work on your character. I don't really care about the protests if I'm honest, I just think making any media about Islam that challenges or disrespects a sect's belief is asking for trouble. These are (as collectives, not accusing every individual) the most thin-skinned ethnicities and/or sects of believers out there, everybody knows how dangerous they can be when offended and how easily they get offended.
I would just steer clear of it, after all the really optimal way to make Islam wane over time (from a pragmatic perspective) in the West is to have barely any media making it seem interesting; let their protests work against them.

Notwithstanding those who break off personal or professional relationships for political reasons, it still does not merit the use of a political keyword, a fixed idea of the right which is in itself a piece of propaganda and nothing more.
It actually also refers to what the far right did under Hitler and still do in many Sharia right-wing countries (ironic that is it predominantly the right wing conservatives are worries about Islam spreading and influencing the West, when Islam is a greater enemy of the left wing, liberal agenda)... not sure if you realise you are the one brainwashed by loaded partisan propaganda which makes you assume the phrase 'cancel culture' is an invention to hurt your precious (looks at profile) 'libertarian' agenda that you have been programmed to conflate all issues the News feeds you to conflate with each others.
I am not brainwashed whatsoever, that is why I can use a term the right wing LIBERTARIANS (you fool...) coined, since it is a brilliant phrase regardless who it came from...
I empathize with your personal issues, but the existence of oversensitive people is not at all the outgrowth of the left,
I know. I am a diehard progressive who does not conflate transgender issues with gay rights issues nor with my agenda to make life fair on the poor and less able, which is the core of my left-wing alignment, not the social issue of transgenderism.
How can we be feminist if we deny what a female is? I am a huge fan of JK rowling's hard stance on the matter and empathise with TERFs while still being a men's rights advocate and appreciating what Depp just did for male victims of abuse.
or any circumscribed "culture" or ethnicity which is what this phrase is attempting to portray. Likewise, with terms like "grooming" - the right is intentionally rolling out these terms in an attempt to gain linguistic territory. Even to entertain these phrases as part of one's vocabulary, is to have given part of one's brain over to something vast and inhuman, to become an advertising robot on behalf of the forces of fascism
That is quite ironic and amusing. You made a thread saying the conservatives should stop crying and use terms the others demand them to, yet you are too stubborn and proud to use 'cancel culture' just because they coined the term. This could not be more ironic.

Gender is simply related to people's identity in a fundamentally different way from any of those other facets.
No, that is logically fallacious in both ends of the double standard.
We cannot simply compare across them and apply the same rules.
We can.
For example, ethnicity is inherently tied to both heritage (family lineage) and biology
Actually, that is a biological-normative social construct. Research the actual definition of ethnicity and contrast it to race, we as a society do to ethnicity what conservatives do to gender.
, as well as one's entire cultural surrounding,
Eminem grew up with predominantly african american cultural surroundings. Is he that ethnicity under your understanding?
while species and age have important ethical connections to one's level of agency.
Not the one you like other people to call you, just the one you really are, like a male person roleplaying as a woman 24/7 and vice versa telling us to respect that roleplay as if it were real.
Gender, on the other hand is linked to one's self-expression,
Furries blatantly want to self express their fantasy to be a species they are not. Same with the age thing.
to their sexual life,
There are kinks linked to furry and/or age regressive play. There are all sorts of parallels here actually.
and the interplay between the genders is a dynamic which is internal to the particular culture - it is a category which you can't simply compare to any others which apply cross-culturally to an extent. The difference is in being different - they aren't the same thing.
Are males the same as females? I am curious where you draw this difference focus from if you are saying we should ignore differences when people get offended.

The idea of using male or female pronouns is not incompatible with the philosophy of someone who would not use that pronoun. I am male and was born male, but it doesn't mean I'm "fundamentally against" they/them.
I have come across people who are pro trans and anti they/them. I have also come across many trans people who justified their transition as 'I didn't like my original body so of course I wanted that one'. I didn't ask if you as a cis male approve of genderqueers or not, nor did I imply cis people factored into my noticing of a contradiction.
It is their freedom to do so, in my opinion it doesn't even matter if they "need to" do it - they have the choice to identify however they want to.
This is where the transphobic 'toaster' and 'helicopter' identification come to mind. It's one-way respect. Society mocks furries and wouldn't call a person who thrives and enjoys roleplaying as a dog or chimpanzee as being identified that way, nor would they ever allow a person to engage in a lot of plastic surgery and use face paint to transition race and ethnicity. They would never allow a 78 year old who wants to feel like a young woman or man to identify as that age in any official capacity... In constrast, we are the devil to hold people to the same standard with their gender (which was always meant to be 'sex' it was male vs female, you didn't list 'man' or 'woman' and still don't list that next to this slot called 'gender' on official forms).
I use desired pronouns to avoid beef with them and cancel culture. Then you can rest assured because in fact "cancel culture" is an entirely fabricated talking point invented by right wing think tanks. I would advise that you say what is really on your mind rather than censoring yourself to avoid criticism.
It isn't. I've experienced it first-hand in my own household on other matters. It's very real, my household growing up leans/leaned left-wing but I am fully aware that the right-wing has their own variation of cancel culture such as not daring to talk pro-choice etc in certain households. I'd be alienated by my (expecially extended) family and friends (or rather, aquaintances) if I would dare be open about my outlook on certain matters. I won't specify my IRL career status and fear with regards to my account here being linked to the real me or certain opinions and kinks I have. I am certain there'd be some negative impact but nothing life-threatening. Anybody blackmailing has a lot stacked against them, I have levels to how hard cancel culture can truly affect me, I am not very famous or anything too fragile. I make sure the people I rely on for income (bosses and/or people who could get me fired and/or barred from places I generate income) like me beyond what Internet beef is likely to cause or can't hurt me if they dislike me and for years have stayed completely off social media in any outspoken sense.
So, I am fully aware how real cancel culture is, I am just in a personal position where I don't have deep fear of it.

Taoism and Buddhism teach to readily let go of attachments and continually adapt with the flow of life.
I benefit from the Taoist mindset during times like this. Attachments cause pain; pain for the sake of attachment is simply psychological masochism, if one cannot get back what is lost.

To be fair, as a proud Brit I think yu'd oppose certain depictions of British royalty and/or heritage.
Islam is more than a religion to those protesters, it is their culture and way of life/being. We all know they are quite thin-skinned when it comes to media productions, so in my opinion this producer was truly asking for trouble.
They are not a religion of peace, however they are still there and to imagine they'd accept such a production is fairly ridiculous.

The trans people who go from he to she or she to he often are phobic and fundamentally against the philosophy of the they/them genderqueers. They mistake each other for allies because they have been low on numbers so far and had to oppose heteronormativity together but trans he to she and she to he is heteronormative, they just switched alignment.
I do not believe a person needs to go by pronouns of another gender in order to be happy in life, their discomfort with their body and birth-assigned sex run far deeper than the momentary joy being called he or she in their new gender gives them. Psychiatry is being pressured into ignoring many non-affirming elements and approaches to treating patients the moment that the patient says they believe they are 'the other gender' (what happened to there being more than two?)
I use desired pronouns to avoid beef with them and cancel culture. I have other things to worry about than the gender somebody wishes to be, even if that person were my cousin or something (I do not need a family feud over such a thing and these people usually enjoy drama, you cannot quietly tell him/her/them your view without them telling others that they know and getting people to force you into silence and an apology).
