In my ideal society there'd be no parades or this bullshit, not even "hi I'm gay. How are you, today?" just straight up no one caring what the fuck you're attracted to so long as it's consensual and pleasant for all parties involved.

I don't really get the point of these events, it's like I should be ashamed for finding men less alluring than women or be less proud and amazed with myself for being a cis male.

I am a man and I'm attracted to women, I am proud of that in a quiet way. If you're a man who is attracted to men or even attracted to things that are taboo, it comes down to consent and pleasure. If everyone is feeling pleasure and consent is absolute with the long-term psychological effects being beneficial for all, then what you're involved in, be it polygamous or not, is healthy and something to feel no shame in.

Having had some personal chats with him on PM, I agree with you. He is just an eccentric atheist who has seen the dark side of Christianity he's not actually insane or a troll.

Alec is much more skilled than I first anticipated. He simply wasn't trying. I have seen in a couple of his latest debates a side to him I didn't know was there.

It is both random and therefore fate because fate is random generation of reality in a brutally organised manner post-creation whereby the creation makes sense of itself due to the inevitable links and patterns that form and eventually there will be one supreme conscious entity that does the organising for Fate (this being is named Fiora by me but 'God' by most).

Well the US is a culture that is much more chatty than 'hush and get on with life' so that wouldn't disprove me at all.

With regards to your topic, that's not an India-issue that's an issue with all cultures where the ethos is 'shut up and get on with life.'

It just happens to be that India is a nation with a severe tendency towards that ethos. If it's any consolation, all cultures have some degree of taboo topics (all which should be debated but never will be).

An example could be this website and what is happening here with voting and such. The flaw of allowing stupid people to have as much say as intelligent people in debate voting is actually the core issue, no matter how strict and/or superficially fair you moderate the votes. This is something you'd never get away with actually debating and the rage of voters here who feel they may be one of the stupid ones (or that some of their close friends who vote for them are the stupid ones) would be immense.

A topic such as women's equality or how poor people are treated in Indian society isn't going to hit the stage of debating in the community. It's too taboo and outrage-inciting for it to be brought up,
