Todays is Pesach Sheini (the second Passover) also known as Pesach Katan or Pesach Zeira (small or young Passover). It is the result of some people's ineligibility to partake in the initial Passover offering because of their spiritual impurity. They asked for an opportunity to be part of the ritual once they had cleansed themselves, so God set up a day one month after the Passover for them to have a small version of the holiday.

The Jews never created the concept of Messiah.  It goes back far further than Jacob.  Did the Jews demand that Jesus be crucified?  Some did and some didn't.  The first thousands of Christians were Jewish.  Go and have a look at Acts and the time of Pentecost.  Clearly thousands of Jews became Christians.  Mostly, as I understand the Gospels, it was the religious leaders - who were threatened and wanted Jesus out of the way. 

Your second sentence is also incorrect.    The Romans who killed Jesus were soldiers acting on the instructions of Pilate who was trying to stop a revolt by the Jewish people.   The Roman Catholic Church really did not become a thing for hundreds of years afterwards. In fact the Christian church was initially a Jewish sect that then ingrafted Gentiles and was spread around the then Israel, Africa and Turkey.  It also drifted across to Greece and Rome and Spain and even into Britain. Plus there were many Christians heading East towards Arabia and China.  

Yes, eventually the Roman church split from the East and became its own church.  But these people did not have any connection to those who crucified Christ, save and except that they were human and some of them came - perhaps from Rome.  Please remember that many Roman Soldiers were in fact slaves who had be conscripted into the Roman army and came from captured lands, like Gaul and Spain and many other places.  Your sentence is so bad it is laughable. 

Your third sentence is also incorrect.  Christians do believe in forgiveness but not from a dead Jew.  Jesus not only died but rose from the dead.  The fact that a small Jewish cult started in the backwaters of the world to become the largest religion in the world didn't happen in a vacuum. Christians worship God - Jesus who is alive. 

Atheists by and large are reasonable people.  As are Christians, Muslims, Jews, and other religious persons.  Like any group - most are reasonable and a few are extremists and zealots.  Even some atheists are complete nutters and irrational.  And delusional.  

Nevertheless, this topic was never about Atheists being delusional - it was about - some and not all - who would expect others to answer questions and yet never do the same themselves - since Atheists have no doctrine save - there is no god.  The responses of many atheists on this topic have demonstrated that not all atheists are cowards.  I affirm that. For the sake of cleanliness, bathing is allowed (except on the fast of the ninth of Av, itself, but even then, some washing for cleanliness and ritual purposes is allowed.

Also, the prohibition for clothing has to do with "freshly laundered" clothes. So they get laundered before the 9 days starts and shaken out, laid on the floor briefly or worn quickly and taken off so they aren't "freshly laundered" but are still clean.

Judaism views prayer as a necessary component to Jewish practice but it breaks prayer into separate categories. Only one small section of prayer is equated to "ask." Prayers are more often either praise of recognition/thanks (or, in another sense, permission).

A prayer therefore can be structured as "thank you for being you, God" or "I have this obligation to do something so I'm recognizing that I have this obligation" or "I know that the whole world belongs to God so before I do ____ it is important for me to acknowledge that."

That leaves that small section of "please grant me _____" and even those are for more general ideas, not for specific items. Though individuals can add in private requests, we "ask" about big concepts, not things. But even on that level, because asking for big ideas is not appropriate on the Sabbath and holidays, those sections are omitted so the prayer can just be about praise and recognition/thanks.

People outside of Judaism seem to see "askling" as a central and intrinsic part of prayer and they therefore measure their prayer by "getting an answer." But if you see prayer as not about asking, then you don't judge its efficacy by some discernable response.

I don’t agree. There is absolutely nothing in the New Testament BIBLE that shows anything contrary to what Matthew 10:34 actually states and means. And, there are many other verses that clearly show that Jesus ‘ appearance in Palestine as a king returned to claim his throne and title would create conflict/war with Rome, it was unavoidable, which in turn would create division of opinions within the family. These difference of opinions would, as Jesus himself admits, set “'a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter in law against her mother in law a man's enemies will be the members of his own household."

You see, there is no doubt that the reason for this is simple. Generations of Jews at the time had been Hellenised after centuries of influence under the Greek rule and their gods (weren’t even the gospels recorded in Greek?). So here we had an older generation still aligned to or hadn’t forgotten their Old Testament god Yahweh while the younger generations were not; “the children of Israel had gone astray”..

The BIBLE clearly tells us that Jesus’ “mission” was to unite those Jews that had been “lost” Matthew 15:24 under one god and one rule.

   In short Jesus was building an army. And I believe there is evidence in the New Testament that does go some way in proving this. And, as with all ends of conflict, there would be the peace under one god and one rule and Jesus believed himself to be the man to bring this peace about. This is a recurring pattern throughout the whole of the BIBLE….. if not the whole of history. Many Jews were happy with the situation under Greek rule as were many happy under Babylonian rule so much so many decided to remain in Babylon and many were full and active members of Babylonian society. After some 70+ years many Jews prospered. It is easy to imagine that many second and third generation Jewish Babylonians had no interest in leaving. The fast of the 17th of Tammuz is observed this year on this coming Sunday (though the date is actually Saturday, we push it off so that we do not fast on the Sabbath).

This begins a 3 weeks period of mourning and introspection culminating in the fast of the 9th of the month of Av (also, pushed to a Sunday).

The first fast is a "dawn til nightfall" fast on which only eating and drinking are forbidden. The 9th of Av is a 25 hour fast which has additional limitations on behavior.

This is a reversal of the month of mourning after the loss of a family member. In that time of personal mourning, our sadness lessens slightly over a month so the restrictions get less and less.
