No one else vtl oromagi just yet. If two people suddenly jump on and vtl him, and he flips town, then we may just assume that those two people are scum.

oromagi anagram, for anyone who wants to crack it: (a removable ten plain sacks, phew!)
From post 129.

@ILikePie5
You’re assuming GP is my teammate. I’m not defending him at all. He’s null on my list. I just pointed out (like you did) that him claiming his role after isn’t affiliation indicative.
It was a hypothetical, not an assumption. I was not saying that you were his teammate. I was wondering that, if you were, would you defend him in such a manner?

Second: Barney vs. oromagi. I would be comfortable lynching either of them. Oromagi, because of his early inactivity. As for Barney, I didn't think the original reason Pie scumread him was significant (not nothing, but not significant either). However, his response to the pressure has been uncharacteristically strong. Defensiveness isn't necessarily unusual, but the certainty that Pie and GP are scum is quite unusual.

@Earth
This is a lot to take in. First of all, Earth, because responding to him is the easiest.
Town are teams that made it to the Superbowl, but lost. The theme IS NOT teams that never won a superbowl. There is a difference.
There are only 8 teams that have made it to the Super Bowl but never won. Unless you propose 4 mafia or 3 mafia and 1 TP in a 12 player game, we can dismiss this theory.

Things to look into:
As mafia, has Pie ever defended his teammate like this?
Has Barney ever been this certain in a scumread before? I don't remember him being this convinced and assertive before.

@Barney
In your first few dashboards, you had GP on the town side. Does that accurately represent how you were reading him at the time?

Wow, it took me all of 60 seconds to reread his posts. Now let me think about them.

@ILikePie5
I'll have to reread his posts and think about that, which I don't have time to do right now. I'll get back to you this evening about it.

@ILikePie5
I refuse to use it as a matter of principle. It would, of course, be futile to ask me which principle.

Totally unrelated note: I believe that is the first time I have ever written that acronym in a post, not counting copy-pasted quotes I'm replying to.

Interesting. Well I’m writing up my reads list so don’t go to sleep
This post by Pie is interesting, since badger never said anything about going to sleep. Probably it's nothin and Pie just remembered what time zone badger is in.

@badger
That plus I don't like how he seems to play the game through WF/you.
Speed or Chris? Also, I don't quite get your meaning.
My scumreads are always going to sound dumb.
No worries. Mine always sound dumb after the game because I'm usually wrong.

@That2User
That's refreshingly honest. I remember I got burned by Lunatic in my first mafia game. I like him, but I don't trust him a bit in mafia.

@That2User
Which is also true of Speedrace. Why single out Whiteflame?
To be clear, I'm not defending Whiteflame (so far there hasn't been any accusations anyway). I just don't want town to take a lazy lynch for no good reason.

Rereading the DP. Writing down a random observation so I don't forget. Early on Whiteflame and Speedrace were exchanging casual remarks about their personal lives. If they were mafia together, it would seem more natural to do that on Discord. Maybe that's just me. Probably doesn't mean much.

@That2User
All of that is even more true of Speedrace. Why single out Whiteflame?

@That2User
Also, he isn't unique in being hard to read. Earth is hard to read because he posts so little. Speedrace is famously hard to read. Why single out Whiteflame?

@That2User
I don't think it's a good strategy to lynch him because he's hard to read, or at least not in DP1. Whiteflame is hard to read because he's a good player who puts effort into the game (or at least he did last time I played). Statistically, he's more likely to be town than mafia. If we have reason to lynch him later, then we can. I don't want to lose a good player this early just because he's hard to read.

I forgot oromagi.
Oromagi - He went from not posting at all to posting a lot really fast, mostly about the theme. He seems to be his usual self, but I really don't like how long it took him to start posting.

A few reads I haven't done yet.
Earth - Extremely inactive. Five posts or so. Impossible to tell his affiliation as a result. Unless he has a power role, town would lose little if he was lynched.
Badger - Seems pretty pro-town now that he's sober. I don't know how he plays as mafia, so I can't write him off. Still, he seems towny for now.
That2 - Has been posting a little more. Seems pretty town.
Chris - As with the above two, he seems towny. That being said, I seem to recall that he seems towny as mafia as well.
Whiteflame - I still don't know how to read him.

Regarding possible lynches: I would be fine with Earth due to extreme inactivity. I also would not be opposed to oromagi because of how long it took him to become active. I'll need to think some more about other possibilities.

@badger
Ah. Not too surprising. The odds of correctly guessing the theme without any flips to base it off are quite low.
Created:
Posted in:
If oro's theory about Pie and Badger being the Vikings and Lions is correct, that would be a minimum of five teams that have never won the Super Bowl.
Created:

@oromagi
May not be a very likely theme, then. The minimum number of teams in the game that haven't won a Super Bowl is 3, assuming no one is lying about their division. And that is the absolute minimum. It's likely higher.

I agree with Danielle that we won't get far with theme this DP. We'll have to wait until we have some flips for that.

Here is a list of teams that have won the Super Bowl. https://ftw.usatoday.com/2019/11/super-bowl-wins-teams
Regarding current claims: The Seahawks have won the Super Bowl. The Falcons and Texans have not.

Lots of theme analysis, I see.
I am not the Seahawks. I would have run Marshawn Lynch.

@Barney
VTL Barney
Claim your conference and division please.
Created:

On the other hand, if the theme split is one division vs. the rest, surely mafia wouldn't be dumb enough to all claim the same division.

Do thoughts exist after you've finished thinking them?

I'd forgotten that, but it's a good point. His continued inactivity doesn't look good.

That's what I thought until I looked at a bunch of his recent games.
