Alright, long story short, I'm buying the claim. It's partially because you waited this long that I am buying it because a) it's not really a CC to Earth's claim, so it doesn't look like an attempt to shift a lynch to him, b) you're not really pushing back on the GP lynch, so you're not trying to derail that lynch, and c) it's just generally an odd claim and a weird time to make it if your goal was to accomplish something with it. Maybe that's part of the point: to provide an innocuous, weird, largely unprovable role (especially since you said you wouldn't use it due to the risk) with a rather odd justification to make yourself look pretty townie with little effort. However, I really don't think that this is a fake claim given to you by the mod, and it's rather odd for scum to point out that they likely only got character claims, since that would make any role claim risky and therefore the weird ones (like babysitter) inherently sus. All of this could be some complex effort to make town more likely to accept a weird claim, but at the moment, I'm having trouble believing that this is some kind of scum end run.

Sure. I am the Arizona Cardinals. My justification, in my opinion, is pretty dumb (No offense meant, Mharman). I am the babysitter because, according to Mharman, the Arizona Cardinals hire a lot of experienced players, making them the retirement home of the NFL.

I'm not sure who I want to lynch this DP. I think there's a higher chance of Earth being scum than anyone else, but I must confess to being terrified to go down that route. I distrust my own reasoning. I think there's a good chance he is town. If he was lynched and flipped town, then I would likely be next, and town would lose.
My read on GP is null. He seems to be playing rather typically. Town would lose little from lynching him, though. I don't like his lynch train, but I don't dislike it either.
Chris is almost certainly town.
That2, badger, and wylted lean town.
Danielle, Speed, and whiteflame are null for me. Speed isn't as active as I like, which isn't a good sign, but may not mean much either.
As I frequently do, I find myself without any good scum reads.

He claims that he doctored Pie last night, and guesses that a strongman or roleblocker nullified his doctoring. At first, this seems very towny, since no scum would want to admit to visiting their NK. However, I don't think it is either towny or scummy. His claims are certainly plausible. But if he were scum, then he could avoid being called out by a possible tracker by just honestly saying that he visited Pie. Since mafia strongmen and roleblockers are so common, no one would think twice about it. Thus, this point doesn't provide much indication about his affiliation.

Regarding a potential GP lynch: Town wouldn't lose much from it, since his role is useless and he isn't contributing much. On the other hand, I don't really scumread him. Aside from not claiming his role in his first post, he seems to be playing a fairly standard GP game.

On the other hand, Mharman did say that he would answer hypothetical questions, so I suppose scum could get the answer to that rather easily. So I may as well answer it. Both the scum and I would die in that case. So my role does have some utility as a weak suicide bomber.

I think that I need to claim. I've been going back and forth with this for the last 24 hours, and the only conclusion I've reached is that if I choose to claim, that will be the wrong decision, and if I choose not to, that will also be the wrong decision. But while claiming now definitely has its downsides, I think claiming later would be even worse.
I am the babysitter. If scum NKs the person I babysit, they will survive. However, if I am NKed, both me and the person I babysit will die.
I am claiming because my role is a potential counterclaim to Earth's role. As such, were I to claim it in a later DP, people would naturally believe Earth and lynch me, potentially costing town the game. However, I say potential counterclaim because I am not quite sure that it is a counterclaim. I will go through both sides here, because I'm really not sure.
In favor of counterclaim:
Obviously, both Earth and I are claiming protective roles. Worse, I confirmed with Mharman that if a doctor and a babysitter guarded each other, neither could be NKed. I will ask him again publicly for transparency's sake. Thus, the existence of both roles as town is potentially game-breaking - but not quite. My role has a limitation on how I can use it, which I will not reveal because that would help mafia much more than town. Thus, Earth and I would not be able to indefinitely protect each other. However, it would be possible at least some of the time. So while it isn't quite game-breaking, it's close.
Furthermore, Mharman mentioned that some mafia fake claims are better than others. If Earth is mafia, doctor is almost certainly a provided fake claim, since no mafia in their right mind would fake claim doctor. However, because it is a near counterclaim to my role, it is not as good as some other possible fake claims.
Against a counterclaim: As I stated earlier, our roles, if both exist as town roles, don't quite break the game. Furthermore, mine has the potential to kill two townies for the price of one. Thus, his role might counterbalance mine, although Chris's role might also serve as a counterbalance.
Furthermore, when Pie asked Mharman whether he had given mafia fake role claims or fake character claims, Mharman said he gave them character claims. I asked Mharman if that implied that mafia had no fake role claims, and he, for good reason, refused to answer. However, one could interpret Mharman's statement as implying that mafia only has fake character claims. If this is the case, then no mafioso in their right mind would fake claim doctor.
Overall, I don't know what to think. I've been going back and forth for 24 hours and finally decided that it was better to claim and let town know about this. If you choose to criticize my decision... you're probably right. I've resigned myself to the fact that whichever decision I reached would be the wrong one.
As for whether I am risking being NKed by claiming a power role, I don't really care that much. Because my role has the potential to kill two townies, I'm not using it, so I'm not too different from a vanilla.

It wouldn't be 100% confirmation, but it would be pretty close. It's hard to imagine that a game Lunatic worked on would have lynchproof mafia or a Judas after he experienced the fiasco of a game in which I was Judas.*
*Which was a fun game, but hopelessly unbalanced. If I had been lynched in the first DP, mafia would have won instantly.

And you are seriously overestimating how much that information would help us. Suppose we start a lynch train on GP and someone says they have an innocent on him. That doesn't prevent a mislynch. That just changes the odds of a mislynch from 7/10 to 6/9. That sacrifices a power role for a 3.33% smaller chance of a mislynch.

I don't think Wylted is going to be mafia. I was thinking last DP that if Barney was mafia, he would have voted oro. His voting down Greyparrot till the end felt like townie stubbornness. I mean, I was also considering that he and oro might have been mafia together, but since oro flips town, I think Barney is probably town. Mafia would have been trying to stay alive there, voting the next person with a high number of votes on them, not stubbornly voting like he was.
As much as I disliked Barney's defensiveness, this argument makes sense to me.

Wow, there was some actual activity today.
Regarding the accusations against whiteflame: Wylted's case against whiteflame is, quite frankly, the worst I've ever seen, and I've been personally targeted by some dumb ones. That2's case boils down to "He's hard to read and good at defending himself," which is true of several different players in this game. Singling out, and possibly even obsessing over, whiteflame makes no sense.
