I found myself curious that you appropriated what can be presumed a political ideology (conservatism) fitting for Islam in the UK, whilst among evangelical Christianity in the United States you mentioned fundamentalism which is essentially a slightly more liberal philosophy conforming with orthodoxy, but with different traditions and not "within the church".

I have a couple of suggestions. If you can, clarify the point in contention so that people can say...differentiate between the conflict and the means, targeting areas with bystanders, picking your friend's nose, etc... When you say "did they go to far" that would seem to point towards some question of proportionality like president Trump would have had to consider as head of the armed forces when the Assad regime was terrorizing civilians with chemical WMD's. Another problem you have is 100 years of history (to my knowledge) associated with the IRA.

The United States cover a landmass about the size of the entire continent of Europe which can present difficulties in comparison with smaller nation states. Three Scandinavian countries, Norway, Finland, and Sweden, have a population slightly greater than the state of New York, around 20 million people. The North East tip of the US called New England is comprised of the states Maine, Vermont, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, and has around 15 million Americans. Sweden has a population of around 10 million, the rest somewhere just north of 5 million.

That isn't how it works and you know it. There isn't a gallery to play to Steve here - there's only me, you and maybe 2-3 other people half following this thread. You are part of a network sharing stories, videos and links that are useful for demonising Islam and Muslims. Elements of mainstream media - such as the Mail and Express - are also on the anti-immigrant/anti-Islam bandwagon.The constant diet of anti-Muslim propaganda has had an profound effect. A lot of people seem to have assumed that 'pig' letter was writtenby a Muslim, rather than, say, a passionate vegan! The same for the attack on two girls on a London bus a couple ofdays ago - many people assumed it was 'Muslims', not yobs high on alcohol and hormones! I am not saying it wasn't Muslims - I am saying the widely held assumption that it was muslims shows that the scapegoating of Muslims has already occurred.
This looks like a societal matter.

What is the difference between a social democrat and a democratic socialist? As I understand the former perceives injustice and is inclined to use government intervention to regulate imperative aspects of the economy within a liberal capitalist framework. A democratic socialist views social democracy as a means to an end of transitioning from capitalism.

Generally, being in custody, temporary basis on restraining order type stuff, explicit severe threats, like you literally aren't in the right. I believe spouses have rights, and a lower threshold needs to be available than something that would have consequences for their family.
Taking stuff away and covering the world in protective foam isn't the only option. Lots of bad things happen that could have been avoided in a multitude of ways by reaching out to people with risk factors and their loved ones.

God is the only being called God that I know of. Allah happens to be Arabic, not Islamic, and continues to be spoken by Christians and Muslims with reverence. Speaking of "a god" as if to just another entity probably wouldn't make sense assuming people don't practice paganism.

So this person broke the law and even though you don't believe law breakers should be able to own guns you think that this particular law breaker has every right to own a gun and kill people.
I don't have enough information on his intentions. Its very common and practical for family to borrow and exchange their guns for whatever reason, especially among the poor, and normally there should be appropriate provisions in the law to allow for that so that common folk can intuitively stay on the safe side of the law. He would lose his legal right, not because he broke the law, but because he reported the event to police and upon investigation they found he was in possession of an unregistered handgun handed down from his father and he was charged with a felony. There are states that have legal requirements for permits and transfer where this would not have happened. A felony is the threshold, not breaking the law. I think there should be a course of appeals for some felons to get back on equal footing.
Why not give every law breaker a gun?

Well as far as the charge goes, the law is the law. There really should be room for discretion at the very least for close family. Its possible he even owned other guns that have been passed down for generations (before the registrations) and now he would have no legal right to them, and no equal footing to defend himself in the future.

The No Fly list was implemented to regulate boarding on commercial aircraft. There are licenses for flying of course. There are no prerequisites to buying an airplane. I'm unsure of international flight policy.

the point is that you're making too much out of the right to a gun, and people who fly could get just as touchy but that's not how we act. if people want a formal way to verify everything in court, that's fine, but it's just a formality. the underlying standard should be the same in court as in the list outside of court,,... reasonable suspicion of criminal activity is enough to deprive them of a gun. not probable cause that they already committed a violent crime. courts use 'strict scrutiny' in depriving constutituional rights, so it's debateable in that framework.
You can still buy a private plane and fly without harassment if you are on the "No Fly List". A solid analogy would probably have to do with passing check points.

That's a fair point. You don't need a fully automatic machine gun with a 30 round mag for self defense. Sure, you can waste ammo faster, but a slow and steady six shot revolver would probably still render good service to the people on such a list.

You know, people can have kind of a double standard on abortion, like if someone doesn't acknowledge the rare opportunity America has going for it, and they go off casually referencing totalitarians confiscating property and censoring free speech, they might be perceived beyond matter of disagreement and come off as cringey. Do you have any understanding of what kinds of concerns people have on abortion as it pertains to the relationship of the people and their government? Open minded people are still going to be naturally concerned that if the things you are proposing are transitioned improperly that America could devolve into subjectship more like the United Kingdom, or worse like some of the former Spanish colonies.

I think there's a principle some people associate with the No Fly list and then there's the reality of how the No Fly list was conceived.
A big problem for retrofit as I understand it is that the No Fly list is already somewhat flawed as it is. Just by being associated with sensitive Intel, you could wind up being heavily monitored, and taking the principle to an extreme, people could even be selectively effected who really need to be thinking about some means to defend themselves.
I think a new federal program needs to be built from the ground up, and of course enacted through cooperation with the states.

The reporting is pretty bad, offering no details of the altercation, not even stating whether the pregnant lady was armed or how far she went and what crimes she committed in the process. If someone commits a crime of course they could be held liable for the damages. She might not have been charged for miscarriage as they do in other countries, but the sentiment is a fair reminder none the less. It would be nice if people would talk more about what women are going through.
I found the racist victim culture bleeding through from the author to be unhelpful, to say the least.

This is a myth. Service rifles are designed for durability, consistency, training, maintenance, fighting, and survival in adverse conditions. The ammunition is designed for killing, but often the rationale ends up being something like what will poke people farther than the German Kurtz Round, or what will poke further than the than the communist AK-47 or what will put a horse down at xxx yards, what will penetrate barriers or armor. What can we supply to the front lines? What can a soldier hold on them, and what can we expect of them with our available resources?

The question you were supposed to be "answering" is literally asking you to provide an explanation without assuming any of the subjects in question. When you say "they're" the expectation is that you are providing an explanation that doesn't assume both a church and state, so it was not reasonable for anyone else to do so either without you providing additional context as to what "they" are.
