Goodbye Everyone.
Goodbye, everyone.
I have decided to leave DebateArt.

With school starting, I need to concentrate on doing schoolwork so I can get into a good college. I can’t afford to spend time on debating anymore. While this is a fun hobby, my education is much more important to me.

I also want to spend more time doing athletics and I would like to try and find a boyfriend.

Goodbye my friends Loverof12343, christopher_best, Dr.Franklin, Club, TheRealNihilist, Athias, PhilSam95, K_Michael, Speedrace, DebateArt.com, Virtuoso, Pinkfreud08, Phenenas, Alec. Thank you for everything.

Goodbye my opponents crossed, Nicko75442, GuitarSlinger, Mharman, Wylted. Since I’m leaving, I won’t be able to finish my debates with you. I concede all of them, you can win.

Goodbye all other DART users, it was a pleasure being on this website and debating with you. If I was ever rude to any of you, or harmed you in any way, I apologize.

Thank you everyone for everything. Good luck and goodbye.

The dictionary has everything to do with it, because you're saying that "scout" is a gender-specific word. And I'm asking you to show me one dictionary where it says that.

You see, I don't get enjoyment from constantly telling others how genius I am. People that do usually have a very low self-esteem. I can be perfectly proud of my achievements without shouting that I'm better than other people at every corner. If someone who is telling you to stop bragging is "dragging you down", then it must be very easy to drag you down, RM.

I don't know if anyone told you this, but other people don't like when you brag about your achievements. Having someone constantly tell you how smart and better than others they are can be annoying.

"Now just think, why would the word "scout" in relation to the topic under discussion, be inherently gender specific."
It wouldn't, because it's not gender specific. "Scout" is a gender-neutral word that can be used for both boys and girls. Find me a single dictionary that says otherwise.

Something along the lines of "Scouts of America" or "Youth Scouts of America" would be good.

I think that we should rename the Boyscouts of America to just Scouts of America, or something similar. Then, the girls would be able to join, and there would be no confusion over why there are girls in boyscouts.

For example, in the Soviet Union, there were the Pioneers, similar to American boy scouts but with both male and female members.

I agree. In order for companies to get their products purchased, the population must have enough wealth to purchase it. And I never said that wasn't the case.

"A minimum wage of 0.00 is worse than having more than that. You are basically stripping out the advantages of the minimum wage for a 0.00 enforced minimum wage. A better position would be you want to abolish the minimum wage not have it at 0.00. There is a difference. One is a law enforcing the minimum wage and another isn't."
What's the difference between earning $0.00 and earning no money at all? There isn't a single job in the world where you earn less than 0.00

"i stated, if you increase everyone's wages, then inflation will be an equal opportunity offender, and the poorest will be back to where they started. if you only increase the wage of the bottom, inflation still occurs, but it isn't happening in totality, such that the bottom still has a higher proportion than they started with."
What happens after a company is forced to raise their salaries? They raise their prices. And after they raise their prices, other people who do not work for them will start wanting higher salaries, since all the products now cost more. In order not to lose employees, companies will up their salaries, and then we will end up with higher salaries and higher prices. Increasing the wage of the bottom results in an increase of the wage at the top, since you are not actually giving people more wealth, you are just giving them more currency which is now worth less.

Someone who says those things knows very little about the economy. Higher taxes and minimum wages may give "the masses" more money in the beginning, but eventually, there will be no more money left to give to them. If your taxes are too high, businesses will close down or leave to other countries, which results in higher unemployment, which will make "the masses" even worse off. Same thing with deciding how much companies should pay their employees: in the long run, this will result in an economic disaster.

"If you want to know that which results in inflation inherently, it's monetary policy particularly the printing of money without a (precious metal) standard."
Inflation is not a result of printing money without a standard per se, it's just the increase of whatever society uses as currency. When that increase in the amount of currency happens, the amount of goods for sale does not increase, and so the price increases instead. In Renaissance Spain, for example, the price of gold dropped significantly after more gold was brought from the Americas, and so gold-based prices increased. But Renaissance Spain did not use paper money not backed up by precious metals, it used actual precious metals as currency. Blaming paper money for inflation is incorrect and irrational.

@Athias
Artificially raising people's salaries only results in two things:

Companies increasing their prices, which will cause inflation (i.e. decrease the value of currency). So the people who the minimum wage was trying to help will now have a higher salary, but all the products they consume will cost more as well. Anyone who proposes a minimum wage lacks even a basic understanding of economics and inflation.
OR
Companies losing money, which will cause them to fire employees and which will improve unemployment. This would be terrible for the economy, since less job positions = worse economy.

So, a minimum wage will either not do anything or make people lose their jobs. Anybody who tries to promote a minimum wage lacks even a basic understanding of economics.

If you force employers to raise their salaries, they will raise their prices to keep even, and that will result in inflation.

Again, stop insulting me and saying that I am too dumb to handle "the truth". Are you seriously denying what you said about me and politicians in your previous posts? How intellectually dishonest do you have to be to do that?

Please come back with a rational discussion instead of insults. My point was simply that calling politicians names is a sign of immaturity, do you not agree with that? If yes, how? Please stop telling me to "see the truth" and actually counter what I said. I never even discussed any of your other arguments, I just talked about your name-calling.

A minimum wedge will only result in companies raising their prices. Which will result in other companies raising their salaries, and so on and so on. Eventually, the prices will become high enough that workers on the minimum wage would earn the same as they did before the minimum wedge.

Now you're just insulting me instead of engaging in a productive conversation about politics. You're saying I'm a Trump supporter - which I'm not but if I was, that would still not be a reason to insult me. You're saying I need to go and see a doctor - which is an insult. You're saying I have no arguments - which is another ad hominem. This is precisely what I described in my previous comment: you are too immature to have a rational discussion. See how you started saying I'm stupid and that I need to check my vision instead of calmy countering my arguments? Your comment didn't refute anything, it just proved my point. But, I guess it's easier to call people names and tell them to see a doctor instead of realizing all the nuances that exist in politics. And, I guess it's easier to post long rants of forums instead of engaging in a serious and productive debate.

Yang is probably my favorite, although I think he should talk more about other issues and not just his plan for UBI. Just giving every citizen money will not solve all of America's problems. Also, Yang cares about the political divide in our country, which I like, and he seems to value progress more than Reps vs. Dems bickering.

The real reason why gay men are promiscuous
-->
@dylancatlow
The intention of this post isn't to promote homophobia, but rather to offer an alternative explanation to the one typically used to explain gay promiscuity, namely one appealing to the "moral degeneracy" of gay culture and gays themselves.
Is promiscuity necessarily morally degenerate? As long as your sex is consensual, with someone above the age of consent, and you are both not cheating on your partner, then that sex is perfectly moral.

When your argument consists of so many insults, you've already lost.

It's a waste of time listening to people who use words like "Killary", "tRump", "Moscow Mitch", "Kim Ung Pooh", etc. When you use these insults, that means you have no other argument and are unable to have a productive and respectful conversation.

The worst aspect of accepting an atheist mentality. Mostly that it's so limiting for the individual, it also forces them to not accept anything outside materialism.
What is an "atheist mentality"? Atheism is the lack of belief in God because of absence of evidence. How does it have a "mentality"?

@Athias
Okay, I think you've got me. My earlier arguments were logically inconsistent. I think I'm going to have to change my phrasing a bit. Something can either exist in reality or exist in our imagination. The concept of God, for example, exists in our imagination. God, if he were to exist, would have to exist in reality. Something cannot exist both in reality and in imagination at the same time. So while the concept of God exists in our imagination, the concept of God does not exist in the real world. And while God may or may not exist in reality, he does not exist inside our imagination, only the concept of him does.

I'm sure we would both agree that God does not follow the rules of our reality, for example he can create something out of nothing and has omniscience and omnipotence. Therefore, God cannot exist in our reality, because if God were to exist he would break the rules of that reality. So, that means God does not exist, since something that cannot exist automatically does not exist. Therefore, only the concept of God exists, and that concept exists only in our imagination. Does this sound logical to you, or no?

Concerning your argument about numbers. Numbers are adjectives, not nouns. Something that is not a noun can exist neither in reality nor in imagination. The concept of numbers exists in imagination, because a concept is a noun; but numbers themselves do not exist anywhere. Same with colors, which are also adjectives. Does blue exist? No it doesn't, blue is an adjective. A blue object can exist, as well as the concept of blue, but not the color blue itself.

"The content of one's mind does not exist, making everything one thinks nonexistent."

Yes. Bingo. You got it. The content of someone's mind does not exist in the real world. Just because you can perceive God does not mean that God is real. You finally understand my argument, you did it Athias!

Yes, concepts do not exist in the real world. They only exist inside our minds. Existing in reality and existing inside our mind are two different things. Plus, a concept is different from the actual thing. Just because the concept of God exists inside my mind does not mean that God exists in the real world. You're acting like you've disproved all my arguments wrong but you're just asking me silly questions.

If something exists, it has an objective reality of being. Numbers do not have an objective reality of being. Sauron does not have an objective reality of being. Scientific laws do not have an objective reality of being. These are all concepts created by human beings. The concept of numbers exists inside our minds, the concept of Sauron exists inside our minds, and the concept of scientific laws exists inside our mind. There is no actual Sauron living inside the mind of a LOTR fan, it's just the concept of him. Same thing with God: the concept of God exists. But that does not mean God actually exists in the real world.

I'm asking each person why they believe in the God that they believe in. Which God they believe in does not matter. Personally I don't think that any God matters logically and rationally, since none of them actually exist, but many people think otherwise. And I'm curious why they do that.

I'll entertain this: let's suppose that "exists in one's mind" is the same as "pretend-make-believe," are numbers then "pretend-make-believe"?
Yes, how hard is this to understand? Numbers are pretend-make-believe! The concept of numbers has been created by humans and they do not exist in our world. Why are you still using this bullshit argument?

An axiom must always be true and can be applied to anyone. I am considered anyone, so your axiom can certainly be used to determine my beliefs.
Let's test your axiom on me:

p: I can believe God exists.
q: Therefore, I do believe God exists.

Hmmm... I don't believe that God exists. So something must be off here. Maybe something is wrong with the original premise? No, I certainly have the ability to believe that God exists. But the axiom still doesn't make sense. That means the conclusion must be wrong! And if the premise is correct but the conclusion is wrong, then your "axiom" is a non sequitur. The conclusion does not logically follow from the premise. Get rekt.

@Athias
Even you, so-called atheists, give form to that which you claim does not exist. How does one give a name and description to that which does not exist? How does one interact with that which does not exist?
Nonsense. Your claim that atheists must believe in God because they argue against his existence is a complete non-sequitur. Just because we gave a name and description to something does not mean that that something exists. Humans gave a name and description to Sauron from Lord of The Rings, but I'm sure we both are pretty certain that Sauron does not exist. According to your logic, everything ever named and described most exist because "How does one give a name and description to that which does not exist?"

 I would then ask why the very material standards on which you premise your arguments against "God" also incorporate the "nonexistent," i.e. numbers? Prove to me that the number two "exists"--i.e. has material composition--and I'll stop believing that God exists.
Why do you want me to prove something that is wrong? Numbers do not exist. They are immaterial. Numbers are a human concept created by humans and than concept exists solely inside our brains. There can be a number of something material, for example five soccer balls, but the number five itself does not exist. In fact, if there was proof that numbers actually existed, that would be evidence for the existence of God and not against his existence.
