The treatment of prisoners is generally fine. I would reduce prison time by incorporating judicial corporal punishment as an option for prisoners. I do think they need better protection during and at trial. For example they shouldn't be allowed to plea bargain. Many innocent people have the very real option of waiting 3 months in jail to beat a charge or being out to support their family the same day with a plea bargain. It's just wrong that a person who was not proven guilty in the court of law has a record when they faced a decision between having a record and being free vs having no record but being in jail for 90 days and unable to support their family.
I would also destroy the Alford plee which is just a way to get around the rule of not charging innocent people as evidenced from the court case that made the Alford plea possible.
I support ban the box initiatives. It's honestly retarded that restaurants are doing background checks on dishwashers at all. Like no Karen I do not give a fuck if the guy who washes my plates committed armed robbery in 1965.

We also need to stop this bullshit where we blame police for social problems and look to crack down on police. You don't end disparity in crime by telling police and judges to ignore crime and just cut people a break. You do it by creating opportunities in places where there is a lack . You do it by treating the boredom of people in that area and increasing programs for the youth, not by saying "cops bad, derp"
I would also do forced integration to a certain extent but frame it as a poverty program. Every God damn apartment or housing complex in the country will be required to have one unit and that unit must look like all the rest that is specifically for one low income resident and their rent must be cominsurate with their earnings for that place. There is usually an empty unit at all times in those places so this doesn't hurt the bottom line.
These things will reduce not just crime but the chances of reoffense

Insult means a word directed towards a person meant to offend. So know attacking somebody would not be an insult it would be a physical attack and those are banned here but don't fall under the definition

I don't want carte Blanche to act how you want that's why I wrote the COC to ensure mutual respect for each other, and radicalization is caused by being pushed into echo chambers. You get into areas gradually where purity spirals occur and this radicalization process happens.
Terry Nichols didn't engage with anyone who could attack his premises. The Columbine kids had a philosophy they had perfected before their mass shooting. They didn't have anyone to push back on their nihilistic takes and they were nihilists, which is why the basement tapes weren't released. It was believed the basement tapes would cause more shootings because they were apparently pretty persuasive, but if they would have been allowed on Dart to express their disdain for humanity and none of these nihilistic takes can be challenged by your average person so you need to interact with debaters who are skilled in a variety of subjects.
Pedophiles is another example. There are a lot that seek help to avoid offending or to stop offending. These are referred to as non offending pedophiles. However there is a large group who just aren't welcome on your average forum where you could find people to debate with so they get pushed to corners of the internet where nobody is challenging their premises where they argue that pedophilia is healthy.
There is a very real threat of being pushed into ideological spirals by continually being pushed out of places that are capable of deradicalizing you to get pushed into new places where you gain points by being a purist.
Yes there is a negative consequences of banning parody accounts for example but there are many other reasons why free speech is important and I do have lines I draw just not in what ideal can be expressed or in the words used to express those ideals.
I think you were on DDO and saw the wide variety of opinions and the superior quality of debaters, so you know this is also true that it's good for the health of the site the weekly stupid for example was something that increased site engagement and was fun and this is coming from a guy who hated imabench.
I know it's tempting to only think of the first order effects of banning words like nigger or banning racism in general in a site that literally requires unpopular opinions to be functional, but I urge you to think of the second order effects and give some push back on these dangerous ideals that are creating a sinking ship

I will call out anti white racism, the variety that is just words but it's usually only to point out hypocrisy. Micro principles would be things like social views political views concerning social issues for example the culture war, also small policy decisions would count as well the macro positions would be on freedom or justice with freedom being slightly more important than justice. Survival and health would be micro principles as would economics

RM the decay actually stopped when whiteflame took over. The best thing David could do is take a hands off approach and let the community and whiteflame handle things. He has good intentions I am sure when he was head mod but he almost completely destroyed the site and it's why it is as low quality and as low activity as it is now. The mod team has banned leshwanda for racism which is not a bannable offense nor is it even accurate to claim they are racist for acting black. If you are not allowed to act black on this site it's actually pretty racist of the site.
This ban is inappropriate and it's absurd. On top of the account not breaking any rules in the new COC. It's the one account that if it remained active could increase retention rate on the site.
This was done with no community discussion and against the wishes of the community and I am requesting the unjust ban be overturned.
