@ILikePie5
It is harder to identify scumtells from people than it is to POE people.
No it isn't because scumtells aren't a thing. You just think you're reading scumtells because you've internalised the whole process. You're reading the absence of towntells. Earth feels off. You literally said it.
You were off the Supa lynch the minute he OMGUSed.
I'd have got back on him. It was a weak towntell. It was just something I had to measure against other towntells.

@ILikePie5
You just wrote above that "Earth was off". I had very strong townreads on a number of players.
Last two games I've been pushing hard on mafia. I talk game and got game lol. Scumtells are barely even a thing.

@ILikePie5
Your welcome lol
I mean I was trying to lynch Supa lol.

@Vader
It's usually a huge towntell tbh. But you do have to be careful with it.

@Discipulus_Didicit
I didn't know role blocker could prevent kills. I figured that's what it was, but odd mechanic.

I don't really understand what happened but gg lol.
Nice lynch on Earth, Pie. Annoyed I misread that.

Me gunning is entirely suboptimal, but I'm gonna gun greyparrot.

I'm positive it's optimal to no gun but I'll gun lol. Watcher on me then.

@ILikePie5
I don't think it's 1/6 btw. That 2x redirector means there's 2 in the pool. I can only make one gun as gunsmith and I think it says 2x gunsmith in OP. 2 gunsmiths in the pool, not a two role use gunsmith.

@Vader
Your maths is wrong. Mafia has a 22% chance of having a redirector.
But I wasn't talking about redirector odds. The bigger danger is fucking with town ML's. The redirector chance on top of it just makes it that much worse.

I'm gonna vtl earth and go watch a movie or something.

@ILikePie5
Rewards are that you’re confirmed. Even if a townie gets the gun and shoots a townie, it still helps POE
No it doesn't. It seriously hurts town. Seriously seriously.
Or if I do gun, we have to NL the DP afterwards. But then there's the redirector to think about.
Created:

You are seriously underestimating the mathematics here, Pie.
Created:

@ILikePie5
What if there's a redirector? Then mafia gets the gun, keeps quiet, I get lynched and we lose.
Even that possibility aside, the ML trumps me as a clear.
Created:

I really think I should not use it at all lol. At least not this NP. The only utility I see in my role is taking a lynch out of town's hands D3.
Created:

@ILikePie5
You understand that I shouldn't gun, right?
Created:
Posted in:
I think we should lynch WF, but I'm fine with Earth now. I still think he's town tbh, but whatever.
Created:

@ILikePie5
I should never use my ability, btw. A misfire next DP puts town in MYLO. Me gunning someone is only depriving town of our ML. Add to that the possibility of a redirector and the role really is completely useless in this setup.

I would like to point out here that if I was mafia I would have played for NL. Anyone that can do very basic mathematics knows NL hurts town a lot more than a lynch here. I'm very actively trying to lynch someone.

@ILikePie5
No point arguing this. Do you townread Supa?

@ILikePie5
@Discipulus_Didicit
Works for me.
@ DD, Pie
Fancy a Supa lynch?

@Greyparrot
@oromagi
Can you two maybe list candidates for lynch please? We'll just get this DP over with already.
NL is seriously bad for town here.
Created:
Posted in:
Just so you all know, NL'ing here reduces town winchance significantly. Even lynching a townie is better.
Let's just lynch someone (preferably Supa).

@whiteflame
Little bit curious you failed to mention Supa there.
Anyway, an easy read here is that WF and DD are not on a scum team together, because these replies to DD are straight up scornful lol.

8. Badger - Null - I still don’t like the excuse he gave for his inactivity, but he has been active and engaging so far
Also I'm never going to scumtell by being inactive. Nor is Wylted, probably not Mikal either. It's a mafia game. I'd sooner believe Wylted was actually arrested for assaulting some dude that tried to tow is car than that he was afraid to post in the forums because of a mafia game.
I'm not saying it's not a scumtell. For whatever reason, something looking like the freeze-fight-flight instinct does find itself in mafia games. But I think the read should be more judiciously applied.
Created:

but I have also always found it a scumtell that mafia attribute randomness to their lynching. That way it's less of a loss. A townie on the other hand would cry foul about town idiocy or scummy behaviour. Still, there's a couple ways to read it.
This is not too difficult to understand, and really is a good way to read the game. Most of this game is loss mitigation rather than actually playing for a win. You'll see people lynched for being "anti-town". You'll see it written that this person is either scum or stupid. People don't play to win, they play to lose less. It makes sense, we're all feeling around in the dark. If you can lynch someone and put the loss on them if you're wrong, you're only ever winning. But those two examples are the townie side of it. What WF's doing is the mafia side. Putting it all down to randomness or fluke is mafia's loss mitigation. But then he has framed it in this idea of themeless games suck, which is honestly not unbelievable but a bit sad.

I would actually really really like to lynch Supa here.
Created:

I'd actually rather lynch Supa here, but I don't like WF's last post either. He's basically refusing to play the game. He made plenty of good reads last game before any character claim was made. I don't know what this new philosophy is about, maybe he's not liking this themeless game, but I have also always found it a scumtell that mafia attribute randomness to their lynching. That way it's less of a loss. A townie on the other hand would cry foul about town idiocy or scummy behaviour. Still, there's a couple ways to read it.

@ILikePie5
My reading of those two posts by Earth makes way more sense. If Earth knows I'm town, why is he so ready to get the lynch off me? Town has 2 ML's. That's way too ballsy play.
Created:

Scumtells aren't really a thing. There are a few. But towntells are huge. It's the things townies don't say that make them town. Townies have a real point of view influencing their posts. It's a rare mafia that fabricates that.
Created:
Posted in:
Or Greyparrot, watching me, thinking I'm mafia. Next thing I sheep Pie's vote and he pings Pie that I'm scum.
Does that seem mafia to you or an overly suspicious townie?
Created:

@oromagi
Pick someone active and try to flesh out their point of view. Like Earth for example. Wants to pressure for claims, then writes to me, "Given you have two votes on you, please claim". Doesn't want it in the danger zone, only wants to see some claims. Does that seem mafia to you? Does it seem fabricated? Or does it seem town?

@oromagi
Tell me your reads or thoughts or anything. Anything helps.

So far I gotta say I'm town-reading everyone bar Supa and whiteflame. I mean oro's not certain either, but I'm liking him as town, just a feeling.

I don't see it. Either way, I'm town-reading grey and earth and maybe Pie.
