One of the most basic rules of politics is that you do not say anything that will cause a needles firestorm.That's really simple and it's nothing new. That's why for example candidates always say they're campaign is doing just fine and they're not going anywhere... And then "suspend" their campaigns the next day.Funny thing is, everyone understands this. No one turns around and calls them liars because they wouldn't publicly admit what they knew they were going to do. This is politics 101.So even assuming the worst, what Joe Biden did by saying he wasn't going to pardon Hunter isn't remarkable at all. Admitting it would have caused a firestorm so Biden followed the same rule everyone follows.
So… I am back to reiterating this:

I’m sure many voted for Harris because she at least claimed that abortion rights were central to her platform. Meanwhile, abortion has not been central to Trump’s platform, but he has stated clearly that he is against a federal abortion ban. But if one is a single issue voter on that, the choice would be pretty clear. Voters do not always vote according to the candidate’s main platform, nor should they. Voters vote according to what is most important to THEM, not according to what someone else thinks is most important.

That was before Trump won the election and then nominated a man who *publicly* said he would use the Justice department to go after Trump’s political enemies to lead the FBI. So much for all that “Trump’s not really going to weaponize the DOJ” BS. If I were Joe I’m certainly not about to hand my son who’s already been put through the ringer to this DOJ.
Biden didn’t say, “It depends.” He said, “No pardon for Hunter.”
Second, no one who supports Trump has any ground to stand on when it comes to lying.
The above is what I call a “cuts both ways” claim:
“No one who supports [Biden] has any ground to stand on when it comes to lying.”
The irony here is that many, including myself, believe Trump would have said, “Sure, I’ll pardon my son if it comes down to it. What father wouldn’t?”

Yes, that was exactly my point, but it went further than that. Not only did they hold her responsible, but they pretended these issues were central to her campaign and therefore representative of what her priorities would have been as president. That's where it gets ridiculous.
As ridiculous as you may find it, this is neither unusual nor unique to Harris’ candidacy. Voters regularly feel strongly about issues that aren’t central to a candidate’s campaign and vote accordingly.

Harris was pro ceasefire pretty soon after Israel retaliated. A ceasefire would benefit Israel’s enemies but not Israel. But no way would she go so far as to honor the goals of the BDS movement. Biden/Harris have tried to keep a foot in both sides of that war (i.e. speaking out of both sides of their mouths). That just succeeds in pissing everyone off. That means she… sort of supports, doesn’t decidedly oppose a stance which you believe to be stupid.
Biden/Harris altered Title 9 to address people by gender identity instead of biological sex. That means she supports a stance which you believe to be stupid.
Harris assisted in bailing out people arrested during the BLM protests/riots, made an advertisement endorsing racial equity (as opposed to equality), basically accused Biden in 2020 of being racist in a certain legislative decision, and announced that fraudster Smollette was a victim of a “modern day lynching.” That means she supports a stance which you believe to be stupid.

Elections are a popularity contest for the candidates, not an economics and civics exam for the voters. Much or maybe even most of the electorate are ignorant and always have been. That’s one of the problems with democracy. At least this fact both afflicts and benefits both parties.
