Why can't we have unisex bathrooms in high school?

Do separate bathrooms teach kids that we see boys and girls as not equal?

Are separate bathrooms not a form of segregation? Is segregation ever right?

If you had a 10 year old son, and he asked you why did boys and girls have different bathrooms, what would you say?

What societal I'll is separate bathrooms in high school supposed to stop or inhibit? Is there evidential justification for it?

What if every American was given a one million dollar account? Not cash, but on paper. They could use this account as they would cash. Transactions were recorded digitally.

What exactly would be the economic reasons this would not work? The only thing I can think of is paying for imports with other currencies than dollars.

Would this not be a solution to poverty?

This will one day be an old thread.

Make your predictions here. Not common things everyone expects, (flying cars, implanted chips, foldable TV screens, etc) but stuff that really shows your predictive skills and precognition.

1. Smart phones controlled 100% by thought.  - 20 years

2. Terraforming Mars. - 100 years

3. Ability to record and store human memory directly from the    human brain.  - 200 years

Sorry to have to say it, but I did tell you so.

Dart has many more members now, but less activity. Why?

1. Ubiquity
One member is every where. Post a debate and he is likely to take you up. Post a thread and he is likely to respond. Members here want to interact with people, not just one loony guy. Though he has not done anything specifically wrong, his ubiquity discourages activity on the board. And that is now showing.

2. Obsession.
One member with a "God does not exist" obsession derails every thread in the religion board. His reply to any topic is, "God does not exist". What if people want to discuss God? Is not the religion board for that purpose? This attitude is repeated on other boards with people obsessed with other subjects, like Trump haters on politics board, evolution deniers on the science board, etc. Obsessions discourage activity on the board. And that is now showing.

3. Militancy
Members whose first post to an innocuous comments are filled with bile and vitriol. Members are at a loss on how to respond to a first post with anger and insult that is frankly inexplicable. There are people on the politics board for example, who seem to think they own the board, and will lash out in ad-hom at anything that personally offends them. Militancy discourage activity on the board. And that is now showing.

4. Naysayers
Any path suggested. Any path whatsoever, is immediately opposed by the naysayers. Mods or owners who will not lead will leave the board in paralysis as the naysayers play tug-of-war. And when the mod or owner makes a decision, he will be accused of being an authoritarian. This will happen.

At some point, (possibly already past) hard decisions will have to be made. An old established board could possibly absorb such infectious personalities. But a new board cannot. It must be protected till it is strong enough to accommodate these things.

We have the history of countless boards before us. Let's not make the same mistakes again.

2. Or can a person be repulsed (by the act, not the person) and not be a bigot at all?

3. Is repulsion at the homosexual act a learned response or is it biological?

4. If a man is repulsed at the sexual act between two men, but feels attracted at the sexual act between two women, is that bigotry?

We won't make America great again. America was never that great.
-NY Governor

America is great. But why is it great?

America differs from other countries in that it is always moving towards the just, the true, the right.

Other countries had to be forced or pressured into doing the right thing. America has always been able to do so on it's own. No matter what wrong we have done, we, and we alone, have recognized it, attacked it, and corrected it.

It's like America has a built in immune system. Women's rights, racism, bigotry, corruption, equality, child welfare, world policing, have all been corrected by us. Sometimes with great turmoil, but we found the way to a more just society. We are great because we have a great system, baked into our country's DNA.

America's greatness is why the poor, the oppressed, the downtrodden, flock to us. This is why Hawaii, and Korea, Panama, Germany, Laos, and Japan are free and prosperous. A lesser country would have just swallowed them up after defeat.

America's greatness is why the world doesn't speak German today but English, and why there is a state of Israel, why Isis and the Taliban have not murdered everyone in the Middle East, and why a poor farmer in Honduras has a smart phone.

Show me another country with a self-healing immune system.

The governor of NY is a blazing idiot. Some have called for his removal, but I say no, let him stay. He is who New Yorkers deserve.

What sense do they make?

Why don't they shoot out the tires?

What would they do if they caught the car they are chasing? Both parties have guns.

Remember when everyone wore hats?

Or women all wore skirts?

Was it by choice or by fad?

Is the the same thing happening with the i-phone today?

Do you own an i-phone? Let me guess, you got it by choice right? It had nothing to do with a fad.

Since every culture has come up with  God story, would it be correct to say that psychologically, humans need a God narrative?

I say yes, as even atheist seem to need it just as much as theists even if for different reasons.

Why do you think humans seem to need a God story?
