The Reality Of Religion
-->
@Salixes
You wouldn't question their Christianity because of a lack of understanding of real Christianity.

It is certain systems (mainly Catholics) that shield paedophiles
 Catholicism demands celibacy, most others do not, it's not a biblical directive.
People are obsessed with sex and perversion whether they call themselves Christian or not.

The fact is in all walks of life there are posers who may resemble somewhat, the group they claim to be a member of
but their actions are inconsistent with what they claim to be. As i have stated i do not defend Catholicism as it is Christian in name only.

Penetrating The Real Reason For Bigotry
-->
@Stephen
I've seen cases where homosexuality can be a choice, such as when a child, who really wouldn't think much or understand sexuality, states that lesbians are awesome (this was my granddaughter's young friend who said this) which, it turned out, was something she heard her mother say.

 And because Hollywood is dominated by homosexuals they push their sexuality through most shows, including so-called children's programs so that being queer is somewhat fashionable.

How Are Your Morals And Ethics
-->
@Salixes
Never been to any church that tells people when to use their genitals, or incited hatred toward anyone, or dictated whether or not a person in a vegetative state should be a burden on anyone and certainly not want to lengthen any ones suffering.  Churches have their doctrines but if they follow Gods example they would not/could not enforce many things such as one's sex life. God believes in choice, for instance, he can't make anyone love him because enforced love would not be genuine.

So you must have studied many cases of Christians reacting this way to conclude what religious followers have a tendency to do. Also, was the 911

The Catholic church doctrine is mostly Ant-Christian as i have said before so i do not defend them and although not all cases of paedophilia happen within Catholicism the vast majority do as indicated here

But that doesn't mean that God sanctions this kind of behaviour, no more than if i committed some atrocity
and blamed it on Salixes.

So do you think all priests are pedo or only priests are pedo. When i see old, usually men, marrying or dating much younger,(but legal age ) that strikes me as a form of paedophilia. The only difference is that it involves adult (some barely) and, presumably consenting women.

And likely many other Christians have managed to solve the problem too, so by your standards Christianity was a factor in them surviving in a panic situation.

A small percentage of Christians have been identified as paedophiles and it would certainly call into question their Christianity if they were active.

The Bible treats death as the enemy,Virtually all others see death as a good thing.

Salvation is a gift which people cannot earn, others say one has to earn it.

All other leaders of religions are dead in their graves, Christ is risen.

@Stephen
God the father and God the holy spirit.

 The universe is a trinity of trinities, it is comprised of "time, space and matter" each of which is a trinity itself 'past, present and future,height,width and depth,liquid,solid and gas, which are three different aspects of, but inseparable to the same thing, so it would be no surprise that God would be triune as well

People sometimes panic in these situations and may not think of the obvious solutions, but this has nothing to do with Christianity. We all have a time to die, this may have been that families time. The reason for their death at this time may not be self-evident but virtually all deaths tend to have a major impact on at least some of the survivors.

Let's Be Reasonable
-->
@Salixes
Nobody can say with absolute certainty how the universe came into being and I know of no atheist hellbent on going around trying to tell everyone else that such is the case. Yet we surely have enough preachers hellbent on promoting the idea of the "God theory" as if it were a given.

Dawkins and Hitchens are/were a couple who fervently believed and preached this so-called fact.

However we do have compelling evidence that there was a big bang and scientists are still researching the subject. We also have overwhelming, irrefutable evidence that life is the result of evolution by natural selection.

Nobody can say with absolute certainty how things originated but then you make absolute statements about origins.

I think that your "did not witness" argument was poo pooed ages ago by sheer commonsense and logic.
Forensic detectives do not witness the murders they investigate yet are able to collect enough compelling evidence to convict a murderer..
Even without fossil and carbon dating evidence (of which there are mountains) we are still able to conclude evolution through natural selection by an overwhelming abundance of existing, live evidence.

Forensics on its own cannot determine an individuals guilt it has to be combined with other types of evidence, for instance all a murderer has to do to confuse forensics is spread all kinds of hair and other contaminents throughout the murder scene.Forensics can never assign guilt to a specific individual.
 What scientists consider to be direct observation to pre-historical events defies common sense and logic.

So, anybody is entitled to reasonably assert that there is no such thing as God. Creation (the lynchpin of the existence of God) has been completely overturned and there is no evidence whatsoever of a God, Gods or any other supernatural phenomena.

Science has made many questionable interpretations of the evidence for deep time and many have dared to question these interpretations of the evidence while still remaining staunch evolutionists.

Nobody is entitled to reasonably assert that there is a God and anybody who does say that there is a God is being totally unreasonable.

Nobody can reasonably assert that there is no God and anyone who does say there is no God is being totally unreasonable.
People are entitled to assert whatever they want to actually.

There is nothing in the story that gives the slightest indication whatsoever that the father had believed his son to be literally "dead" or had died in some far off place. You are clutching at straws.

It is still common for a parent to fear the worst when it comes to a missing child and whether it is indicated or not doesn't mean that was not the case
.It's
 speculation but based on personal experience.

is   he

/she has "gone off the rails '.

The fact is, is that not one of these stories about supposed "dead" people is actually about anyone
being  literally

dead .
As the biblical evidence above shows.

And
i
never said anyone was literally dead.

Indeed and when they come to their senses - as did the wayward son in Luke 15:17 and they stop behaving "stupid"
we  sometimes
refer to them as having "seen the light"   don't we?  But it doesn't mean that these "stupid" people had never seen daylight,
does

it.

Don't see your point

The father feared his son may be dead because of not seeing him for so long but rejoiced when he found out he was still alive. We use that term today when referring to someone who has done us wrong (so and is dead to me for what he did)) or we might call someone a deadhead when they do something stupid,but neither are literally dead.

Christian Conversion Therapy

@ludofl3x
First off i don't attend defend or support catholicism as many of their doctrines are anti-Christian/ anti-biblical.Most people don't see a difference but there are glaring differences. Also, I don't believe anyone should go to church involuntarily.
 I only know one paedophile who according to his psychologist has never acted on his urges and he is indistinguishable from any other person, he was a very good neighbour, just like the two gay neighbours next door to my daughters' cottage, but the fact is that paedophiles are now pushing for the same rights as homosexuals and are supported by the psychiatric profession so it is just a matter of time before they get it.
 Are there any others you would consider to be less than Just people.

@ludofl3x

And they've waived
patient client
confidentiality such that we're able to quantify the number of people in therapy trying to not be gay just because they hate being gay?

They don't  have to quote numbers

I've been to several to support family members and have never seen lewd displays.

That's good

Exposing children at an early age to diverse backgrounds of people is a way to help them see that people are just
people,
before dogma like yours senselessly infect them.

Nobody denies that they are people

Gay people aren't recruiting children to be gay. They're recruiting people to understand they're equal. That website is a bit of a slanted take.

Then i would assume that you would support having paedophiles addressing young children to show that they are just people. The psychiatric community would support this since they have proposed taking paedophilia of the list of mental disorders.

The Complexity Argument
-->
@Salixes
Many creationists often use the complexity argument in their assertion that life was designed by a creator. . . . . . "the human body is far too complex to have just happened by accident".
Also: "Complexity is the result of design".

Then, out come the usual, well-worn analogies of a watch dropped in the sand and a Boeing 747 miraculously coming together during a gust of wind over a junk-yard.

The fundamental flaw of creationists' arguments is the erroneous assumption that complexity is the result of design.

Quite the opposite is true.

The top watchmakers in Switzerland create superb precision timepieces but not out of complexity. Each component and mechanism
fulfills
its intended purpose, No more, No less. The watch operates with the bare minimum of parts in order for it to reliably keep time. . . . . It is as simple as possible to perform its function and therefore not complex.

So the first person to make something with no purpose in mind out of various parts that also had no purpose and just happened to result in a watch, or, maybe the parts were created by accident by time and chance.

Compare this with life forms that are highly complex.

The body of a mammal (the human is a mammal) is a mass of convoluted valves and conduits, fluids, and extraneous organs. There is no way that a designer would ever set out to create a living entity by haphazardly whacking together bunches of organic components on the fly.

The body is hardly a convoluted mass as every part has a purpose.

The point creationists seem to conveniently overlook is that complexity is the result of "accumulation over time".

For example, We can marvel at the vast and wondrous beauty of an underground cave full of giant stalagmites and stalactites. They weren't created, they were formed by minerals accumulating and bonding over a very long period of time. . . hundreds of thousands of years.

The people own or manage these caves say they have to knock down the stalactites/stalagmites because they end up joining together and no longer resemble stalactites/Stalagmites. It doesn't take that long to form at all.

The same goes for life. Life developed over a very long period of time and here, we are talking of billions of years.

This, of course, is unproven and scientists admit this.

Is it not then, more valid to say that life is far too complex (and convoluted) to have been designed?

One has to believe that evolution is a creative process when we actually see the opposite happening, things aren't evolving in an upward direction
, the universe is dying  according to science

Christian Conversion Therapy
-->
@ludofl3x
They seek help SPECIFICALLY to stop being gay? Because a lot of people, gay or straight, seek help from secular psychologists for all sorts of trauma. Like, say if you were told that feelings over which you have no control, that you've had since you were very young,
were
a potential reason to lose your family and your social circle, that would be trauma one might need help with. Can you back up this 'majority of gays seek help to get rid of being gay' claim?

This disingenuous since you know what we are talking about, those who desire conversion therapy.

How many gay pride parades have you been to, precisely? Where? It sounds like you're imagining a Simpsons episode version. Plenty of towns have gay pride parades where no one is running around in leather harnesses. They're mostly just parades of people. Why are you so afraid of seeing skin?

I have never attended one although i inadvertently witnessed one in Toronto and have seen footage from others which were much the same.I am not afraid of seeing skin but it is more the lewdness of it especially with children around, plus the fact that it is uneccessary.

Drag queens addressing kindergartners has been a thing for a few years now, unless one has been out of touch. Should be able to google "drag queens address children" or some variation of that.

Link please

The majority actually seek help from secular psychologists.
 Also, if one looks at the gay pride parade, there is more skin exposed than probably most people care to see.
Since Hollywood has always been dominated by homosexuals or part-time homosexuals (bi-sexuals) it is no surprise
that pretty much all that comes from them contain at least subtle or not so subtle references to homosexuality and of course
many schools have drag queen coming in and indoctrinating the very young. At least one "gay" journalist admitted  a few years ago
that indoctrination was essential to the gay communities future survival.

True. The Bible is used to teach.

To teach that people of minority groups are to be hated.
Not true

To teach people what they can and cannot do with their genitals.
Again not true

To teach utter lies about the promise of an afterlife.
Can you disprove an afterlife?

To teach fear.
What is wrong with fear
,it
can be a great motivator

To teach immorality.
Not true

To teach anti-social
behavior
Actually just the opposite

.
To teach elitism.
It may mention many things such as elitism, but people take things out of context and make other grammatical errors
to intentionally or inadvertently interpret the Bible wrong. Mentioning that something exists does not necessarily promote it.

The fact is that many homosexuals have problems with their homosexuality and do seek help with it. One only has to observe a gay pride event to see that they have some kind of psychological problems such as their exhibitionism and their attempts to sexualize children.

One man's delusion is another man's reality. Flat earthers consider their stance to be real, whereas others see them as deluded.
