@Dr.Franklin
Top of the morning to you Doc.
And yep... A reasonable short summary of recent history.
Though I think Dubya would have probably used the word hurtified.
Borders are fictitious lines, on maps and in heads.
And I'm a citizen of Planet Earth, sub-categorized as European, then British, born in England and living in Wales..... And like most similarly placed people, I regard all those across the Irish pond, as Irish of Earthling extraction.
And "The Troubles".....Were silly men with guns and bombs, harping on about the past.....Certain parallels to be drawn with the Israeli, Palestinian troubles, for sure.
And all depending upon which bit of the past one wishes to dwell upon, of course.

One of those words that never quite looks right.
More suggestive of a missed poke, than speaking incorrectly.

3800 now Mr F.
You've snook on another 400.
Nonetheless land purchase is the misappropriation of a universal asset.
Will it be 4000 tomorrow?

Terror is terrifying.
I'm certain that there are men, women and children in Gaza who are as terrified as men, women and children in Israel. (All other assumed gender-types accepted)
And "Palestine is a terrorist sponsoring State".......Where is Palestine and who's terror does it sponsor?
Sponsors of terror are largely profit motivated arms manufactures and dealers.

Helping people who actually care to learn.
There's a distinction to be made between help and indoctrination.
And I think that the Bro Is beyond both.

3400 years ago isn't the first place.
And land purchase is an assumption that handing over a wad of dosh somehow means you can own the Earth, whereas a homeland is where the foetus is dropped.
The actual difference between the two sides is hypothetical ideology and the divergence thereof.
In terms of 3400 years ago the natives of the Arabian peninsula, were largely, one and the same.
And modern Israel survives thanks only to it's Big Bro across the Atlantic pond.
And all the lessons of the 1940's were largely forgotten in the 1950's.
The problem is neither Jewish nor Palestinian.....The problem is humanity, and it's ideologically contrived non-sense.
Or I should say, the ideologically contrived non-sense of a minority of zealots.

Cause and effect and reason
The cause is primary and unknown and the effects are experienced and the reasons can be variously categorised under GOD.
And the universe is vast, so unicorns are just as possible as a floaty about bloke.
And the flying spaghetti monster, illustrates a point.
And the habitual transfer of data is what it is.

If one consumes alcohol, then one is intoxicated.
And varying exhibitions of uninhibited behaviour may transpire, relative to consumption rates.
The intoxicated often retain the belief that they are behaving rationally.... Though staggering, speech impediments and eventual collapse are usually the big give away.
Vomit and headaches may follow.
Been there, done that.
More than once.
Lesson learned.
Though some people never learn.

Lil Nas X is LBGTQ+
Wouldn't you know.
Talk about cynical marketing.
And the target audience will lap it up.....For a while.
Until the next big thing hits their screens.

So a sort of retro vibe going on there.

I would like to find a Picasso in a junk shop.
I could sell it and retire.
Certainly wouldn't want it on my wall.
Wouldn't mind a Klimt though.
"Art" is one of those all encompassing words.
Some might say that there is an art to everything.
Is art the vision or the acquired skill?
Or perhaps the vision, plus the innate skill.
Or perhaps the power to inspire
Or is it as simple as slopping a bit of colour about on a wet afternoon.
Or..........

Yet, you cannot ignore others.

Christian, Jesus and Jew.
That would be an academic question.
A Christian is a Christian because they variously accept what they have been told.
I doubt that many Christians club members, have ever read the bible from cover to cover.....Most just have childhood recollections of the popular bits.
And GODS are/were created in various images......States the obvious really.

Just to give my two pennies worth, to this dumb ass thread.
Some might suggest that all murder is "wildly out of control."
And as Mr Faux implies...It's people that murder.
So statistics show....As they do.....And other statistics, show other things.
And suicide is a Japanese tradition.
And murder is a U.S. tradition.
That's culture for you.
And the Scots have bagpipes.
And the Falkland Islanders have tenuous isolation.
And guns are as guns do.

Live birth viability is based on technology.
I know I know.....It was a GOD what did it.
The technology I mean.
And the foetus is not just enclosed, but also attached and reliant.
You overlooked the attached and reliant bit.
I know I know.... A GOD and technology.
And as anyone ever stopped and asked the foetus what it thinks....Or if it cares.
And humans variously continue to do this, that and the other.
Such is the potential of gamete fusion.

Well.
Jesus is either the son of a GOD, or the personification of a GOD, or both.....Such is the confusion of the Christian Club version.
Nonetheless the spread of Arabian theism all stems from the same notion of GOD.
So depending on which club one subscribes to, (or not, in my case) GOD can be both the same and/or different. (Other specialist clubs are available)
The Christian one is often envisaged as a fair skinned guy with a flowing mane of blond hair.......I would imagine that the Muslim one is generally regarded as being swarthier with curly black hair......And the Jewish one perhaps wears a black hat.
And as for Catholics and all that Virgin Mary stuff!

Your brief summary suggests to me that Dr Schlain, sort of states the obvious....And perhaps for you, is just an enigmatic confirmation of some of your own ideas.
Cynically I would say that any book these days, is primarily motivated, by marketability and target audiences, rather than the altruistic spreading of wisdom.
And for sure, attributing gender to objects is commonplace, just look at the French language for example.
As a schoolboy, I never understood the French need for such distinctions....The masculine cat, tom or she, sits in the feminine chair.....Bizarre and unnecessarily complicting, for an already conditioned realist such as myself....The cat, and the chair, will suffice.
I know, I know...Conditioned English bias.

Everyone is conditioned, but also susceptible to influence.
Conditioning is how we acquire, process and store data, particularly in our formative years.
As we get older we are less susceptible to change....Though that isn't to say that we cannot make deliberate changes to lifestyle.
Nonetheless, learned values and habits tend not to alter.

To be perfectly honest, I don't think about "Race" other than the human race.
Though I inevitably and unavoidably consider perceivable difference in everything.....Internal Data processing.
And as an internal data output, I am pretty well conditioned, not to be discriminatory on the basis of perceivable human differences, even though I am inevitably and unavoidably aware.
The unavoidable awareness of perceivable difference, is not racist per se......Racism...is discriminating on the basis of perceivable human difference.....And I strive not to do this.
And as I see it, the O.P poses a question for consideration.

Debate website...Hence questions.
And be as rude as you like....I'm thick skinned.
Nonetheless, I do debateart because the exercise is mentally stimulating.
And not wishing to be too gender specific, I have always assumed that you are female...So do you not see the misogynism in old GODS.
And not wishing to be rude at all, but your take on things as described, is far too spiritual and ethereal for a conditioned realist such as myself.
Human birth, life and death and all it's machinations ..... Are (as I see it) thus far, a short phase of a process, that is material evolution.....And though I loosely subscribe to a GOD principle, I see it as no more or no less than that which perpetuates material evolution....Maybe successively and infinitely.
And If I did not care, I would not bother.

Yes....And It's not uncommon for Eagles to be kept and trained for hunting and falconry displays.....Another issue perhaps?

I agree, but perhaps not so vehemently.
Race and discrimination are internal data assessments, activated by sensory perception.
We see and we hear, and we inevitably judge.
Though social racism is determined by effect rather than it's cause.
And we can still decide to treat each other respectfully.
I'm not sure though, if inanimate possessions are racist per se....Though some might conclude that certain objects are symbolically representative of human racism.
Though I would suggest that "some" people take pleasure in continually grinding the racist axe.
Is a can of beans racist?.....Hmmmmmm......Probably the black eyed ones for some.

What about pre-David.
How far do we have to go back before we agree on who to blame or not.
And all land ownership, is expropriation or theft anyway.
And who has the power to recognise?....Well, obviously the ones with the power to recognise.
So a lot of people recognise Israel as a legitimate sovereign state, and a lot do not....And so the consequences are as they are and will be ongoing.
Because the U.S. and it's allies have and never will be able to settle the issue.
