Definitions:
Pizza: A dish made typically of flattened bread dough spread with a savory mixture usually including tomatoes and cheese and often other toppings and baked
Pineapple: A tropical monocotyledonous plant (Ananas comosus of the family Bromeliaceae, the pineapple family) that has rigid spiny-margined recurved leaves and a short stalk with a dense oblong head of small abortive flowers

Pineapple on pizza is absolutely disgusting and it's the 3rd most disliked pizza topping in the U.S alone. [1] Making it a waste of resources that not many people even eat. It also creates a lot of unhealthy controversy for pizza in general.

Hello and thanks for responding. Let's get right into it!

Pineapple on pizza is absolutely disgusting
Discounted. This statement is highly opinion based, with no factual evidence. We could just go back and fourth on this, but instead, let's move on.

Waste of resources
How so? I suppose enough Hawaiian pizzas are made each year for consumers to consume them, just like any other pizza; unless you have a study showing otherwise.

Unhealthy controversy for pizza in general
Check this list. Who's number one?

Argument

Hmm... I have some space left, so I would like to just throw this out.

  • Pineapple is a fruit
  • Tomato is a fruit
  • Tomato goes on pizza
  • Pineapple is okay for pizza
Thank you.

Did you even read what I wrote right after that?
unless you have a study showing otherwise.
As a matter of fact, I do. It's in the sources of my first argument.
Check this list. Who's number one?
Uhm, this list just proves the point I made about pineapple pizza being controversial...

Tomato goes on pizza
Tomato doesn't go on pizza it goes in pizza.

Thanks.

Hello and let's jump into this! Starting off with some clash...

Clash

Did you even read what I wrote right after that?
I did. Notice how "3rd most disliked pizza topping" is also an opinion in a way. Just people the majority of people don't like it, doesn't make it wrong. There are plenty of example of this, and since this does not prove pineapple on pizza is wrong, then this falls short of your BoP.

As a matter of fact, I do. It's in the sources of my first argument.
Not what I meant. I was clearly referring to a study showing how pineapple pizza wastes resources.

Pineapple pizza being controversial
The site claims to use the word "influential" in a good way. It even claims pineapple pizza as having "one of pizza’s most divisive flavors."

Tomato doesn't go on pizza it goes in pizza.
No it doesn't. If you're referring to pizza as the dough, then we put tomatoes on the dough. If you're referring to pizza as the entire thing, well, that doesn't change anything. So if we can put tomatoes on pizza, we can put pineapple on pizza. No need for technicality.

Thank you.

No, if the majority of people don't like something then it's not very useful to society, making it wrong.
Not what I meant. I was clearly referring to a study showing how pineapple pizza wastes resources.
Again, if the majority of people don't like it then it's a waste of resources.

adjective

  1. tending to cause disagreement or hostility between people.
Disagreement isn't a good thing.
No need for technicality.
I am referring to pizza topping (just as you were clearly referring to toppings). Tomato is not a pizza topping.
