Round 1

Con

PRO's job is to prove the resolution to be correct.
CON's job is to prove the resolution incorrect.

IF CON proves that a Gender Pay Gap still exists, CON wins.

Exist
The term is written in Present tense, so we don't need to prove that the gender pay gap exists thousands of years ago, but merely for now.

  • For the same positions on average women earn 0.99c for 1$ a man makes
  • For all positions that exist on average women earn 0.82c for 1$ a man makes
  • The first-order derivative of the gender pay gap, or the rate it is changing, is currently zero, as the figure was the same for the last two years so it should not be expected to change drastically very soon
  • The wage pay gap exists for various jobs, such as medical physicians and supervisers, For the most part, women earn less.
  • In many measures, on average for all positions for women, they earn cents less than men per dollar, including such as education level, age and race.
  • The wage pay gap is observed to be existent in many locations, such as Pittsburgh, Chicago, Atlanta, etc.
  • It is blatantly stated that "Although no country has yet achieved full gender parity", implying that a gender pay gap exists in all countries.
  • In North America, men and women are 76% equal in wages. In South Asia, they are doing worse than that, only 62% of the gap is closed.
I think this is enough to prove that the gender pay gap exists. I rest my case.
