Disclaimer : Regardless of the setup for voting win or lose, The aim of this interaction, Is for those that view it, Learn and or take away anything that will amount to any constructive value ultimately. So that counts as anything that'll cause one to reconsider an idea, Understand a subject better, Help build a greater wealth of knowledge getting closer to truth. When either of us has accomplished that with any individual here, That's who the victor of the debate becomes.
This is another one of those topics, if you think about it and or are sharp enough, you'll see is true.
Consider this hint about what denominations are, their derivatives.
That's all for now.
Pro doesn't contest that the commandment not to murder is found in the Bible and is also a precept of Christianity, as argued by Con. Based on how the title claim is worded, even a single positive example on Con's part is enough to disprove Pro's position. There is a difference between the Con position on "all of what Christianity is/has become IS NOT found in the Bible" and the Pro position on "all of what Christianity is/has become IS found in the Bible" The second position is much more strict.
In spite of forfeiting most of the debate, con came back with a case that Christian values from the bible remain in Christian dominant nations. Which pro tried to argue an absolute, when the absolute was actually against him with how the resolution was phrased. That modern Christianity is not exactly the same as it was back then is obvious, but the resolution implies none of modern Christianity stems from biblical teachings, and with good sources con was able to show it is indeed a biblical teaching not to murder people.
Please vote and consider empty rounds from Mall equal to a forfeited Round from Con if possible.
I would have actually liked to have taken this debate, as a Christian.
But, to be clear, Mall, was your identification of "Christian" a person who tries to the best of his ability to obey Scripture and follow God, or a person who DOES obey Scripture 100% correctly.
Because I would argue that, either way, the Bible itself states a person can fail to follow Scripture perfectly and still be a Christian.
So what is your definition of Christian?
