Description

My socialism is a system where every individual owns a piece of land and has animals, berries and trees on it which provide food for him.

First of all addressing the obvious problem with your idea, most people don't know how to farm and live in cites where there is not enough arable land to farm furthermore our society is based on white collar workers such as engineers, accounts, bureaucrats etc. Having everyone farm would lead to complete collapse of society and government and lead to anarchy.

The issue of food security can be solved by mechanisation and technological innovations, which let a small percentage of people farm for the entire population, so that others can focus on various other fields and not be constrained to agriculture.

It is great to work less and have healthy food easily available on your land, which is what this system allows.

This system requires everyone to be farmers, which most of the people don't want to be or are incapable of being, furthermore people would get a very tiny area of land.

Such a system would infact reduce food production, as large mechanised and efficient farms, would need to be divided into many parts, which would lead to very low yields, due to inefficient and primitive agricultural practices, since it would not be worthwhile to use heavy machinery, fertilizers etc, due to absence of the economy of scale.

You work 10 hours a day so that you can buy unhealthy junk food or food filled with plastic and pesticides. It is better to work 3 hours a day, and have healthy food available, so My Socialism is obviously far better and what my opponent is arguing for is just nonsense which doesnt work.

The average working hous per week in the world is 35 hours, which is almost 6 hours per day, and only a tiny fraction of the population works for 10 hours per day.

The average farmer works for 47-65 hours a week, which is one of the highest

Every individual has a choice to select what they eat, and there are more than enough healthy food choices available.

Pro's argument is completely baseless and illogical.

Socialism only works with low population welfare states like Sweden, the Netherlands etc.

Socialism has failed miserably in high population countries like the Russia, North Korea, Cuba etc, china too only progressed after embracing free market economics.

If a doctor, taxi driver and McDonalds worker all received the same pay or benefits, why would anyone want to do strenuous high demand work? Also putting one party in political power over recourses it can become incredibly corrupt.

Reason:

Pro could have actually carried this with some more wit. Had he responded to the flaws such as social breakdown with talk of those being a feature instead of the flaw; such as we need to follow Russia and Chinas examples of perfect fair starvation for minority groups they didn’t like in their population… plus with 35 million chickens, fir everyone to have even half a chicken each we need to drop the population just a few digits.

As is, cons challenges easily refute the paper thin case built purely upon circular reasoning

Pro did not take the debate seriously, and didn't actually make and counter arguments to cons points, whereas con did a great job of countering every one of pros points, which weren't very good. Their last argument was literally just "my system is best" with no evidence provided.
