Description
The Debate is on if the Food Pizza is considered a salad or not
Round 1
To start good luck too my opponent <3
okay a salad is "a dish consisting of a mixture of ingredients"
First ill explain, A salad is know for being a mix of healthy ingredients in one bowl traditionally served cold and topped with dressing. Modern salads have other healthy ingredients in them though. But a Pizza is dough which is baked with sauce and a mixture of ingredients.
"The core of the “pizza is salad” argument lies in the composition of the toppings. If we consider a pizza laden with vegetables, the similarities to a salad become more apparent."
One primary agreement my opponet might use is that a pizza is baked and a salad is served raw. But that really doesn't make use in a agreement entirely due to the fact that modern salads use baked ingredients, like in my salads I use grilled chicken like most others do you can also use other non raw ingredients like a bowl egg for example.
When I eat a pizza I have vegetables on mine just like any other non-carnivore. So just like a salad a pizza has 1. A mix of ingredients 2.Vegetables 3. A dressing
This is where i will wrap up my agreement
Salad
: any of various usually cold dishes: such as
- raw greens (such as lettuce) often combined with other vegetables and toppings and served especially with dressing
- Small pieces of food (such as pasta, meat, fruit, or vegetables) usually mixed with a dressing (such as mayonnaise) or set in gelatin
Pizza
A savoury dish of Italian origin, consisting of a flat, usually round base of dough, baked with a topping of tomatoes, cheese, and any of various other ingredients, such as meat, anchovies, or olives.
====
The temperature
Salad is typically raw or cold even if cooked. It often is stored in a fridge actually.
Pizza, in stark contrast, is served as piping hot as possible but uts often wise to let ir cool a tiny bit to not burn one's mouth. It is baked to have the dough and then 'baked' in a less full sense in that the oven bakes tbe ingredients into the cheese that covers the tomato base.
If you do store pizza cold, the natural instinct would be to reheat it significantly, before eating it because it will taste mich less pleasant texture-wise if not also taste wise, if left cold.
Some prefer it cold as it leads to some tastes being inhibited and they prefer it with the new texture. It is irrefutavle that pizza in its true form is served hot though.
====
Pizza is defined by tomato paste (often cheese as well) and baked dough
I don't think my opponent realises, salad is not solely defined as mixed food ingredients.
Salad is defined as specifically being prejted around vegetables most of which are cold and raw. Pizza is defieb by having vaked doigh and a tomato paste. The cheese actually does not fully define it but adds to the difference.
The vegetable ingredients are central to salads. Tomato is actually a fruit but nutritionally and gastronomically functions as a vegetable.
Either way, notice that for a fruit salad you add the word 'fruit' to separate it from a normal salad.
If a pizza were a salad, you could not define it since a 'pizza salad' would refer to small pizza pieces put into the vegetable salad mixture.
