Round 1
Every person should be able to be what makes them happy. The same way you would not tell a painter that they have to become an aerospace engineer in order to be successful in life is the same way you would not tell an aerospace engineer the inverse. I am a firm believer in biology and sciences as a whole, but "gender" is not biology, it is a societal construct made for ease of distinction. Sex is the biological term, and a person's biology is separate from their gender. While closely linked, they are not the same thing. I feel that "non-binary" is just another form of self-expression that should not be shrugged off and disregarded to find out what their "real gender" is.
If gender is just a construct, why does it feel necessary to defend it as real? We don't demand deep recognition of favorite colors or fashion choices — yet those are also forms of self-expression. Not to mention you can express however you want, but once you expect others to participate in a belief system you admit isn’t based in biology, it stops being personal and starts being political.
