Why else would Springfield swing much more for Trump than other places in Ohio?
Why on earth would you think that this has anything to do with whether or not Haitians are eating pets? 

That is just bizzarro logic.

Trump said it, and everyone with actual knowledge of the situation said it wasn't true, even the lady that started the rumor said it wasn't true. 

On what planet does him winning by a large margin in Springfield make that lie become true?  It just makes no sense at all.

There's hundreds of reasons for any voter to prefer Trump to Harris. That I ate some unknown percentage of ALL OF THE CATS, need not have any connection.

There's also the problem that Trump is a charismatic cult leader, proclaimed by many of his followers to be the true messiah. Cult members will believe whatever their leaders say, regardless of the evidence literally contradicting it (for which the cognitive dissonance usually only strengthens their resolve).

Do recall that Trump supporters widely shared a video of an American who ate a cat, as proof that Haitians therefore must be doing it (their logic on that still astounds me... she did have dark skin, so make of that what you will).

...

Oh and I did not just eat the cats, I did indeed chop up bits of them to make into cologne. But real studies show that 60% of the time, it works EVERY TIME!

This applies to every other county in Ohio as well as Springfield.

Yes; Trump has a crazy cult; that crazy cult voted for him in 2016 and 2020 as well as 2024.  We are talking about how much Trump outperformed his 2024 results vs 2020 county by county.  The cult effect is constant.

Trump said windmills make whales crazy, since he won by a large margin in Florida, and Florida is a coastal state with whales at Seaworld, so Florida votes are primary source evidence that windmills make whales crazy?

Voting more for Trump than the prior election (even relative to other counties in Ohio) is not proof, but it's evidence.

This is not analogous because I can accurately state a plausible lurking variable as to why Florida shifted more red (DeSantis gets a lot of right wing positive press, COVID happens; NY is tough on COVID, right wing NYers and New England residents flee to Florida in 2020; this is why Florida swung more red and New York and New England swung blue in the 2020 election relative to the rest of the country).

I can state my required ommitted variable; can you state your required omitted variable?
