I think you need to factor in character + role
I did. That was basically the only part I got right. Mistake was not looking too hard at Mikal's justification I think. At the time, Mharman's claim seemed more sus to me than his.

if town paid attention, Mharman caught Savant in a scumslip DP3
I wasn't scum though?

Mharman’s didn’t make sense to me either, but it did technically fit. Mikal’s was no where close lol

Well, maybe you should learn my scum plat lol. One of these days, I'll be scum and be lynched instantly because I finally have invested interest in the game.

In retrospect, maybe I should have realized the "You are lying!" from banana was scripted. Almost got there but at the same time I don't think I would have really considered the whole bus thing. I think at that point Mikal could have said he tracked Mharman to Austin and I would have believed it.

Do you remember where Mikal provided a justification and what it was? Still can't find it.

You know, I was going to cop Banana because I wanted to spite Mikal thinking Banana was scum. I think this taught me that spite is beneficial for town.

I knew Mikal was scum and WF was town by their dp1 interactions even with each other.

I have good intuition.

Banana was hardest to read, not solely because I don't know her usual meta from past game.

Savant was obvious Town even without his claim.

Yeah, I think i mentioned this in my interrogation of Mikal, but I had felt he may have been selling that early interaction with Whiteflame a little too hard

8v3 is really hard for town imo. Roles can help I suppose. I know when I see 11 players, my mind jumps to 9v2+1

@Mharman
The flaw of Mafia as a social game is that the apex players like me and I really am that good at it, end up lambasted for our ruthless playstyle and intentional/accidental lack of social skills.

My playstyle was only flawed significantly in that I did not shut up and let others be cruel to me without outright biting back. I dropped to their level and the mass 'sheep' thought I was the bad guy across multiple platforms. I would read fantastically, argue logically, get townread as an annoying townie over and over. It even helped a lot when busses happened as my partners truly could dislike me and sell it hard even from our arguments in private.

The problem is that there is a secondary goal in Mafia; being likeable to get invited to future games.

Now that I am a Christian I realise that this secondary aim does matter. Being disliked and apex player is actually a problem.

Furthermore, this website has the inverse issue to most; it allows far too much grilling and baiting/bullying. Players get to also play poorly intentionally such as GP, over and over without repercussion. Wylted also finds a way to
justify essentially gamethrow moves as valid which the same moves would get him warned amd/or banned elsewhere.

So, I have come to realise the only way to enjoy mafia in this community is to play worse on purpose, chill out as fools make wrong moves on my team and shrug at it.

I keep hearing people repeat this line without any logic behind it to back it up whatsoever. Maths fine, town get three mislynches, as opposed to 9 v 2 they get 4, 4 is a lot imo. I don't see where your math makes 9 v 2 better than 8 v 3. I hated playing 9 v 2 when I did it lol we get 3 flawless mislynches and the game should have ended and it still came down to a 50/50 in the end lylo...

Thats what I mean though, in my head for 11 players 3 scum makes perfect sense, 4 mislynches for 2 scum is a lot unless they just have really powerful roles.

The idea is that the survivor will take the side of whoever is doing better, so they count as 0.5 scum

I found it. It was the whole "double jeopardy" thing where he gambles at the start to either go vanilla or get a role cop.

Yeah, this one was pretty frustrating to play through. Felt like there was nothing I could do to get out from being scumread in the second DP. Honestly thought my reasoning for why I wouldn’t claim like that as scum in a game with multiple fake claims available was pretty sound, though I guess I am coming off of a game where I mostly straight up claimed my own scum JOAT, so I guess I get it. Honestly don’t even know what I could have said after a certain point. Fully understand why Mikal was pushing it, though. Fair play.

Surprised you went with Moozer tbh. I personally would’ve gone Mikal. You basically beat me by an hour cause I was physically dying

Well yeah that for the double jeopardy and rolecop/doc idea… but not for beloved princess and jeopardy.

7e. I find it odd that you haven’t given your justification for jeopardy being beloved princess, why is Jeopardy beloved princess?
I did call that out. Post 196 DP3

Now that I think about it, a lot depended on who got the sensor as well since there was a 75% chance that person wouldn't die at night. Like if I got it or Mharman got it, things could have played out differently. I think that was probably part of the bus plan since banana was very likely to be outed the next day.

I did think about this for a second after Banana flipped town. But then I realized scum would know anyone who wants to bait a night kill would not be too obvious with it. So I just concluded all the wack stuff that needed to make Mikal be town must’ve been true.

He said very blatantly that he had a "plan" to screw over scum if he got nked and then he had an investigative role. Figured the bluff was more likely than having a convenient role for that situation. Even now, I'm not sure Mikal wouldn't do that as town.

If I got the sensor I would’ve hard pushed Moozer and Mikal at first, but Moozer not hammering Banana immediately would’ve made me think about Banana + teammate, and I would’ve felt it was you in that scenario. Maybe I would’ve had more time to consider the hard bus, but eh.

I've also had a role where the character is only connected to one part of it. Like I was a miller soldier, and I was a "pawn" since they advance at the end of the game, but that has nothing to do with being a miller.

The whole vote scheme was also dumb. If you think scum was Mharman + Banana and you’re more confident on Banana, then you should make Banana be on the wagon, not Mharman.

I was more confident on Mharman being scum.
