The flaw of Mafia as a social game is that the apex players like me and I really am that good at it, end up lambasted for our ruthless playstyle and intentional/accidental lack of social skills.
My playstyle was only flawed significantly in that I did not shut up and let others be cruel to me without outright biting back. I dropped to their level and the mass 'sheep' thought I was the bad guy across multiple platforms. I would read fantastically, argue logically, get townread as an annoying townie over and over. It even helped a lot when busses happened as my partners truly could dislike me and sell it hard even from our arguments in private.
The problem is that there is a secondary goal in Mafia; being likeable to get invited to future games.
Now that I am a Christian I realise that this secondary aim does matter. Being disliked and apex player is actually a problem.
Furthermore, this website has the inverse issue to most; it allows far too much grilling and baiting/bullying. Players get to also play poorly intentionally such as GP, over and over without repercussion. Wylted also finds a way to
justify essentially gamethrow moves as valid which the same moves would get him warned amd/or banned elsewhere.
So, I have come to realise the only way to enjoy mafia in this community is to play worse on purpose, chill out as fools make wrong moves on my team and shrug at it.
