The painting's not all that good and you have to spend like years in line if you want to see it.

What does that say about the human species?

Are we no better than sheep?

As David Icke said. Sometimes I think that we "out sheep the sheep".

Also TBF.

His predictions concerning recent U.S. Policy and Middle Eastern events have been somewhat correct.

Admittedly some of his earlier conspiracy stuff was just a tad whacky, to say the least.

But if you've got a moment, some of his more recent lectures are well worth a listen.

Certainly.

We've long since not had to focus our efforts on hunter gathering and general survival stuff.

So staring at other stuff is a harmless enough way of spending a few hours. (And spending one's hard earned cash).

Freedom to choose and all that hey.

Mind you. One could just as easily stand outside the gallery and stare at something for free.

Take your pick the Worlds full of interesting stuff.

Just saying.

Yes, zed. (re your post of 01.06.20), Io Leonardo's painting of his 'm (us) e'/his 'higher self' (set above the world [re ML being seated above an aerial view of the landscape]) can be deemed "boring", but in a naughty sense! Like "Cavern with Ducks", "Mona Lisa" is a rebus in which Leonardo cryptically 'outed' himself as a man who enjoyed playing the Florentine "game from behind",  as did many men of Florence [once a refuge for Cathars, who practiced non-procreative sexual acts, reputedly]. In other words ['suggested' by my (often naughty-minded) 'muse'], sodomy found more than one firm niche in Florence [!].
Take an appropriate image of 'ML' and place next to it (to the right) a horizontally-reversed perspective, and between the backs of the 2 MLs you should be able to see "What's in a cleft behind" [!] (as 'suggested' by J'): the shaft & head of a 'raised up' penis (such as Giacomo Caprotti's, that was oft in Leonardo's cleft behind/backside,) - 'the lay of the land', 'one' could 'say'. So, ML's famous smile can be deemed an "I've got a secret" smirk.

P.S. You might like to start a debate about whether Leonardo was a Cathar, given he was a vegetarian [like the Parfaits], well-versed in his knowledge of Scripture (re [e.g.] Revelations, 14:1 - 4, in which John claimed that the only people who'll be redeemed are those men who have not had sexual relations with women) & he only converted to the Church of Rome's version of Orthodox Christianity on his deathbed.

Yep. Have seen that image.

Though the opposite does seem to show a good diagrammatic representation of the female reproductive system, ovaries and all.

Perhaps achieving sexual fulfilment wasn't as socially hampered back in the day.... AND all variations on the sodomy theme, would have been the best form of contraception at the time.

Repressed religious types really tried fucked up peoples fun didn't they?...Especially Catholics...Though up until fairly recently the holy fathers didn't seem to think so.

I haven't read much about the Cathars, though I don't remember their sexual proclivities being regarded as any more sodomitically inclined, than that of any other christian sect.

That was reputedly, just hypocritical Catholics in denial going Na Na Na Na Na.

But despite religion, has and did anything really change in the lower fulfilment department?

And was Leonardo just a proactive porn artist?....Vitruvian man certainly looked like he was ready for a spanking!

Complementary female and male aspects can also be found in Rospigliosi's rebus/Poussin's painting of "The Shepherds of Arcadia" (version 2), via the same technique.

Leonardo (da) Vinci died on 2-5, (15) '19 & Pope Clement XI [Giulio Rospigliosi, who was born on Lombardy,] died 'prematurely', aged 69, after a papacy the lasted (not "just coincidentally") 2 years, 5 months & 19 days. While he was an exemplary pope, GR wasn't (strictly speaking) an Orthodox Christian. His Lombardy heritage seems to have influenced his philosophy, and Cathars believed in reincarnation, 'zed'.

P.S. while there's nothing in "the literature" about the cleft images in both versions of "The Shepherds of Arcadia" - which confused me, when I went looking, several years ago - the English devisor of a "two by two" set of texts [that underlie an (ostensibly) French "mystery" [https://www.soulask.com/the-mystery-of-rennes-le-chateau/]: two 'transcriptions' (that both hold encrypted 'messages') & complementary (illustrations of) gravestone inscriptions obviously knew about them.
'REQUIES CATIN / PACE' - a "Solve et Coagula"/'RIP'd' (apart) and re-joined code based on REQUISCAT IN PACE [: REST IN PEACE] (R.I.P.) - can be linked to the CAT [s] IN one cleft of version 1 of "The Shepherds..." & 'PAR [+] LA CROIX ET CE CHEVAL DE DIEU J'ACHEVE CE DAEMON' can be cross-matched with (not only) the HORSE-like figure below an artful allusion to "a great and mysterious sight...in the sky" (Revelations, 12:1), above a set of  '12' "Shepherds" & 1 figure set apart, in version 1.

Have I given you (too much) food for thought, or can you handle 'a second course'?

Leonardo's & Poussin's [+ Rospigliosi's] "works of Art [& Ars (Cryptographica)]" integrate 'opposing' perspectives. Consider the question, "What happens after we die?"
Two opposing views are: 1. there's an "afterlife" & 2. there's nothing after this life. Both can be deemed true, at the same time, in a context of Rospigliosi's "instinctive and rational...female and male partners" [http://www.cockaigne.org.uk/Productions/rospigliosi.html], re (e.g.) my conscious mind persona & 'one' who controls a traditional 90% of 'my mind (reputedly)' that I can't control.
According to one 'suggestion' from my muse (in a context of [deemed]results of some relatively recent studies: the conscious mind - at times - acts on 'suggestions' or 'prompts' from the subconscious mind), 'Possession is nine-tenths of the lore'.

Also according to my muse, 'I can read the codes because I wrote them', which confused me, initially - until I deemed the first 'I' to be me, 'Stephen' [re another 'hint': 'Stephen is just an egotistical persona, based on supplied data and assumptions about my identity; it's not who I really am'], and the second 'I' to be my 'female partner', 'who' is currently playing another round of 'a game from behind' that's played by 'her' and 'her' ilk, time after time. "..we must get down to earth at times / Relax, relieve the tension", as Herman Hupfield/'ER MAN, H (UP) 'FELT' inspired to say/'relay' in "As Time Goes By"; "What's in a name?" - 'SI (R FRANCIS BAC) ON': 'THIS HORSE [-MAN/KNIGHT] I CLEAVE'

This probably isn't the right forum for discussing such matters, and I hope I haven't given anyone 'indigestion'!

A lot to de-cipher.

Though I do have a mental image of you and your muse.

But you are just shadows.

She lies, face down, absorbed in technology,  and I am absorbed by her shape.

You stand in front of her, leaning forwards, absorbed in technology also.

I am not similarly absorbed, and am easily distracted by my thoughts.

From my perspective, 'zed', your mental image doesn't agree with mine.
Here's a thought that may distract you - what came to mind when I cleaved the CAT~IN image: 'This isn't the first cleft pussy you've seen'.
