I never said that black lives do not matter to me.....That's quoting me out of context.

I was comparing  concern for strangers with concern for family...And all my family happen to be fair skinned.

In terms of respect, I have respect  for all human beings who would not choose to harm me......Perhaps that is the "ought" of mattering.

Oof, I realized I never reponded, no that is actually providing the context to the quote - you intentionally made a statement like that you could have phrased it differently, but the fact that you choose to specify "black lives" inclines me to believe that you had ulterior motivation in writing that

All Lives Matter in the sense that most humans feel that murder or the ending of someone's life is a crime.  Using All Lives Matter because a POC uses Black Lives Matter is a way to negate a whole group of people and pretty much justifies their protest.

Considering the context of the discussion, I never chose to specify anything....BLM was already on the table.

I was just being realistic.

Watch the news and another few hundred covid related deaths is just another statistic....Your Mum or Dad dies and you are devastated....Doesn't matter what colour anyone is.

Doesn't stop one being respectful.
