Any chance you are using MS Edge? I discovered recently that there was a problem with it.

I have this problem with chrome and it takes a reload/refresh of the page to fix it.

Does it happen only with the quote button or most of them?

I've only ever noticed it with the quote button, but that is simply because it is the one I used the most. I don't know if it is simple a case of me being impatient and not waiting for the page to load entirely.

So the one issue that comes to my mind is that you are starting to use the editor before it's completely loaded, which takes some time, probably around a second, give or take ( editors are built with lots of magic and it takes time to load 'em up ). And the truth is, there are not many ways to go around, maybe blocking the whole editor until it's loaded to prevent confusion but that's also not the nicest of solutions. Anyway, could you please let me know if that's actually the issue or it happens after the editor has been loaded anyway?

Occasionally moving the new line of response eg hitting enter is sometimes efective and sometimes not. I'll try to leave more time and see how we go. Thanks.

Recommendation:

Allow users to get notifications for any comments on their debates (and not just ones they're tagged in) and any votes cast on their debates.

So I could have missed something already on, but besides the private or open option in creating a debate, is there an option to narrow opponents or make it impossible to accept without a second modification? You could kill two birds in one stone by allowing minimum/maximum ELO caps to be set in starting a debate. That would help people who want higher ranking debaters, safeguards against noobsniping, or impossible to accept until PM.

Also, do we have a wikia?

@TheGreatSeal
The idea with min/max ELO makes sense only when we have enough people that have ELO not equal to the default 1500, so it will be there later, that's for sure.

Regarding narrowing the opponents, I believe someone has already suggested a similar idea and it's also gonna be implemented in some way or another.

I am afraid we don't have a wiki.

Recommendation:

In the profile pages (i.e. /participants/[username]), in addition to the "about," "debates," and "forum topics," I recommend creating "forum posts" and "votes cast" sections. The former displays all the forum posts of the user, as on DDO. The latter is a list of debates on which the user has voted.

Thanks! This one has been requested many times and I will probably get to it once I finish some things with the debates section.

I think instigators should have an option to edit the debate description after issuing the challenge, similar to the system on DDO, without having to delete the entire debate and its comments and start a new one.

New changes:

1) Added a required rating setting for the debates. It's used to limit the minimal rating for the contender to accept the debate.

2) Added characters per argument setting for the debates. It's used to specify the max number of characters per argument. The allowed range is 100 - 30,000.

Any update on creating a "select winner" option for voting, which Instigators can pick instead of the current 7-point system (with sources, spelling and grammar, conduct, and arguments)?

My strategy is to first finish the simple things and then move to the more complicated ones so it will be here, just give me some time. I still lack free time because of the work and a couple of personal matters but I still try to find some time and make people happy with some new simple features :)

Just a note that the block function doesn't extend to being mentioned in debate comments.

New changes:

Made leaderboard columns clickable to allow simple sorting.  Didn't spend too much on the UI so it's a bit ugly.
