You can check the changes and please let me know if we have something else that we should consider renaming. 👍🏻

I would rather this site be like 2B2T. There should be absolutely no protections for new users. The best way for the new users to grow is to grow their own pair, not having the site do half the work. That is how I did.

Sure, if the main goal is just to attract people in and let them stay, sure, but beware that people, including possibly me, try less hard on unrated debates, even conceding as the easy way instead of using the big ol' brain to think a way out. Voters are less likely to vote on unrated ones because why do they matter?

The new rule on that the first 5 debates one created are unrated is lame and made the site less cool, honestly. It is basically taking out the competitive fun. What if some new mastermind defeats Whiteflame on his first try as the instigator? He gains nothing quantitatively?

New users learn from their past losses, that is how they grow a pair. If their past losses don't even matter even qualitatively on any measure, why keep participating in it? If I joined the site in 2023 instead of 2020 and I saw this rule, I just may give up debating the hobby.

Though, something I do support is putting a concession button that requires one to confirm it at least twice(like the confirmation on "Are you going to post your argument" or something), and the debate ends. There should probably be a mutually agreed tie option of the same class, except confirmation from both parties is needed for the debate to end with no change in rating. New debaters who instigate and then FF deserved everything the loss of points, because obviously they didn't win nor tie if the other guy worked on it.

And once again, bring back the search bar.

The idea behind qualifications is to introduce some kinda sandbox before users can participate in the rated debates. Those are definitely less motivating but the main purpose of the unrated debates is to help a user understand what is what on practice, because there's barely any debating websites like that out there and we have a ton of settings and rules and all that and for a person that doesn't come from DDO, it simply could be overwhelming. Of course, another approach would be to create some kinda guide or wizzard for the website to show what is what but I am afraid I barely have man power for such task, especially considering that we are missing a lot of other more important features. I may drop the requirements for the qualifications though, nothing is set in stone.

When it comes to the search, it's my next goal.  Today I finished implementing all the missing profile pages like debate votes and comments, so now I am moving to the search. I am pretty sure it's gonna be ready during next week.

Make the default rated-unrated option from the dropbar to be unrated. New users wouldn't notice but upon people pointing it out they would make it rated every time probably.

It's already done. Standard is unrated, Rated is now the non-default and all debates that were rated and hadn't finished voting were force-converted against the debaters' will to be unrated. I noticed and went lazier in my endings against Lancelot but to be fair he may have beaten me if I'd tryharded the later rounds.

It's not a big deal but my browser (chrome mobile) when I click on messages thinks it needs to translate from Portuguese

The 2 hour or 1 hour-45 minute timing you had before for it to notify us that we are running out of time is far better than the 1-hour timer you have now. It is not realistic that we will be on at the exact hour, meaning it really doesn't help cross-debate grinders who grind many debates at once to manage their time at all. The 2-hour notifier at least had a purpose for someone who comes on the site hourly to check as they'd have enough time to at least put something up maybe. Frankly I think 3 hours left is a good time to activate that notification.

previewing doesn't save the argument anymore, only going back to edit it after previewing saves it. This affected my tournament round still being written.

DArt.C, we lost ability to edit our posts. It may have been five or so minutes then, no edit after the time limit.

I tested it and it seems to be working, but you can edit your posts only in the first 15 mins after they were created. The limit is there to avoid confusion when people edit their posts long after they were created, especially when there are already existing replies to an old post.

Regarding descriptions for tags, I suggest allowing moderators to edit them. Additionally, it would be slightly useful if we could edit the tags themselves (such as for consistent capitalization).

Yeah, definitely, my plan was to use chatGPT to fill out some initial descriptions and provide a way to edit those to the mods.

But cannot promise a timeline, hopefully tomorrow but not sure how much time I'll have this weekend.

please put a 'clear notifications' thing for the profile subscription so we aren't forced to open every page just to clear it.

Small typo in block notifications, it currently reads:
You have been blocked. Your interactions with this member are now limited. Among other things, you will not be able to send private messages, mention the member in posts and comments or invite the member for debates.

It should read:
You have been blocked. Your interactions with this member are now limited. Among other things, you will not be able to send private messages, tag the member in posts and comments, nor invite the member to debate.

The most important thing being that blocked means no tagging, as it’d be impossible to prevent mere mentions.

there is a way to make blocking actually block words and identifiers (for lack of better words) of people via javascript (and webviewer for certain phones) to make it where i no longer see their names and posts. why has there not been a similar development on this website? Im sure that you can implement it if you wanted to but it seems like there is no desire to. Is the nuiance of coding it that great for a website?

almost 3 days and not a response. It seems to me that you have no intrest in developing it
in which case, you allow spread of harassment, trolling and poor conduct which hurts a site dedicated to debates, instead of helping it.
if a site cant survive just because people no longer see a persons comments or debates, well, it wasnt much of a site to begin with.
