Could you please elaborate a little on this one? What's R4? But apart from that, if I got it right, it sounds interesting and we may come to something like this at some point.

Okay, so it's an option which an Instigator can choose to have if they want.

Essentially, assume there's four debate rounds, with Pro going first. Then, for the first three rounds, say with a character limit of 10,000 characters, the round structure would be:

Pro's Round 1 --> Con's Round 1 --> Pro's Round 2 --> Con's Round 2 --> Pro's Round 3 --> Con's Round 3

For Round 4 alone, the character limit would be halved to 5,000 characters, and Con's Round 4 would happen before Pro's Round 4. And the Round 4s ("R4s") would be exclusively for crystallization, with no rebuttal, counter-rebuttal, or arguments of any kind. This Round 4 would be called a "reply round" or a "reply speech."

I think the deletion of "sources," "conduct," and "spelling/grammar" points would be pretty important for me.

I'd hate to debate on a site with exclusively a 7-point system; Instigators should have the option to only have a "better arguments" point.

That's an interesting idea actually. I think we'll bring this up at some point to discuss with the other folk all the specifics.

I'll get to that rather soon, I promise.

What does the block function work for? PMs, or anything else as well?

I don't think there's any need to go beyond PMs and accepting debates, anyway, so just wondering.

Is it possible to add a shaded background to pinned posts to make them visually distinct from the normal posts?

Yeah, probably. I'll play with it tonight to see what can be done to make them more distinct :)

New changes:

1) Now the profile blocks work not only for PMs but for forum post mentions as well

2) Added a way to delete forum posts in the first minutes after creation ( shouldn't be abused coz it can confuse other people )

and some other bug fixes and small changes.

I didn't find a way to make it look okay, all options I tried looked ugly, do you have any suggestions regarding the color maybe?

I tried purple, it looked okay but didn't really fit the other colors, if you know what I mean. The slight orange actually looks okay so I could try to give it a try and push it tomorrow and we'll see if people like it.

Something like rgba(243, 229, 245, 0.34), more or less.

If I'm thinking it correctly, I think your values are too high. A too light purple doesn't fit the color scheme of the site.

I mean, since it's orange, you should want to be a bit closer to blue. So maybe try something like 90-120R/70-100G/190-230B. I dunno, exactly, though.

I've got some suggestions. Don't know how hard it would be but maybe it could happen

1. Forum leaderboard(most posts, most interactions?)
2. Something like DDO for bios, ex: favorite sports teams, favorite book, favorite ice cream flavor)
3. Friends. Adding and removing friends
4. Tournament Sub-Section

Example:

Someone can post a tournament and 8-16 people can join. It will be run by host, but it makes it more easier for people to find

5. Interaction Point System.

Whoever interact with members gets certain points, whoever talks to newbs gets a higher score.

Forum leaderboard(most posts, most interactions?)
Most likely something like that will be there.

Something like DDO for bios, ex: favorite sports teams, favorite book, favorite ice cream flavor)
That's also easy enough but we'll need to ask some other participants if they want it :)

Friends. Adding and removing friends
Definitely will be there.

Tournament Sub-Section
I'd need specifics but it sounds interesting :)

Interaction Point System.
Not sure I understood this one, could you please elaborate?

A tournament subsection would be a subsection where any user would be able to start a tournament consisting of a certain amount of people.

There would be a random ranking generator for seeding.

Tournaments would be set up in a debate format and depending on the type of tourney, different types of rules and regulations would be set in place. Here are key features

-The owner of the tournaments sets up 2 people manually and sets up round manually too. This means competitors don't make the debates(only post them)
-Anytime a winner is chosen by a judge or 2 judges, it will automatically move the person to the next round
-There is a tournament bracket set up, you can go back and see old debates and click on a link that sends you to the current debate
-A system of tournament winners would be in leaderboard.

It'd be nice to be able to set parameters for who are opponent can be (e.g. they must have an ELO of at least 1,000). It would also be nice if we could set ELO minimums for judges, too.

Can we have rich text in the description section?

Also, can we have the option to determine character limits for debates? I don't see that option, and I am not sure what the character limit is. I'd like to be able to choose that limit myself.

We should be able to have a signature block, like on DDO.
