Yeah, I already knew you'd say that, I kind of literally said it's not because they're thinner. You see the same thing with anything that has a significant 'vertical:horizontal' ratio of any kind. It's most obvious with 'tall' things rather than stout things, but all things disappear bottom-up if you watch carefully enough.

Didn't you say that "this is not just because those are thinner"?

So does the original size of the object affect the way it is perceived as the object moves further and further away?

So if I had a square, the bottom would still be squished quicker than the top as it moves further and further away?

To skip the bullshit, the answer to your third question is already answered explicitly by me.

Yes.

If that were the case, a square would appear as a rectangle from far away, correct?

A smaller rectangle where the top of the square becomes the longer side, sure.

Do you agree that light expands radially outwards from its source in a spherical way?

No. It doesn't, that's why different people need completely different glasses/spectacles prescriptions at times (sometimes the polar opposite to each other).

It isn't actually dependant on the shape of the eyeball. The field of vision depends on the photons that enter the eye. Basically, the question boils down to "Do you believe that light travels at a constant speed?"

Anyway.

Just out of interest.

How thick is the discoid?

And what's on the other side?

Just because you believe the earth is round doesn't entitle you to make remarks that insult the mental health of other users. If you genuinely can't understand what I've written in this thread, then you must struggle a lot in life.

No, I don't struggle to understand it, the writing is axiomatically fallacious. And ironically you've insulted me far more than I ever have insulted you! I was pointing out the characteristic of an argument that is a logical fallacy. Get over yourself.

I have. I've seen way worse than this. RM has his quirks and blind spots, but he's nowhere near as far out there as some I've seen. Unlike many conspiracy theorists, he seems to have some respect for science in general. A lot of conspiracy theorists make basic errors about 8th grade science or earlier. Many are suspicious of science as a whole. Also, RM understands grammar and writes in intelligible English. That alone puts him ahead of a lot of conspiracy theorists.

That's what I get for posting when I'm tired. I start taking things too literally or misunderstanding.

Its all good, it was a bit much, just pointing out that the paragraph is really logically inconsistent, and I thought that was RMM's whole thing,

The South is bigger than the North don't you know?

Depends upon your point of reference I suppose.

Maybe the South starts at the equator and the North starts at the Arctic Circle.

Of course if the division between East and West is 0 degrees longitude, then in the U.S.A the West will be bigger than the East, whereas in the U.K. they are exactly the same size.

Or is that just being silly?

I don't know, and before I accept any assertions from you I'm going to need to see you demonstrate them with evidence.
