When someone does something bad, it's on them. When they do something good it's because of God. Crazy how that works.

Well, why can't it be both?
A lot of people identify God as standard of, creator, and dealer of good,
To use a story not of Christian origin.
. . .

THE TWO WOLVES
A CHEROKEE STORY

A young boy came to his Grandfather, filled with anger at another boy who had done him an injustice

The old Grandfather said to his grandson, "Let me tell you astory. I too, at times, have felt a great hate for those thathave taken so much, with no sorrow for what they do. But hatewears you down, and hate does not hurt your enemy. Hate islike taking poison and wishing your enemy would die. I havestruggled with these feelings many times."

"It is as if there are two wolves inside me; one wolf is good anddoes no harm. He lives in harmony with all around him and doesnot take offence when no offence was intended. He will onlyfight when it is right to do so, and in the right way. But theother wolf, is full of anger. The littlest thing will set him into afit of temper."

"He fights everyone, all the time, for no reason. He cannotthink because his anger and hate are so great. It is helplessanger, because his anger will change nothing. Sometimes it ishard to live with these two wolves inside me, because both ofthe wolves try to dominate my spirit."

The boy looked intently into his Grandfather's eyes and asked,"Which wolf will win, Grandfather?"

The Grandfather smiled and said, "The one I feed."
. . .

Still, I'm an Atheist, and vaguely recall something in a Bible about man not being saved by works, but faith, But Bible says a lot of things, and not all ideas of God need be Christian. My argument though, is if a man has two paths, one which dooms, one with saves, If he chooses the saved path, that paths existence 'and his own free will saved him, If he chooses the doomed path, that paths existence 'and his own free will doomed him. As God is what is good, (By 'some Theist definitions) He will 'always be there, in good acts.

In chess, I'd often use the same opening movements,
One's moves only 'need change according to the opponents,
'If one's own opening movements are stymied.
. . .

I wonder if it'd be financially successful for MMOs to make their games free to kids, until they became adults.
Being that adults usually have money, due to jobs,
While kids don't always, other than 'sometimes gifts from parents on certain days or allowance, sometimes they have minor jobs, like paper routes, mowing lawns.
Idea being to hook a future customer.

I suppose a flaw, would be if parents posed as their children.

This is why nearly all of the games with white on my Chess.com account open with the London System.

Because it is safe, wide, flexible?

Or so I think a website is saying.

I never really played beyond a middle school level,
My opening was always the four move checkmate, Scholar's Mate.

Didn't usually work,
But I was used to it, and usually had a vague idea of where to go next, after it failed.

If you forget yourself,
Can you be said to still exist?

A thought I often have on immortality,
The human lifespan is rather short,
Though people change a fair bit,
It's easy to forget, to still see the same person throughout.

Like an image warper,
Set to some low degree,
Some 10 or hundred warps back and forth,
The same image seen,
But high degrees or thousands, millions of warps.
. . .

Old idea, Ship of Theseus.
. . .

But were something unchanging,
No new memories,
Can that be said to be 'alive?

Personally speaking.

Although I am patently aware that I am 63 years of age and not 23....(Bodily decline).

From a thinking point of view I still regard my self as exactly the same person.

Sensory awareness in a state of advanced brain dementia is hard to comprehend.

Being aware or ones environment, but having forgotten what everything is.

In a  base scenario, we would long since have been singled out buy predators and eaten.

Though in a base scenario it would have been unlikely that we made it beyond 25 or so.

I had an Aunt who was so demented that she even lost the instinctive ability to eat or drink.

She eventually just curled up into a foetal position and withered away.

I'm not sure that keeping people alive well into decrepitude is of any benefit to anyone.

I suppose the thought in #757 came to my mind,
As I was thinking on elves, undead, vampires, ghosts, AI,
And memory, identity.

Though about half the time of you,
'Like you, I still view 'ME, as me,
Even those vaguest far back memories,
I view them as having happened to 'ME.
. . .

But I'm still unsure where 'WE, are. (Or what)
That defining consciousness kick, we talked about a bit back.
. . .

Of the 'feeling and recollecting,
Humans 'usually have either short enough time, or long enough memory, to recall themselves,
Barring dementia.
. . .

In the Ship of Theseus,
The ship is replaced piece by piece 'exactly the same,
But in 'humans,
The pieces are different, , , 'But, for that 'feeling, continued consciousness, memory,

@Self
If we forgot everything but today, would we think we only began existing today?

Some years ago, my family had a vet put down the family dog,
He'd grown old, was having a number of health problems that he couldn't move easy, was in frequent pain, so on,
Seemed kinder to put him down, (Probably also cheaper, less work as he was)

Of course a human is not a dog,
Not in the value we place (Usually)
. . .
Only comment I recall making on Euthanasia, was for the series of DDO questions when I joined,
Pro, I don't like it.

Which I assume meant, if people are in so much pain or expecting death,
'Seems better to me they have the choice to pass away if they wish.
Also people in vegetative states,
But it grows bit murky, 'choosing for others.
. . .

Regarding myself, in ever losing my mind,
I'm undecided of two camps,
Either live by myself, until I die of neglecting myself, due to being unable (Painful)
Or try to extend my existence for as long as possible, even if unaware of it.

I bet you played chess for Atlest two years without castling.
Anddddddd .
When you added it to your game  , for another two years,  you had to keep on asking.
( how does it go again?  )  if i did it this way?  or that way ?
Anddddddd.
I bet now you very rarely castle.

With alllllll these Gender issues of late.
And for equality sake.
The King should be able to move like the queen in chess.
Orrrrrrrr.
The king can be queen and the queen can be king whenever it is best suited.

New gender nute Poker rules.

If one player has ,    A pair of queens.
And the other.     A pair of kings.
Thats a split pot.

Gender nute matresses
A queen sizr bed and a king size bed are now the same .

Was the step sister gender neutral, queen or king ?

Or in  fact her own trans-sexual self-copulating step half brother.

Fiddling about with bits to the point of orgasm or fake orgasm  is sooo complicated these days.

I blame the mainstream acceptance of buggery.

And why do rooks always look like castles.

And therefore is the strategic move known as castling also referred to as rooking.

And then there are Bishops, and we all know what Bishops get up to.

Especially Roman Catholic ones.

You're right Deb,

Chess and porn are easily confused.

And in really expensive sets I expect that there are actually Knights  on the horses.

Well, not actual Knights on real horses.

Then there are the sexually ambiguous little Porn Folk.

Or is it Pawn.

It's probably a metaphor anyway.

Good day Bruce.

Rooking ?     Never have i ever heard of that.

We also need to find a more ( gen nut mutha fukin werd ) for  (  Drag queens  )

Hey the king chess piece has a cross on the top .
This ain't  religious.
One black king and one white king ,
So thats,  ( Two kings )
Still nothing religious.

Three kings on the other hand,
totally fucking  religious.

What is mental activity,
In the sense of working out one's brain muscles?

Would simple math problems count,
Facts about history and the world,
Or are these memorizations rather than mental activity?

Maybe memorization 'does count as mental activity,
Or must there be 'more engagement, problem solving, looking at the problem in different angles?

Do educational subjects work as a wheel?
You know, how there's elemental wheels, with strengths and weaknesses against other elements?
I'd 'imagine, that people who major in,
Math, History, Language, Science, so on in their various subdivisions,
Would have subjects they're weaker in, on 'average,
Or stronger in,

Some subjects interacting a fair bit,
Others not.

Amongst other important jobs demanded of it by the mass; the brain can also convert incoming sensory signals into storable data, which it can then re -utilise at will.

If it can remember what it did with it of course.

Applying conscious demands is probably a good thing for the brain "muscles".

But maybe brain muscles are like body muscles,
Guy who 'only works out arms or legs,
Has funny looking, thin in comparison, legs or arms.

Some body muscles work the heart more than others, I'd think,
So too maybe mental activities.

And some muscles are more useful for certain physical acts,
Pull up muscles and climbing for example,
But not so much use pull up muscles in running.

I 'do agree with you though,
Applying conscious demands is probably a good thing for the brain.

As AI increases,
Perhaps the 'importance of human creation, conversation, articles, thought, so on. . .
In the sense of creating 'for other people, decreases,

Though there 'would still be value in an individual creating, for their 'own development of self,
As I think there is something gained by 'doing, compared to reading.
Not that reading isn't useful,
But the effect is different than doing,
Not 'worse maybe, just different.

It’s almost summer, and college has been a pain this far. But, I’m doing fine grade-wise. I’m ready for summer.
