should have realized that adding nuance
you are free to introduce some nuance at any time

you have not proposed any nuance yet

Why so much for "The eye of a needle"?

I don't think it's inconsistent with Christianity, that Christians exist who would say Pastor Kenneth Copeland is going the wrong way about Christian faith.

Likely there are Christians who think convincing other Christians to give you money for one's own comfort, is wrong.

Late miscarriage, also called second-trimester or mid-trimester loss, refers to a miscarriage that happens when a baby dies between 14 and 24 weeks of pregnancy .
Will God be able to be sued now?
nope, god only gets credit for the "good stuff"

if you've done nothing wrong

you've got nothing to fear

if you've something to hide

you shouldn't even be here

Well, I'd imagine it's pretty fundamental to a number of Abrahamic belief systems,
That God is intrinsically 'good, that his actions have some higher meaning, understanding, purpose.

Though it's an age old question of 'why bad things happen,
Just see the book of Job.
But many still find faith or reason to continue,
That God is good.

Well, I'm an atheist myself,
But I don't think it's an unjustifiable position that God would understand or have access to a different view or information.

Nice song in #95, by the way.
I'd agree that privacy can be an aspect of Pro Choice, but I'd also say that's because of the difference in perception of abortion.
I 'imagine many Pro Choice, don't view a fetus as a human life, or sacred.

Personally I'd like for government to get rid of the Patriot Act,
And I'd like for many websites and devices to have an option to remove all the spying,
Or just use a website or device 'without said feature,
I think website or device who intentionally 'don't use such feature, could do well in business.

Nice

How is it a red herring?

Many Pro Life think it's a life,
Many Pro Choice think it's no life at all.
I think.

It doesn't matter either way. I think we can agree I have life and I am a person...does that mean I get to use your body for my purposes? Nope. Life/not life, person/not person - these are nothing but a distraction to the core issue: self ownership.

If a teleporter malfunctioned,
And I was half transported into your body, that we share it,
It doesn't feel quite fair to me, that you should be able to kill me for that.
'Especially when in time, we can be separated.

the LEGAL precedent is based on an implicit "right to privacy"

nearly all "pro-lifers" think "human from the moment of conception" but for some reason think the "morning-after" pill is somehow "ok"

nearly all "pro-choicers" think "human at some-point before actual birth" but for some reason forget the entire LEGAL precedent is based on an implicit "right to privacy"

great example

but my body is like a sovereign country

you can be kicked out

for being an unauthorized immigrant

each individual sovereign country writes their own immigration policy

are we really going to force a woman to NOT drink alcohol and NOT smoke cigarettes while pregnant if they really really want to ?

Like I said, it is complicated.  And most of my opinion comes from non-rational responses to a personal history on the subject.

Still-

  • I'm a Liberal  and a gay man and therefore believe that the State should stay out of the business of sex and family to the maximum extent possible.
    • I believe the same rights to privacy that were implied in the rights granted to property owning patriarchs now apply to all citizens.  We have the same sovereign right to  live unmonitored and unmolested in our bodies, cars, apartments, etc as Washington did in his plantation home.
    • That sovereign right extends to pregnant citizens but does not extend to the unborn.  Pregnant women possess exclusive God-given sovereignty over their fetuses.  Fathers, family, government and church officials have no say.
      • This is a new right, born of suffrage,  that exceeded  our Founding Father's capacity to recognize but is nonetheless manifest to our modern understanding of women as full fledged humans and therefore citizens.
      • New rights require new amendments to the Constitution or else you get assholes like Alito whining about how those rights aren't in there.  They aren't and they clearly should be.
        • I believe that an Equal Rights Amendment and a Right to Privacy Amendment are newly self-evident truths that enjoy overwhelming support by American citizens and of a right must be codified into our Constitution.
  • Supreme Court judgements are a terrible way to make law because that court can only rule what's constitutional and unconstitutional.
  • We should respect the wisdom of Federalism, the marketplace of ideas discovered in the evolution of state legislation.  The way gay marriage and marijuana decriminalization spread from state over the last 20 years is the model that Madison foresaw.  I believe that if we had approached abortion the same way in the early 70's abortion would be legal, cheap, private, and mostly uncontroversial today.

I'm not very well read on abortion precedent,
I'd imagine that there are 'many rulings on abortion,
And that many rule against, due to implicit right to life, precedent.

But I assume you are talking about Roe V Wade?
Maybe privacy being held above a child's life, is reason a Justice sees it as shaky foundation?
I don't actually remember 'why he called it a shaky foundation, I'm just assuming.

Maybe there shouldn't be a morning after pill either.
I'm unsure about Pro Choicer poll beliefs, or polled reasons for being Pro Choice.

it's shaky because there is no explicit "right to privacy" in the constitution

That is true,
And babies are transported to foster care, and other such places, which can prove deadly, maybe.

But it's 'not the same as executing them.

I can appreciate someone wanting to leave their country,
And I can appreciate a country wanting secure borders.
Sucks that there is a conflict of interests.

If "there is no explicit "right to privacy" in the constitution"
Maybe there should be?
Or maybe there shouldn't be?
I'd have to read up on it.

Do we also have right, as Washington did, to treat our slaves as we like?
people neglect and abuse their own children and children under their care all the time

how do you propose we "fix" this (without making the "fix" worse than the current situation) ?

On a case by case basis,
Parents who burn their children with their cigarettes, or break their babies legs for crying, ought not have custody.

My belief or feelings about a fetus is irrelevant. The dead or unborn do not ever outweigh the living. Whatever reason a person chooses to not carry their pregnancy to term is none of my business. And pro-choice people have done some of this to themselves by allowing these stipulations where if a woman's murdered and she's pregnant that counts as two crimes. That's where the line has gotten blurry and that's part of the reason why they've been allowed to get to this point on Roe v Wade. There are laws that dictate when a person is considered pass the point of meaningful recovery that you are allowed to terminate life support. My view on it is is that a woman is the life support for her unborn and if at any point she chooses to terminate that life support it's up to her. And this completely psychotic off the wall that means you think women should be allowed to hurt neglect or abuse their born children is complete and utter psychotic b******* especially from a man who never is going to have sex with a woman and produce a child. A born child immediately has the same rights as any other living person I don't believe in after birth abortion, I do not believe in abuse and neglect of children and actually did a job that worked on punishing people that did that. A job that also involved helping the juveniles that have been victims of that. So you can put on me whatever you want to but the fact is what someone chooses to do to their body is none of your f****** business. Whether it's a nose job, a boob job, to not seek treatment for disease or to have an abortion.

it's more like if you deported someone who requires access to a dialysis machine

to a place where that access was extremely unlikely and or next to impossible

Illegal immigration process could likely be improved.
